My last two cats were rescued by me. Prowler's mother was feral and gave birth in a warehouse at work. He was the runt of the litter and got sick so she stopped feeding him. I took him to the vet and paid over $200 to get him taken care of. I also bottle fed him. He grew up to be a big cat that wasn’t afraid of anything. A month after bringing Prowler home Charlie showed up. I found him under my truck wedged between the gas tank and the bed of the truck. He was crying for help. He appeared to be the same a ge of Prowler. Prowler died 3 year ago, after having a srroke. was 20 years old. Charlie died 1 year ago at the age of 22 years old. He too had a stroke. They both slept with me every night. They loved me and i loved them. I lived near a field and always had a mouse problem. Once they were big enough they took on the mice and the mice learned to stay away from my house. One time a german shepherd charged me from the street. Prowler saw him and ran straight at him, clawed his nose, and chased him off the property. It just about killed me when they died. I couldn't have found better cats.
*Nothing* more precious than a sleeping cat. We catlovers can look to it for a long time. It's no wonder there are so much pictures and drawings of our beloved sleeping furrballs. Their serenity is our sanity.
I have had my cat for 4 years, she is 7 years. Took over 2 years for her to stop hissing at me. I know she loves and trusts me and will sleep with me but other than a bit of petting, no touching. She has never touched me or given me a nose kiss. I guess that some cats were damaged early in life and just have trouble letting down their guard. I keep hoping she'll get more secure.
I hope it gets better soon. I rescued a female cat that lived outside at least 3 years. She wouldn't come near me for a few years then slowly came around a little bit. She turned very loving after that. I hope you have another pet that's affectionate.
I won't give up on her. Difficult cats really teach us patience. I know she loves me. I will just keep loving her. Females seem to be more highly-strung than males.
"but other than a bit of petting, no touching" When next she lets you pet her start GENTLY on top of her head and work half way down her body then QUICKLY slide gently underneath towards her belly to give it a pet/rub. The belly is the key to HEAVEN for both of you Repeat often on different occasions - short, gentle & quick making it more common for her. The plan is to get her to trust you and that's done thru the cats belly. "She has never touched me or given me a nose kiss." Feed her a little bit of fishy smelly cat food from the palm of your hand. Bring it close to her nose but LET HER push her head in to get the food. Do this when she is most hungriest usually in the morning and make your movements slow so not to startle her. Don't give up at the first attempt or the first try if she doesn't FALL FOR THE BAIT literally When she eats it give her a quick little rub instantly Has she ever exposed her belly to you by laying on the floor on her back? Lay on the floor of your living room if you can and get down to her level and watch for her reactions & body language Hope it works out PUUUURRRRRRFECTLY for you.
She will let ME touch HER. She loves to be brushed and will lift up her head for me to rub with mine. When I lay down in the afternoon she will lie with me for a petting session, including belly rubs! No touching of paws. She will very rarely rub against my leg (for din-dins) She doles out affection in small doses. No cuddling, lap sitting (horrors!) or nose kisses (I mean licking he). I know she loves and trusts me but just isn't like any other cat I've had. She will follow me to whatever room I am in. She wants to be near me but no contact. I just miss my old cuddly cats 😺
My cat, a former stray, slept with me from the first night which I love. However, otherwise she is very independent and rarely affectionate. Still, I am grateful for any affection I get as she has me wrapped around her paw.
One of mine is the same but has to sleep next to me and must have my hand for a pillow. And I am not allowed to move an inch until he's asleep. It's a pain but I do it because I love him to pieces. It's actually pretty funny unless I get a cramp. 😂
I miss my cat. She slept with me every night, especially when I was post-op. She'd stay close wherever I'd go until healed. But She'd still sleep with me. She was so funny.
My cat is an alarm clock whether I want to get up or not. 4:30 - 5am every single day. I heard my wife murmuring “why? I never get to sleep in, never…”
We have 2 live cats and one ghost cat. I am not crazy! For the past couple of years the ghost cat shows up. You feel its weight jump on the bed and the paws as it comes up the bed. The physical sensation is just like any cat; you can feel its weight. But there is nothing there. It’s just air. All this to say that this cat likes sleeping with us. One night I was feeling ill. I was curled up in bed when I felt a cat jump up. It stopped close to me and did the “nesting” turns before it settled down. Nothing to touch - just air. It felt like it was offering comfort (there was definitely a presence). It stayed there quite a while. It really comforted me.
