In my approach in building a stronger spirit in the things of God, I'm just a push as hard as I can whenever I can type of guy. Cuz Jesus said In Matthew 22:37 that we as believers should love the Lord with your heart, and strength, right? John 8:32 says that whoever follows Jesus won't walk on in darkness, but shall have the light of life. And Proverbs 14:23 says there's profit in all labor. Just like how your muscles get stronger from lifting weights, being under stress, getting sore, resting, and consistent repetition, It's the same way in your walk with the Lord. You grow into maturity through prayer, reading and meditating on his glorious word, him scolding you to your flaws and faults, receiving revelation, and repentance. As simple as that parable is, that's how I got that push as hard as I can whenever I can mentality from just three bible verses

The term "mortification of the flesh" comes from the Book of Romans in the Bible: For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Romans 8:13 Now we as men and women of God do have a threefold enemy. For example, the body, the world, and the devil all work in concert/together against the believer. Well, Romans 8:13 tells us how to overcome the body/flesh which is to mortify the thoughts and deeds of it. However, overcoming the world is different from overcoming the body/flesh. For instance, For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4 Finally, overcoming the devil/satan is different from overcoming the world and our flesh/body. For example, Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7. Now there are three different enemies and three different strategies on how to get the victory. This is the word for today.
