Tech Defender suspension isn't very stiff. The interior rattles no matter what anyway.

I just turned 18 and picked one up slightly modified and has some bc coils on it and so far owning it for a week it’s an amazing car and drives 👌

BIG POPPA I personally just turned 18 and was looking for a car low price I could finance with no credit. Since Subaru’s were out of option cause of the price I came across a heavily modded one on Craigslist (gen 2) and from the short time of owning it it has outperformed what I would think it could do. I say go for it make sure he has all maintenance papers or proof of maintenance though😂

RoadRoyals my 04 ms3 had lots of wind and road noise, like from the tires. Mazda really left all the doors hollow and you could tell when closing them.

RoadRoyals that's right, yeah might've just been the age of the car from Mazda. I had Goodyear all around. Anyways might pick a speed soon, or a first gen TSX.

Dose of Jay Speed 6 has the same exact engine as the speed 3

Dose of Jay no difference in engine, just upgrade the turbo. He has a corksport which is a drop in. 1100 for the turbo and 200 for a good tune and you will be set Unless it has stock mounts. You want to get all mounts, motor and diff.

I've had my speed6 for almost a year and it hasn't let me down. The only big problems you have to worry about is the timing chain tension and the leaking turbo seals. But luckily the previous owner did all of that in the dealership so I don't have to stress about it.

Pre 08.5 DISI Turbo engines tended to have far more turbo problems. in 2008.5, they revised the turbo a bit, which improved reliability and instances of smoking. No performance difference, just reliability. This was on of the reasons I own an 09. I bought it new and still have it. After 83k miles, (70k stock, 13k with mods), turbo still holds strong. I loose about 1-1.5 quarts of oil over a 3k oil change of daily driving. Before tuning, it was about half this, but running more boost and pushes the turbo apparently leaks more. The engine is showing no signs of burning oil, so I'm thinking it's mostly in the turbo seals. But still, not bad on a high boost turbo car with this mileage. As Steven Johnson mentioned, there are cost effective drop in turbo upgrades, such as the Corksport or BNR S3. These turbos supposedly provide similar bottom end power but have more top end performance and better reliability. When my K04 starts to have problems, I'll likely go a little bigger. I thought I wanted the low end torque, but with a few flow mods, the K04 spools basically too early. How is that? Well, without forged connection rods, lots of low end torque can bend your rods. But also, the front tires have a hard time handling so much mid range torque that I'd rather loose some for the top end.

@@RoadRoyals hey man, love the car, thanks for the reply, your car is awesome, us in speed 3's are slept on and I always wanted one since I seen a gen 1 in highschool but got the gen 2 and couldn't be more happy, my completely stock gen 2 speed 3 made a scat pack Challenger scared, these cars are so underrated

And this is coming from a Honda head, had a 92 accord (auto), 90 integra 5speed and a 96 civic5 speed
