Slaughter, 5th movement (out of 7) of UPRISING AGAINST DAKHIAS, has several sections [Slaughter, Weeping, On the Bridge, Aleksaa Curse] and all are, in a way, the result of Memed-agas threats. In the first one, similarly to Memed-aga, choir only speaks, while in the others sings normally.
UPRISING AGAINST DAKHIAS (1978/2004 42 min), dramatic oratorio for 4 actors (two of them off), mixed and children choirs and full orchestra. It was written upon the selection of verses (1/3) from the Philip Visnjics poem (in Serbian) of the same title.
PERFORMANCE: This is the redone version (2004), performed on the occasion of 200-anniversary of The First Serbian Uprising against the Turks (1804) at festival BEMUS 2004.
