I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a master's in petroleum engineering in 2003. I'm 43 now and retired. I got good at one thing Coil Tubing needed.

@@yunuserdem7007 Before taxes, when I was just on a coil crew, I was making around $4K-$7K per 2 weeks. When I went to the Middle East, I was making a day rate of $6.2K. I never worked offshore, but I know they made pretty good money too, more than just working on a land crew in the US.

They are just being realistic especially with all the new policies and economic plans kicking in. It is pure facts. Look at ur top rig builders. Players like Keppel aint longer building rigs & making offshore windmills. Tell me that doesn't have an impact on the oil supply chain. But the good thing is, that means ull have less competition since these guys are gunning for cleaner energy jobs instead.

@@kittykitty_kat petrol engineer? Nope, not physically demanding. You are the one doing the planning, simulation etc and supervising ur crew. Even being a roughneck isnt a "physically" demanding job (as much as ppl make it sound so) but rather simply dangerous due to many hazards. There are other challenges as well. I have a 4.0 GPA as a master’s student, but can’t even find an internship. Now before anyone says GPA is not everything, I agree and I am not claiming it to be everything! I have worked on the field before I continued my grad studies, and there is a lot to learn by doing the job on the field first hand rather than the lab or the class room only. However, knowledge of how things works and how to design solution for problems that are encountered is very important! Hence it’s called petroleum “engineering” discipline, not petroleum economics, and not petroleum social networking. A sad fact is when you apply to any job as an engineer, the first thing you need is not to know what you do but who you know and your connection to get just an interview and progress in the job market. Student try to get to make connections before even trying to study their own lectures. The standards of the industry are flipped. Having to show up to school for 4 years and then 2 years at least for graduate school and do your assignments and study the given material reflects at the very least the level of commitment and dedication an employer can expect from a student. Besides that the level of knowledge counts! Anyone who says that it doesn’t count is obviously a person who doesn’t really have interest in petroleum engineering but in the money itself!

I have a Question, there is a Device that you guys use that uses Radio Waves to find Oil under the Ground. There is a story in California that someone was using this Device near the Fault Line and it caused an Earth Quake. IS that Possible? Do you know about this technology I am talking about?
@arsh0189
@arsh0189 Год назад
Thts not possible how can radio waves cause tectonic plates to shift ,i dont think radio waves generate enough heat to move the plates within earth
@marksawesomeadventures
@marksawesomeadventures Год назад
@@arsh0189 First of all, my Question was reaching out to the Engineers to CONFIRM IF the Device I was talking about EXISTS? YES OR NO? That was my First Question. To answer YOUR Question as to HOW a Device like the one in Question can Possibly cause a Earth Quake?, it works in the same way that a Cardboard Box and Generate Sound from Sympathetic Vibrations, or in the same way a Guitar Box Amplifies the tiny Frequencies generated from the Metal Strings. The Frequencies generated from the Device that Detects Oil under the Ground, causes Sympathetic Vibrations in the Ground that get bigger and bigger until it creates an Earth Quake. But the Location that this allegedly occurred was near the San Andres Fault Line. The REASON for my Question was because I was researching the Technology behind the HAARP Weapon, and one of the Key Moments in the History of Creating this Weapon was this Event that Happened in California. But since then all Records of that Event have been Covered up. So I am going back to the Drawing Board and Asking DOES THIS DEVICE EVEN EXIST??? THAT was my Question!

@@marksawesomeadventures oh alright alright thanks for the info but im no engineer 😅
@emiliovernon2209
@emiliovernon2209 10 месяцев назад
@@marksawesomeadventuresvery late response. But I believe what you’re talking about is a sonic logging tool or possibly a resistivity logging tool. Sonic logs work by sending vibrations through reservoirs and use the transient time that it takes to receive feedback from the reservoir to estimate subsurface porosity. Those are definitely not the cause of the earthquakes. Many times earthquakes along fault lines that occur due to oil and gas operations involve some sort of fluid injection for enhanced oil recovery or water disposal.
