Empire at War really getting slept on. I suppose thats what happens when consoles dictate the market, RTS has always been a PC only genre for the vast majority of its titles. Its one of the highest rated games of all time on steam, and of all star wars games. It desperately needs a sequel or remaster with a better engine.
I agree with Rogue Squadron, but I'd take it further and say they should re-release the full trilogy. Rogue Leader on the Gamecube improves on everything that's good on the original. It also includes both Death Star battles, Hoth, there's a mission in Cloud City, and there are bonus missions where you play as Darth Vader both on the Death Star and on Yavin IV. On top of all that, Wedge is voiced by his original actor and you play as him through most of the story. Rebel Strike isn't as good thanks to some very awkward on-foot sections, but it further explores the original trilogy, the missions where you drive an AT-ST are fun, and it has the entirety of Rogue Leader in co-op. Also side-note, although I'd like to see a larger re-release of Force Unleashed, it is backward compatible on the Xbox Series X with some graphical improvements.
Great list, but I'd add that they should just do the whole Rogue Squadron Trilogy (3 games in 1) while they're at it, obviously Shadows of the Empire, the Super Star Wars Trilogy- yes, I'd make it as 1 long game with the biggest changes being the Mode 7 levels getting updates, changes like Vader fighting with 2 hands in ROTJ, actually having to fire torpedoes into the main reactor on Death Star 2, etc) & maybe the Star Wars Trilogy Arcade game too. Any # of older Star Wars games would be cool to see remade or remastered
I think in terms of “quintessential flight simulators” you have to go WAY back to PC and look at the X-Wing and TIE Fighter series. Which these games would make awesome remastered versions. In terms of re-release games I would look at maybe the “Super Star Wars” games from the SNES.
I subscribed for you. Nice video--I'm definitely happy to see "Shadows of the Empire." Did you ever play, "Star Wars: Rebellion?" It was kind of an RTS, but a little slower, but was fun to play in the background.
Star Wars Galaxies was the best 3D Star Wars MMO EVER, you could choose profession's such as Bounty Hunter,Jedi,Smuggler,Commando, Entertainer etc, you could go to different planets like Mustafar, Kashyyk, Nano, Tatooine,Dantooine, etc build a house, build a tOwn, build a Build TOwn with your build, ride Varactyl's or Speederbikes, or fly your spaceship into space and dogfight, look it up, it got cancelled somewhere in the 2010's area I believe but people brought it back to life and noa it's called SWGEmu