Have two 4 yr old cats . My male likes to sleep in my bed when I’m away at work .my female curls up with me ever night between my legs for the warm . The male likes to have a blanket that he can crawl under in other places like the living room on the(couch)❤
My cat Casey.. love bites me.. softly.. sleeps alongside of me.. gets lots of love.. and gives me love.. my best friend.. great video!! Thank you.. Rose ❤️
I remember Joseph. He would scratch at the bedroom door, and meow, until I gave in. Then he would worm his way up against me, and fight me if I tried to shift him.
I have 2 cats, and I love them both dearly. After watching this video it confirms what I thought about why my both of them want to sleep with me, (it also taught me a few things!). But it doesn’t solve my problems. I love sleeping with one or both of them, but I also like to be able to move when I wake up in the mornings.
Our cat always sleeps in our bed. He knows he is welcome and loved anytime he wants to come. Because we allow him to be in bed with us he is a much happier furbaby and he shares so much love with us.
I have two tabbies, brother and sister, they're not the biggest in the world, but if all hell breaks loose, I have two cats that will follow me into the far wilderness and help me hunt for food and water. They enjoy the outside and follow me around in the woods. A many of times they have brought me squirrels and rabbits.even though there bellies are full. Let's not talk about the mice, rats, snakes, and lizards and such. Oh and that one Red tailed Hawk, we had better not talk about that, even though I am sure that unlucky shit started the fight .
Where ever I go following me everywhere and And likes to play peekaboo around the corner to see where I’m going, and if you go ahead and play with the playmate, it makes it more compatible for both of you and this is what my Kitty girl does when I sit down she sits in front of where I sit and looks at me like is it OK so she wants approval and when she does, she takes full advantage of it and I love the idea that she depends on me because I depend on Her And it’s a blessing for both of us to be together. She’s help me in many ways and I’ve calmed her down in many ways as well. I’ve only had her for two years and she’s seven years old and she’s a wonderful blessing on my part, but I want to thank you for the video and I love learning more and more about how I can make it more compatible for both of us. Thank you again. I love you guys all on your videos, Cindy Lou😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
My last beautiful loving stray cat always slept on my chest with his front paws around my neck,it was so sweet ,the day puss puss passed away of old age a stray cat entered our lives, having been hanging around peoples houses for two years,so now I have him and he’s beautiful and has confidence now I’m happy he came to me when I needed him.❤️
My feral cat that I rescued, had to trap her from being eaten by raccoons is in the house but still does not trust me fully. First she would always run and hide, now she stays and watches me. It’s been 7 months. I guess eventually she might calm down enough for me to come close. Once I tried to pet her and she attacked me, so I just leave her alone. She has an entire apartment downstairs. Stays on the windows, looks at the yard where she was hanging out, but there are no more of any of her buddies. I will not let her out, first she’s already old, at least 14, looks fantastic, has everything handed to her, eats well goes in the litter box, is clean. And so it is, she has two couches to sleep on, lots of sunshine, I leave the radio on for her in the daytime, and gave her a big long mirror so she can see cat. That’s all I can do. At least she alive and doesn’t have to jump fences to other yards and gardens to look for food. Has everything served. Lives, like a prisoner in her mind, but can’t be any other way. I go to her at least 6 times a day, try to speak to her tame her, she’s looking at me without hissing and running away, so that’s progress. Maybe someday she will trust me enough to go upstairs to my apartment with my other two cats. For now she’s to wild still. Might never change too. But that’s the way it is. I will keep her forever. She’s all black. Beautiful and cross eyed sometimes. Doesn’t have to run from raccoons.
My cat is a result,I've had her nearly 2 yrs now. She has only just let me brush her recently...she loves it now before she would've had my hand off or had a hissy fit at me. She won't sleep on my bed picked her up and taken her in with me but mo did his back to the windowsill she likes to sleep kn. Nought her a couple of fluffy blankets and beds but no prefers the windowsill. She's come along way though and is much happier and friendlier. She adopted me so she gets what she needs at her pace.
I am allowed to sleep in the same bed with my five babies. I go to sleep hearing a cacophony of purring and awake to the same. Who needs sleeping pills. I sure don’t!!!
One of mine likes to get in the bed as I’m getting out of the bed . He doesn’t like company in my bed .Nor does he like to move for me to make the bed in the morning.
My cat used to sleep down by my feet, now she sleeps by my side between my hips and knees, also if I leave my night time cloths on my bed and get dressed and go out when I come back she is sleeping on them
I love my cat -. I rescued her from a parking lot when she laid down in front of a moving car. Luckily the stopped. She was very bad off and only 8 months old. She sleeps with me which scares me because I have a problem with fighting in my sleep.
