I gotta disagree with Phony, I love Kafu’s version, but the vocals, harmonizing and MV of the SEKAI version are too good. Sure MEIKO sounds… interesting- BUT I DONT CARE, although I do get why most ppl don’t like the cover ^^
i like half agree with lower; i just cannot get behind flower, i don't really like the tuning no matter which song i listen to. the instrumental, however, is really good. everything else i either agree with or it's "yeah i can see that"
I always like seeing what people's opinions are on these songs lol I've never been big on Vocaloids so it's interesting seeing that 3/5 songs on the worse are actually some of my favorite covers in game
i personally half agree with childish war (im sorry if i sound rude in advance i swear i dont want to be rude, also i may be biased) you can't just put emunene in there, the song is about A BROTHER vs A SISTER. if they had 3 girls and 1 boy the idea would be lost plus, i really like tsukasa's vocals in this, especially in the full version. GOD, sega took out the best part of his performace in-game i get your points, but what i don't really like in the cover is that nene sometimes sounds robotic?? in rest i think it's as good as the original

This is finally the list that I can agree with. So true for six trillion years! I don't usually like vs in sekai ver, but miku with Ichika always sounds so good! I agree with you with lower too. It is Mizuki banner original song, but the sekai ver can't beat the flower. I think the reason is because they lowered one key for the sekai ver that it doesn't sound as powerful. I am really not sure why they did that because n25 is capable of singing some high notes. Plus, flower's voice perfectly fits with the song.
VS realize is way better than sekai version too imo 3:29 also as a kinda old vocaloid fan (i dont wanna consider myself veteran but im not newgen, kinda in the middle leaning towards veteran yknow), i can explain what tuning is, tuning is, in practice, throwing away all your hope and drawing random curves in the tab you tune in, a more detailed explanation would be that tuning is playing with and shifting the parameters (basically the pitch, style, tone, range and some other vocal terms i cant be bothered to type) until you get something that sounds good, tuning is either a very long process or a very short one depending how much you want to tune (overtuning is a thing believe me so dont go too crazy with it), untuned vocals dont always sound bad but it depends on the quality of the voicebank you use, also, once you learn to tune, theres no going back, not a sample will go untuned unless it sounds WORSE when tuned (which is kinda rare but still happens a lot), untuned vflower doesnt sound awful but isnt the best. I might edit this later with more info
I strongly disagree with your opinion about phony. I hate kafu's voice, it's reminiscent of a mosquito and sounds very weird, but Nightcord's version sounds convincing and beautiful. Especially the final moment before the drop. There's a slight sigh, I hear something like desperation in their voice - this is what the Vocaloid version lacks, which sounds strange and, on the contrary, makes listening difficult.
the only reason I like rin’s version of showtime ruler better is because she whispers the showtime after the rap part but they didn’t do that in the cover ??? and emu and nene don’t sound that good imo 😢
agreed with ALMOST everything!! except rad dogs- even tho i like the VS version a lot- i just think the rap sounds better with akito + toya. also that one solo tota line at the end of the game cut... it has a grip on my heart. also dont agree w showtime ruler (i dislike both versions UH...) phony n25 and childish war wxs were such colossal letdowns for me as someone who's known and loved both those songs for so many years... nenekasa go girls give us nothing. there was no need to water down peak into whatever tf that sekai version was. i dont really like wxs but their cover songs usually do not disappoint,,, well there's an exception to everything i guess. also pitching phony down that much was unforgivable in my eyes. im almost certain kanade and ena could have managed it in original key :'( oh well at least the music video was good

im sorry but im genuinely kinda baffled about the usseewa bit. im an oldgen vocaloid fan, and if somebody were to ask me for an example of a bad vocaloid cover, the prsk miku VS cover of usseewa is one of the very first songs that would come to mind. i did not think it was possible for me to ever dislike usseewa, but good lord mikus tuning in it is so absolutely horrendous that i do not get how anyone can listen to it and say that its good in any capacity. i think mizuki and mafuyus cover is pretty damn solid, but even if it was just okay or even mediocre id take it over the VS cover any day. no offense to you, youre obviously entitled to your own opinions, but i cannot understand it in the slightest.
i'm glad i finally found someone who agrees that vs lower is better. maybe it's just me, but mafuyu and meiko's vocals ruined it for me, which sucks because i love mafuyu. i just felt as if this wasn't really her best song vocally. same goes for meiko, but i can say that about a lot of covers she's in, but i liked her in yoidore shirazu :(

Personally, I like the Phony cover! I don't think it is the best by any means, but I think it's serviceable, and I don't consider it one of the worse covers in the game. Although I do agree that other covers like Trickle's are far better. I also think that the cover for Lower was a bit weak, but personally, I don't like the tuning on flower very much on the original. I usually prefer a lot of other vocal covers for the song (i.e. Trickle, Will Stetson, mafumafu) or even other Vocaloid covers. I think I prefer how flower is tuned on songs such as those from Hiiragi Kirai as opposed to there.

I’m ngl the og version of showtime ruler has the worst rin tuning I think I’ve ever heard. When I listened to it I actually cringed at how horrible it was. The sekai version isn’t great either but it is by far better

nah even if I am a newgen I have my own opinion on these songs, why can’t I share them? You long time vocaloid fans don’t get to gatekeep vocaloid. If it was like that for all types of music, then there would be no new fans of music. that is absolutely stupid. I have a feeling this is ragebait but oh well
