He cheated yrs ago and we were broken up before we began walking with God. Not sure if my feeling comes from being nervous or because I see he is struggling with lust. He makes crude jokes and crosses my boundaries in regards to kisses on my neck and being too touchy feely. He laughs it off and says he just "loves me so much" but I know it's a lust issue.I don't have peace about it. We're supposed to start pre marital counseling not sure whether to go and see if it will help or just end things.

@@yara9594 not exactly, he said if I'm not ok with going that far he CAN wait, but that's not the point of why it's a red flag. It means he's not willing to follow the Bible entirely of his own will, it's his flesh above God's instructions, which to me is translated as him saying he doesn't give a crap about what God says. That's being selfish and not a man of God. So it's a huge red flag and a turn off. If we were to start making out and hands start roaming.. it means he's not willing to respect my body or respect his future wife. I shouldn't have to stop it, I should be at ease knowing he won't be willing to push boundaries and violate God's blessing. So yeah, he seems nice and polite has restraint to a degree.. but why would i settle for someone who doesn't value God and put him first in his life. I ran into a lot of men with this mentality. From my personality experienced they told me that in the bible it says that I have to be submissive and display characters of a psalms 31 woman. But, when it comes to premarital sex their all board for it😆😆. If men are going to quite things from the bible, then quote everything.

Same thing happened to me. Something was off from the beginning but I ignored it and the signs. Left last December and surrounded myself with family. It’s wonderful to feel at peace again. I now know to trust myself when something doesn’t feel right.

I was in a similar situation like you. I was in a relationship with a good Christian guy. Nothing to write home against him. But we weren’t just on the same page. Our conversations were dry in my opinion. I fasted several times and prayed for God to give me a specific sign that He was the one but God didn’t. I really wanted Him to be. I have it a lot of time because I felt the problem was from me as in why won’t I like a really good Christian man. But I finally ended things after a year and a half. I finally listened to my gut feeling; the Holy Spirit. That he was a good guy but we weren’t just meant to be together

@@GraceFaithGFDance it was awkward and the relationship was naturally flourishing. Although it was only around 3 months, a fresh relationship like that shouldn’t be feeling so off. Plus it was mutual. Certainly didn’t think it was the enemy and it didn’t feel right to keep going when it was super obvious. Plus if it was the Lord, maybe a new opportunity to date him again could have arose after the time apart. But it hasn’t.

The being emotionally invested and opening up quickly I just want to touch on. Some people do have things they need to disclose to the other party. And it’s usually best to do so before there is a lot a time and emotion involved. There could also be things. Like every person has a past. A before Jesus story and sometimes that also needs to be shared because of a consequence they had or if they got a arrest record. In my opinion it’s just always better to get that stuff out of the way in the beginning so you don’t wait 3 months and then tell them and then have all this investment into this person and have it all fall apart and then you be heartbroken. Also being emotionally invested... I want to be a wife and definitely going to guard my heart but if you can’t be open and vulnerable to me then I’m not wasting my time. Also/ I’m a single mother so I feel like a discussion on parenting beliefs is definitely necessary conversation to have before meeting my son because I don’t Spank or yell. I do the gentle attachment parenting. I co sleep. I breastfeed a 18 month old still. Etc... and you would not believe how many people run away at that. Lol. People Also walk away the second they find out you have a child. So sometimes stuff just gotta be thrown out on that table

My version of emotionally open was a guy talking about their ex, how she wouldn't date him even though he treated her with so much love and even saying how pointless life was and so on. This was after the first date and later found out he was still hanging out with her. Seemed like he just wanted me to throw emotional baggage at/have as a second option. Suddenly emotionally invested where the guy thinks if you don't date him his world will end kinda deal makes me think he is idolizing relationships and saw it as a red flag.

I read this and I'm so sorry. I have learned that sometimes it's easier to speak to the situation of others because we're on the outside of their situation. When it comes to our own issues, however, it's more challenging for us to obey, even if we're dealing with the same thing we told someone else to get out of. I would say as long as you have repented for disobeying and have learned from it, i'm sure you'll be ok. Prayerfully you haven't recently dated someone God told you to leave . It can be hard to leave someone when you don't want to be alone, but ultimately, God's will is the best.. Learning that for myself

Yes but you also have to be able to put your own name there too. Do you have any idea how hard it is to love like that? I have been in a lot of different relationships and i can say that only one person I was ever with loved me like that. And he wasn't even Christian. I have had an on and off relationship with God in my life. A few years ago, i prayed and asked God to show me what love really is. And to show me how to love others the way he wants me to. I had a very dysfunctional upbringing with no real examples of love. That's when I learned 1st Corinthians 13. That is how i gauge love now. I also look to Jesus as an example of how to love and treat others as well. I actually met someone else who showed me that kind of love but it was only temporary. He changed within a couple months. And he was "Christian." He was my first experience in a relationship practicing the kind of love God wants me to share with others. I had been working on learning how to love for a few years. I loved him intentionally and truly cared about his needs. He seemed to be doing the same at first. But then it changed. So please be careful and really get to know someone before you invest in a future with them. This guy totally fooled me and was talking about getting married and i am so glad the truth was revealed before I made that kind of commitment. I was so positive God had put him in my life to have a future with until he changed up on me.

It can be really frustrating to be in a relationship and not be able to share a common love for God. It will divide your time, loyalty, and ultimately the relationship. It affects your priorities, direction in life, how you make decisions, etc... All these things would be done differently for you than him and leave the door wide open for lots of fights, disagreements, and discontentment. It might not seem like it but he did you a favor being the one strong enough to end the relationship because you differ in some foundational beliefs. Relationships are hard enough even when you get everything right.

The waiting season is hard but when you are patient (which we should learn how to be with GOD) it just means waiting in the right time but focusing on GOD moving you forward to set your focus on him and get to know him deeper . Sometimes I wish i didn't have the desire to be with someone, I asked God several times to take the desire away but that hasn't happened until now. It's frustrating and exhausting to fall for guys over and over and being left heartbroken, even if that is the best case scenario in each of those instances. I want to learn to deal with my feelings, push them out or kill them before they get too strong, but the more I try, the harder it gets, it seems. Do you have any advice? You seem better at rejection than me 😂😂
