5 Scary New Car Features We All Hate! A Fool is easily parted with their money. Someone who truly aspires to build wealth shouldn’t feel afraid to call out very blatant obvious money grabs. Pay to use your heated seats, even though your car already has heated seats. Pay a Yearly Subscription to use your Navigation System, even though it’s literally already installed in the car. Next thing you know, they’ll make it where your door won’t even open unless you insert 50 bucks into it. It’ll just have a Vending Machine Dollar inserter, or a Credit Card Reader. I bet you if it breaks, the dealership won’t fix it either, you’ll have to pay to fix it, to then pay to your use your car.
In the near future, Key Fobs will have 0 use anymore, other than to remind the buyer of the false pretense of owning the car, when in actuality, the car owns them. It’s just an agreement to rent out a vehicle that is truly owned by the Dealership and Manufacturer. I hope Kit Cars will still be legal in the future because if companies keep pre-installing these garbage features OR shove the subscriptions down our throat, then boy am I just going to build my own car at that point. You’d think all these simple shaped, boring looking kitchen appliances would be easier to fix, but they have a distinct lack of body panels. The Artists call this design clean, but to the Consumer it’s absolute hell. How do we fix our own dang car?

The direction car design is going is actually scary. Even just the aesthetic design. It’s a move towards a more corporate design, it basically reinforces the “ideal future” where people get up, go to work, and go home all with a smile on their faces. Aka: corporate drones

Yeah, it's literally corporate propaganda...I'm out ngl. 2-wheeled revolution. As Car Companies fail me over and over again, Motorcycle Companies like Triumph, Royal Enfield, Yamaha, Indian and so on, are doing the opposite. Simplified, Prices stabilized, features increased, and customer satisfaction kept at high priority Next car I'm thinking about? Stuck between A Meme Machine Honda Accord Sleeper, or Classic C3 or even Gen 1 Corolla (not overrated Tofu boi, literally a Gen 1 Corolla to just also meme build into a Sleeper) New cars though? I guess what I don't understand is that this would make a lot more sense if the cars were much cheaper overall. Paying for navigation service makes sense. Mapping software isn't cheap to produce or maintain, not to mention, isn't really necessary. I consider it a luxury in my car because I like to have a live map but hate fiddling with my phone. @WSKRBSCT
@WSKRBSCT Год назад
This is not new. All it takes is for a problem intersection in your ZIP code. When I say problem, I am talking frequency, not severity, of accidents. Just moving a mile away can have a huge effect on your premium. But, the thing is, law of large numbers, the insurer has determined with quite a bit of accuracy the likelihood of you being in a crash. Remember, it doesn't have to be your fault in order for them to still be out money. And, the most basic principle of insurance is spread of risk. As such, everyone shares in everyone else's joy and misery. It's a fact of life. With respect to the telematics, I detest them and will pay more (really, forgo a discount) not to have them. What driving they deem risky (speeding, braking, accelerating, etc) doesn't necessarily mean it's unsafe. I do all of those things to extreme degrees and I can do them with a skill much greater than the person doing rolling stops at 5 mph. I voiced my displeasure with this when it was being test marketed (it was around mid-2000s), pointing this out. I also pointed out how the data collected could be used in ways that border on bad faith. While that ultimately did not dissuade them from implementing it, I at least tried to advocate for my clients. At least people still have the option.

All the manufacturers saw people not care when Tesla started doing this, so they followed suit. The only thing fallacious about the slippery slope is the fact that some call it a fallacy. EDIT: on the car hacking side, if someone has physical access to a device, there's not much you can do to keep them from gaining control over it. This makes securing the nightmare that is modern vehicle software essentially impossible, it's more a matter of 'when' not 'if' someone obtains the know-how to get into the system and make it theirs.

I do professional detailing (paint correction, ppf, ceramic) and new cars from the dealerships have some of the worst scratching in the clear coat of any cars we get, sometimes requiring a full three stage paint correction just because the dealerships use rough bristle brushes to clean the cars and ruining them in the process. And if buying a new car, NEVER get dealer installed ceramic coating. It’s not a true ceramic, just a paint sealer and will do nothing for your car and you’ll pay extra for it, spend the money and get it professionally done or watch RU-vid videos and do it yourself with the proper product. Hope this helps somebody.

I recently bought a Mercedes CLA 35 AMG, with 10K down they wanted $850 a month... for a lease! I was originally looking at a BMW M2 or an Audi RS3, but because of BMW's "monthly subscription" model I never stepped foot in a dealership and crossed them off the list. The RS3 was insane, they wanted $90K for a sixty thousand dollar car. These cars are not worth what they are charging for them, on top of that they limit production and charge 20 grand over sticker! This was the case for most cars I looked at, the Supra Manual, GR Corolla and Civic Type R. I ended up buying the AMG at Beverly Hills Mercedes because it was a 2022 demo with 9K miles on it- basically new and never sold before. I paid $50K out the door and I'm happy. That's what that car is worth and that's what I will pay. I was blown away how much money companies want for a car that is in demand. They know we want fast cars with soul, not crossover crap. They are purposely limiting supply because the new "enemy of the state" is the driver. They were almost giving away electric cars, Audi begged me to take a GT for $750 a month on a $120K ecar- nobody wants them.
