@@nflclipzking7167yes different cultures cook ribs way different than us. someone could make what they call ribs and it could look totally different than you were expecting
@@legendary548 I assume from the tone you're taking on the matter that you're Korean? You do realize this is literally the same as going to karaoke. "Why should you go to Karaoke when you can pick up cheap microphones and sing off your laptop playing instrumental from RU-vid?" It is an experience just as much as the food. And besides, I don't think anyone wants to clean up the mess after a barbecue and so going to a restaurant for that experience without having to clean your house and have it smell of cooked meat is a pretty understandable reason. Such a weird take to have about Korean barbecue.
thats how it goes if u go to a more upscale korean bbq style spot……… this isnt anything new. some basic spots u can get a lot for like 30-40$ per person
@@nicoperez9984 it’s new to me I’m a pretty big smuck but not a big enough smuck to even shell out the $30. If I go to a restaurant I prefer my food cooked.
"cook it yourself" is the biggest overstatement lol. If placing a piece of meat onto a flaming grill is equal to cooking, all the chefs around the world should just hang their coats and go home, who needs them, right? Lmao.
@@JonO387you can't, but he can. This is what a lot of RU-vidrs do. He made a video out of it for his business, therefore he can claim it as a business expense.
That is literally the purpose. Korean BBQ is a communal style of eating. All of the people you care about surrounding a grill and eating meat together.
It’s interesting to see that restaurants that are categorized as a cheap place to eat out in Korea/Japan are considered as a relatively expensive restaurant in the us or other countries. It’s like seeing the US establishments with high price ranges
Ye and it’s annoying. I love Japanese and Thai food but there’s no point buying it here. It’s ridiculously expensive and the quality/authenticity is missing.
@DynamicalisBlue it's possible, I can get a 9 dollar curry at this local Thai place that leaves me satisfied, and the local hibachi place I get a 18 buck lunch special that leaves me completely stuffed, which in today's prices are pretty amazing
@@Sohrzie In this case yes, but most of the time, it's not even fancy. It's just expensive and poor quality. It kinda only does two things, depending on the person you are: 1. You try this exotic dish you've never heard but everyone talks about, but then you find it's not even that good and assume that's just what it's supposed to be like. You never try it again and maybe never try the cuisine again. 2. You're a sheep and go to these fake non-Asian-owned Asian restaurants to eat your regular exotic dish that you pretend to like and pay good money for because it's trendy.
@@kmaster30 Impressive. The best I've ever been able to do is $9 for a Thai lunch but it's located in the city's fresh market and they don't make food to order. The average rate from other places is about $25 and way less flavour.
I have an all you can eat Korean BBQ place near me. Costs about $35 per person and I could eat at least a couple pounds of meat to myself when I go lmao. Way better deal there than at this upscale place.
Upscale places are almost never worth it. They can sometime be worth it just for the experience, but besides that they're just overpriced for maybe a 1% - 5% increase in flavor, but a 100% - 1000% increase in price.
The meat is definitely lower grade. It’s fine if you think it’s too expensive. It’s no different than “fancy pasta”. People need to be realistic. I personally would choose the $35 if it’s decent enough but there are tons of crappy buffets too.
@@dailyrant4068Definitely it's lower grade, but the fact is that a higher price can't magically make something that many times better. A 100 dollar steak is not going to taste 2 - 4 times better than a 30 dollar steak. It's going to taste maybe if you're generous 2% - 10% better. Hell, with steaks being the topic wagyu, and it's more prestigious kobe beef brother are both not always fan favorites of people. It's meat butter, and while a lot of people like it some people don't. The reality is that most people just don't see the point in spending that kind of money on that type of steak. Maybe once every blue moon as something special, but that's about it.
@@lordalex027 Considering all these fancy restaurants exist, you are clearly wrong that "most people don't see the point of spending". Go to ANY fancy steakhouse in a major city, and you are looking at close to $100 a person. Any Michelin star rated restaurants will set you back anywhere from $100 to 500 a person. Sorry but I think youtube just has a lot of poor people who don't realize what people spend money on and then make grand statements about how "no one else sees the value". You're not wrong entirely, the diminishing return is a simple economic principle.
