Great tips, thanks for sharing. In your first example, here's the mistake I would make: "If I have to be at work by eight, I have to start at six-thirty", instead of "by" six-thirty. Why is it "at" in the first case, but "by" in the second?
I always feel comfortable when I'm learning English with Vanessa the best teacher ever I am a Haitian, my goal is to speak English like a native speaker, don't you give private lessons??
Very helpful video Vanessa. When combined with your clear explanations, it is so easy to learn English. More videos please. Also your energy and kindness with enthusiam of teaching is like a teraphy(I can feel the joy in the learning new things) alongside English learning. You should also give teraphy classes to people:) It might be your hidden gift!
Hi, Vanessa I'm enjoying your videos and I realized my mistake between 'broken' and 'torn' And my common mistake is that when I caught a cold someone was loke 'are you cold?' So I was like 'yes, and you are hot' I tried to say you looked warm but it wasn't that meaning!! Now I know what I said. And I want to know how to say in this situation!! Thanks 😊
Hi Vanessa, your lessons are so inspiring and encouraging for me to keep up improving my English skills. Every time brings me the lesson in a good mood, cheers me up and it's a great start to my weekend 😌. My common mistake is using - get or become- in the right way. 🤷♀️Maybe, can you help 🙂? Have a nice weekend and thanks a lot for helpful lesson this week. Bye 👋
You are one of the very teacher to whom I follow to evolve English knack. It seems that my English writing proficiency has improved further. Now I work for CNN, UN agencies as an interpreter. Your videos helped me become a confident writer. Tho my speaking skill is quite ridiculous, but trying to improve it.
I have listened carefully to this lesson. It was very educational. Many thanks! I make a lot of mistakes when I speak and write in English. But I try to speak and to write in English as much as I can. Thanks you for being our English teacher. Your Channel helps me a lot! 💜
In the beginning of this video,I have seen am ok but on to Hear and Listen,I see where I used to make a mistake but right now am good bcz of u! Thank u so much and be blessed Madam Vanessa.
Hi, ma'am Vanessa. I have learned a lot grammar lesson as well as vocabularies from your channel. Thanks so much. You are truly impressive the way how you elaborateed certain confusing words. Would you mind, making a lesson, between COMPLY and ACCOMPLISH something like activity.
Can anyone help me? I just saw "What do you want to eat today: pizza or lasagna?" in a book today, and I started wondering whether the book was wrong or it's really possible, since inside the options "pizza" and "lasagna" we can have more options (flavors). Thanks in advance!!!
Hi Vanessa, thanks so much for making such a wonder video for your tons of followers. And I was wondering if there's a slip of tongue in your explanation of "torn". You said it's an irregular past tense of "to tear" but I guess it should be the past participle of "tear" cuz its past tense is "tore".
Hi Vanessa. Great lesson as usual. My very common mistake is the usage of articles and verbs "tell" and "say". And also I often mix verb "to work" and noon "job" I guess that it's because of my native language.
@@SpeakEnglishWithVanessa One always tells something to somebody. You cannot just tell, there is always a subject: you say “Tell me your name”, and never “Tell your name”. You often say “tell” to make someone do something, hence “teller”. “Tell me what to do.” Also, there are some very understandable exclusions: one can tell lies or tell truth. In contrast to that, when you say, you just produce a saying or vocalize something, not necessarily addressing any particular person or party. Is the lesson over? 🙂
@@futebol558 And I don't understand you. The explanation of “tell” has nothing to do with “one” - it just means “somebody” and is related to the structure of my explanation and not to the subject of the explanation. I think I explained everything clearly. Maybe I failed to understand you due to the grammar mistakes in your phrase.
Hi there Vanessa! Fancy seeing you again here!😊😊😊 To me, I already watched this lesson ever or I'm wrong? Is this new video? Thanks so much for going on doing a great job with English! I'm a tremendous admirer of yours! Keep it up!👍
Hi Venessa! I Really liked This Lesson And I Wonder If You Can Explain The Difference Between "Hope" And "Wish" And How To Use These Words Correctly In A Real English Conversation
Hi, Vanessa. Thank you for your wonderful lesson. Here I got a question. For the quiz in number 3, what if the toy is not a hard thing, like a stuffed animal, should I use torn or broken?
Hi Vanessa, thanks for this wonderful course! I've a question regarding the "broken vs torn" part; when a carton / box is damaged, would you use torn or broken ? I would choose "torn" but I'm not sure... what is correct ? thanks :-)
Hi Vanessa and thanks a bunch for the video. Actually, my common mistake in English is using uncountable and countable noun + verb ( subject + verb agreement ) and I don't know exactly when should I say " type of " or " types of " I would appreciate it if you let me know about this. Thank you indeed.
