I think you meant to say “ push the LOCK button” and then the hold button to remote start the car. It would not make sense to have the car on and unlocked if you weren’t in it.
Thanks for the drop. Ali, I have the 2023 with the SEL trim. On my mirror I have 3 buttons and from what read, they should work with the garage door. If you know, how is that setup?
Is there a trick to disable the beep when you step out of the parked running car with the keys in your pocket? I dont want to have to turn the car off or put it in utility mode just to check my mailbox or help the wife load groceries into the trunk.
New subscriber: thank you for the gentle guidance to experiencing FOBs for my favorite EV thus far. Doors are solid and heavy. Sometimes too difficult to open for seniors and women. It makes me feel safe because of its heavy-duty doors.
It's beyond stupid that you can't lock the I5 when you get out with the key fob while it's powered on. Sure, it's not going anywhere without the fob... but people put stuff in the car they actually want to KEEP.
I gather you did not read about the one feature that allows the car to be locked while in Utility Mode? Utility Mode some call it Dog Mode or Camping Mode, is selected via the screen EV menu. This disables driving mode, powers accessories from the main battery vs 12V. To leave, press the lock button on the car, exit via the driver’s door, use the physical key in the key fob to lock that door. Voila! Your wish has been grated.