BRO Korean bbq is the best idea for a restaurant EVER. it is HELLA expensive and you have to cook it yourself you basically don't need to hire chefs if you own one.
I used to worked there it’s not a knock off the owners are Korean and everyone works really hard there although I did find it weird that people would come and spend money to cook there own food
Gotta hand it to the guy who invented Korean BBQ, it's genius. You can't get mad at the chefs for cooking it wrong. You ARE the chef. The ultimate karen repellent.
I repeat this is for all restaurants, grocery stores and whoever thinks I'm going to pay for something, Then I have to bag or cook for myself. Don't want or need that type of experience. I could stay home and cook my own food.
In India there is an all you can eat food chain called Barbeque Nation, the tables are fitted with a barbecue, there are total 45 dishes , and the total price is 10 dollars per person.
it's a great deal due to the sheer variety and quantity. fun in a group setting when you are VERY hungry. not worth it for a fancy place like this imo.
In future, you will be required to purchase the meat, seasoning from the supermarket inside the restaurant. They will provide a grill, you cook and pay 1000 bucks for the service. Don't forget to pay the mandatory 25% tip to the waiter who showed the way to the table.
i live in se/e asia so i got to kbbq pretty often, trust me, if you like kbbq come to south east asia (japan or korea or even places like vietnam) the kbbq is way cheaper way more meat for your money and the beef quality is immaculate
Try Chinese hotpot! It’s very similar to Korean bbq, except you use a pot and boil the meat. But you buy your own soup flavors and own dipping sauce, so it’s REALLY good.
@@nolanmaxwell3167 we go to a few. But the spot we go to the most is called “EmBop” and it’s in Koreatown in Georgia. They help stir and sometimes divide the meat, but they’re not always there so you also have to watch sometimes. We strike up convos with them. And every few minutes they swap out the pan we’re using because it gets too hot and the meat will start to stick and burn. Basically they have a waiter constantly walking down the isles of tables and checking to see if it needs to be flipped. It’s nice. AYCE for like $25-30 or smt.
Bro that restaurant took self service to whole another level 😅 Also why to go in such restaurant when you can just buy those ingredients and cook at home 😂
Because they still make the side dishes, banchan, drinks, slice the meat, prep the marinades, set up the grill and clean up That's 99% of the work done for you
$170 is it?!?!? I have been there, and it is located in the Hard Rock in Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood. Last time i was there we spent around $850 on 4 people. The deserts are crazy and the Starters like the lobster rolls arent some simple dish... everything there is yes expensive but an experience. If you ever visit get the Stir Fried Korean Udon Noodles 100% best pairing there.
You have to cook you meat in some entry-level Japanese barbecue restaurant, but when you pay the big money, you can have someone cooking the meat for you on a hot iron
Restaurants attain a maximum of 3 Michelin stars. Only hotels go up to 5. The gimmick of '6-star service' is implied and not originally acknowledged. By online review platforms, restaurants CAN attain 5 stars. Note that everyone can write a review nowadays.
tactic: call someone who loves and lives for rare cooked meat to this restaurant, buy the chef feast and cook every meat until theyre super well done and watch the rare lovers suffer
In the Philippines we have some places of the same but local businesses so it's decent price for our country it will usually cost up to 200Pesos per person which makes samgyeop a good monthly thing because ITS ALL YOU CAN EAT Although make sure to not grab much rice and drink too much liquid. I recommend just keep eating MEAT with THEIR DELICIOUS MARINATED LETTUCE
Japan: tradition Other countries: make them pay extra for cooking their food even though they can buy the same meat with cheaper prices and also that they won't complain about burned foods and the texture of the meat.
Theres a korean barbeque buffet in korea suwon somewhere. My family visited it and 7 ppl ate in there. It was all u can eat with like a dollar extra for stews and stuff. U could get as much meat as u want for only around 17 bucks each person or smth. My family spent around 180(?) won which is prob like 160 bucks maybe
