As a chicken parent I wasn't so pleased with some of the segments, because some of the chickens were only seen as food or commodities, not as the amazing little beings that they are. #familynotfood

@@lori6709 Mine is an easter egger (pretty much the chicken version of a mutt) and americana mix. Definatly want to get a silkie one of these days, they are so pretty and soft and so nice, even the roosters are friendly!

Dad told me when he was young, Grandma chopped the head off a chicken, it ran, headless and went straight to a slide, ran up the ladder and slid down, headless! That is what I think of when people say something is as crazy as a chicken without it's head...

I work with someone who has these chickens/roosters. He has a few of them and they are quite unique. They did NOT cost him $700 a piece though.

Third story - he's talking about his love and responsibility towards the bird - yet the cages are utterly awful! There is waaay to little space for them, not walking around and eating genuine food can't possibly be called caring and appropriate for an animal! Please guys, buy at least cage free eggs and meat! Those conditions are horrible! (same for every animal of course)

Cage free can be just as cruel. The terms they use are misleading and requirements are minimal. "Free range" and "grass fed" are the most humane options.
