Pancakes don't represent the skill or talent of an offensive lineman at all. They are a nice fun thing to keep track of but they aren't any more effective than a good stand up block.
I play o-tackle as my offensive position and the thing I noticed about the 5 star and 1 star is school size. That’s the big difference. But they are both beasts.
I play with mark and he's always working to get better every single day and one of if not the best leader on my team. He committed to Air Force this summer and he really deserves it. Shoutout to you for posting his tape
The one star did a great job at getting bumped off by guard up to backer. And the five star had some great pass sets and really setting back to give himself time!
It seemed like the 5 star recruit had better footwork on pass defense. He did a really good job of staying directly in front of his man whereas the 1star guy seemed to be a little slower getting squared up with pass rushers. Something that he can definitely work on in the next level. That can be coached up at the next level. He just needs the right coach.
Right guard next ? Ik a lot of people mostly think it’s the same thing but typically guards are a lot stronger because they work more in the trenches with big defensive tackles and linebackers, o-tackles are more associated with athletic d ends, which make the tackle have to be a little more quick and athletic
the 5star i noticed he had nice aggressiveness but his technique was all over the place. Opens his hips in the pass set, not using his hands to gain positioning, uses' his shoulder to brunt the run block instead of getting hands inside. the 1 star seemed a little small as well, more of a guard type at the next level. I'm sure there are better offensive lineman who could have been used for this video.
Coach Chuck Noll won I think four super bowls with smaller, quicker offensive linemen. Mark is a lot quicker than Wanya and that gives his line coach more flexibility in blocking schemes. Also, the really quick edge rushers will have a harder time getting the jump on Mark. Wanya is good too, hard to move, but his higher rating is probably just due to size and the fact that he plays on a great team.
Mark is physical at the point of contact and explodes through his hips to put people on the ground. Wished we saw more pass blocking from him but the few plays we did see were not anything special. Wayna is just a monster of a person. He is big and you can see how athletic he is by the way he reaches the second level and his monster block on the screen. Both athletes will be playing D-1 somewhere.
Hey just a idea you should do another 5vs 1 star, but don't tell us who's the 5 or one star is just show their highlights and see if we can figure out who's who
Hell ya imma support u nothing but positivity there’s to much negativity in this world we need more positivity ur a great person great u tuber u lit keep it up 700k by the super bowl for sure
There's a lot of 5 star recruits that don't make the NFL some didn't even played that much in their collegiate careers .. Their stars don't mean a shit Khalil Mack was only a 2 star athlete before .
Just a tip but maybe you should include there max squat , bench and dead lift or there 225 bench max reps .... but i seen no huge difference except one plays at a higher level (7A) ... its hard to compare them unless u have them at a camp and they do 1 on 1's with the same defensive person
You should take the top of every position and compare them to someone below the top 10. Or maybe someone even compare yrs like 2018 #1 qb vs 2019 #1 qb. Ext ext. That would be interesting.
Sharpe Life I am bro can u react to my cousin Cameron Foster he's going to be a sophomore this year he's a 6'2" 315lbs Offensive Tackle( I think ) and plays for the Northwood Falcons.