My cat sleeps with me and the other one doesn't even try to sleep with me either. Probably because cat #1, named Roma, marked my bed as his own place and cat #2, named Bela, understood this 🥰
When I go to bed my small dog snuggles up with me, it doesn't take long for my youngest cat to jump up on the bed pushing my dog away. Its like he says " you're in my spot".
My cat likes to lay across my back (I am a stomach sleeper) and my other cat likes to lay on my pillow while the other one is on the rug beside my husband’s side. 😊😻😻😻
Because they want to? Our cat does 100% what it wants, when it wants.. she a pleasure to live with 100% of the time. She's a rescued 6 week old feral cat. The runt of the litter and loves her live now. She's 12.
Once upon a time a cat stayed in her miaowmy's bed n wasn't playing n grumpy. So her miaowmy paid for a blood test cos it was cheapest way to diagnose illness. She wasn't sick, just liked being in bed n sleeping😀🙀😽😹
My Patchy and I were inseperable, we slept, played worked from home together and even went to the potty together, her in her box me on the commode. She would stand guard duty at times even when I showered. She didn't mind me going to the store cause I returned with treats and meat (the hunt trophy)😂😂
What I found growing up was that The Cat Sleeps by the Feet Because It Does Not Like The Sent of one's Breath ! But it " Certainly Likes the Smell " of " One's Feet " !
My precious boogies sleep with me, its lovely, one night they hrard a fox scrram, They all shot up the stairs and dived under the duvet to be with me. Lovely.
I am NOT part of Tonka"s world and he doesn't love me apart from my beard as a morning scratch pad! The only hint of love is that I have a hand that flips the lid on the tin of Whiskers!! Selfish and greedy and to think that I saved him from a paysan shotgun?!!!
It's emotionally hard. 3 inside cats, one from the yard and a dozen yard cats, another really want inside and do does he, but cat relations when trapped inside has a limit.
This made me a little sad cause my cat Miki is a british shorthair mixed calco. I've been working on reparing our relationship. She used to sleep with me all the time she loved feet mainly but likes to sneak in with me when its cold and cuddle, then leave when overheated. I had miki when i was about 19. I am now 30, and the years for us have been rough because it was always just me and her never had a chance to socialise her. Then after a long time of living in one place she had to come with me to my fathers for 5 years, she had no territory of her own, one small room for me and her and three cats and one dog to share the space I tried to integrate them ect.. slow introduced, scent swaps ect * Continue in comment reply*
*continued..* but miki wouldn't accept any of them and I struggled for the 5years to find a home for us. I moved two years ago and she still hasn't adjusted. When I moved in I took in a stray for the night because she was injured. Miki went ballistic. Would not let me touch her feed her or pet her ect even if showered or washed hands changed clothes. Until the cat was gone. I kept them apart but miki could smell her through the bathroom door so I had to shut them both away. Took the stray to vets and disinfected the home ect and she got ok.. but since she likes to sleep in the bathroom in and "spying" to look at the corner the cat was in. I can't understand why when I've cleaned and cleaned. So she doesn't freak I put a nice soft bedding otherwise she stays in there on cold flooring. 😢 The point to this is she doesn't sleep with me anymore since the move into our own space she's become very timid and aggressive with anyone who comes into her space and after seeing this just reminds me of what I feel I've lost with her.. I myself feel like she helped me through many depressions and suicidal tendencies that she breaks my heart when I see her now.. and she isn't the same 😢 she saved my life so many times, I just want to give her the best too. If anyone has advice I'd appreciate it. ♡
I love when my girls lady grey and lavender snuggle up with me I miss spaz he crossed the rainbow bridge November 19th 2023 I swear I have felt him and seen him we always snuggled had him for 20 years
I have a question... My cat usually wakes me up during the night by licking my head, or grooming it. Usually I interpret it as a way to ask for food during the night, but somehow I feel like he actually enjoys it.
Not good for me or my cat - I'm a "tosser and turner" at night! I TRY to sleep on my Left side - because of my Sleep Apnea - but I move too much at night! (Also another reason, why I don't use that mask or hose at night, but that's another story for another day!)
I have 7 rescue kitties and within 5 minutes of me going to bed 5 of them jump up in the bed and the loud purring and head bumping begins on and off all night long. Sometimes it's a little bit of a PIA but I always remember that the day will come when I'll miss them.
