Just as you were saying I assumed that a fedora hat was no go for me until I went to a proper hat shop and someone showed me the difference with a fedora with a lower crown. A real hat specialty shop makes a world of difference. I have always been a hat lover and people take notice. I think it implies confidence. Good video content once again. Ciao.
dragosavo Thanks my man!!! Definitely wish more guys were aware of these subtle differences is hats. Also how amazing they’d look if they found the perfect one for their shaped head. Smart move going into a hat shop! Unfortunately there’s not a lot of them around these days... Always appreciate your insight and support!🕵🏾♂️✊🏾
Great video buddy and sound advice! I’ve always been a hat wearer in my casual dress, but I’m going to take the plunge into formal wear and suits and go full 1920’s/30’s gangster style for my hat choice 👌🏻 Haha! Like you say, you’ve just got to be confident with it. New subscriber! ✌🏻
For me it's the fedora that's my hat of choice. I wear a straw one in the summer and a thicker, felt one in the winter. Stylish, yet quite practical as well. I prefer medium to wide length brims given that I have quite the round shape for my head yet still offers good shielding from the bright sun.
@@TheStyleJumper That's a pretty good idea! There can be lots to cover. Even the types that were listed in this video can have a very wide range of styles to go best with styles of attire. Even the make of the hat can be best suited in different climates while still highlighting one's style as I've recently learned with panama hats. Look forward to checking it out!
Any suggestions for new content?? Thinking of a deeper dive updated version on hats... I'm open to any suggestions! PS, sorry for such a delayed response.
Great video STYLE JUMPER!!! I always know when I visit your channel I learn something new every time ! The hat game is something every man should have ready and on deck when needed! You went over some very nice selections! On a side note, the website that you suggested via text a few weeks ago I am checking out to make a purchase on a nice hat to fit my Italian gangsta swag! lol ;)
I'm surprised you didn't include the Pork Pie. Frank Sinatra made a tall crown Pork Pie famous on one of his albums. Gray with a three pleat white hat ban around it. Beanie just doesn't make the grade for me. Of course I'm 70 so to me those are just something to keep your ears warm in cold weather. I know the young consider them fashion statements but I'm not there. But again I think Pork Pie as opposed to Boulders would have been a more desirable recommendation to have covered. I do like channel.
Thank you so much for the feedback!! What’s interesting is that I’ve been planning to do an updated more extensive video on hats. Porkpie is DEFINITELY in top 5 of my list, love that style! I appreciate you stopping, stay tuned for the next one on hats as it’s long overdue!
Thanks for reaching out Terri! That’s one of my favorite styles, picked up a new one just a week ago! Have him check out the channel and catch me on IG! I’m always open to connecting with my following.
my first experince with a hat was a trilby i bought in Hawaii like 6 years ago. i just bought another one also thinking of buying a flat cap. i am a bigger guy 300 pounds round face i duno if these hats look good or not on me to others but i love wearing them
Hey man rock them the best way you can! Even a derby would look amazing... Think of legends like Notorious BIG, Al Capone, Winston Churchill for inspiration...
Brother you advice on hats is impressive.....now that we are in the winter season..I too rock in wearing my hats ...smile...PEACE and love to all especially to you and your family......enjoy the holiday season
I love the fedora hat but I think you have to be confident to pull it off, but I am more comfortable wearing a trilby, have alway had one. A stylish hat you missed for summer, Panama hat, I am wearing one right now, for summer and compliments a lot of outfits. I wish I had a photo to show how stylish they are with jeans, shorts, trousers, t-shirts. Enjoyed your review on hats! Tell me have you worn a Panama hat, and what do you think of a Panama hat.
Sorry I missed this comment, truly appreciate it! I actually posted 2 more vids on hats that I think you'd appreciate. Please let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see me put together.
You make a fantastic point about hats being heirlooms. My favorite hat was purchased in 1937 in Chicago. It’s a simple black fedora, but it looks absolutely amazing especially considering it’s age.
Never really saw myself has a hat guy but I have always loved the newspaper boy style. Thanks for all the great tips and I'm looking at styles now to add to my arsenal.
I loved this one man. I was just discussing hats with my dude at Nordstrom but he wasn’t really a hat wearer. This gave me a lot more insight and I’m gonna try on some hats today!
Throwboy glad you liked this one! Happy to hear you re going to check out some hats! I think you’d look awesome in a fedora and especially a newspaper boy hat in you’re iconic Members Only jacket. I’m sure it would be a hit if you doubt already own one!🕵🏾♂️👌🏾
What you are calling a trilby is actually the post war style of fedora which was cut down to match the slimming of men's suits after WWII and preserved by black jazz-men. The points of a classic fedora (see the second model in the video) are snap brims (trilbys don't have them fedoras must have them), the teardrop dent in the crown (trilbys have a center crease never a dent) and when best the c crown which is what you are calling higher. Trilbys never had a C crown.
I been a hat guy for 30 yrs so I watch the trends come and go but I stay rocking it. From my Kangol flat hats to my pork pies, fedoras, stingy brims and even a Homburg thrown in. I have about 40 different ones all of them bought at a proper hat shop. Be a stylish person not a trend follower right
I agree 100%! There's value in wearing hats and I too stay away from trends... Being 45yrs, it's a badge of honor and maturity to rock my hats with confidence!
Yeah man, it won't hurt to try it out... I'd recommend trying several styles from an actual hat store so you get some variety to select from. Appreciate you checking out the page! Hopefully, you'll find other videos here that work for you!
aj hill Great question!! They’re very similar to the Boater Hat especially when made or straw. I guess the most important is the shape of your head and height. If you’re short or have a round head it might not be a flattering Look. Thanks for asking, commenting and viewing!🕵🏾♂️👌🏾
