I once sold used items on eBay of this nature, had well over a thousand sales, upwards of 99% satisfaction, back in the early/mid 2000's.... then eBay changed their focus, pushing to be more of a 'new item' site. We abandoned it when a disturbing trend became apparent. All a buyer had to do was claim 'item not as described'. A chargeback would occur, the buyer kept the item and you, the seller, had nothing. There's no way you want to put something of value up just so someone can do this - so, my question today is, "How does eBay handle this these days?"
I have certainly heard horror stories regarding this but I admit, I have never had this problem (not even once). I try to avoid selling really expensive items on eBay and have a no returns policy (although I will always try to work with the seller if there is an issue). So far I have no experience with scammers but I certainly feel for those who have!
