Kamran, I agree with you 1000%. I came to Spain in 2008 to learn Spanish for 3 months and the very first day I landed in Madrid, I knew I had found "home". In the beginning, I didn't appreciate the quality of food here, but it is SUPERB and I feel so much better physically here than in my home country (USA). I do split my time between Los Angeles and Madrid, but I see myself retiring here one day.

When/where did you learn Spanish? You speak it very well. I am currently learning. I am in León (founded in the first century BC). You're right.. it is beautiful here in Spain. Very affordable, too, like you said. I've always loved old stone houses and there are lots of them here.

There are huge numbers of unemployed, Spain has had over 30% youth unemployment for over 10 years now, lots of youngsters leave for the wealthier Northern economies and the birth rate has collapsed, this has led to an ageing population. They have huge pension commitments with a falling youth population and stagnating economy, it’s the reason everything is cheap, they are in serious financial trouble.

My motto is: Life is as YOU perceive it. I think that you are a very positive person, who is able to see the best out of everything, and everywhere. This is a gift. Not everybody has it. In fact, I have seen several videos of talking about their frustrations about Spain. some people have the ability to enjoy life, with all its contents, and others they only know how to bitch, and whine. I believe one gets what one projects. If you project kindness, that is what you will get back. If some Anglosaxons project arrogance and despise the local people, and are unable to empathize. Well that's what they will get back. I am glad that you love and that you appreciate my country and my people, and its diversity. We love you too.

I have been loving for 1 year and trust me spain is not the place for youngsters to work or start their career. It is only good for holidays or weakend visit but anything other than that you would be bored to death also there is a lack of job opportunities with low salaries as well

I thought Cape Town was beautiful but when I went to Spain it blew my away. It's a beautiful country and the people are friendly. The best country in Europe. I can't wait to go back for another holiday or move permanently to Spain.
