How do you navigate trying to challenge a boss who immediately gets defensive/combative when you even suggest meeting to discuss some options/alternatives? Some bosses seem like they have no interest in solving problems, no matter how tactfully possible ideas are presented. The only employee they want is a yes person.
Some bosses do only want a yes person (unfortunately for eveyone). Have you tried highlighting direclty to them all the good points about their idea/plan/solution before starting to talk about your ideas and alternatives. If they are insecure, compliments and validation might help. J
