I always thought TMs and HMs were dvds you showed your pokemon in your Teachy TV, but couldn't fix them getting instantly scratched until the 5th generation
Yeah because the 1-4 generation protagonists are younger so they would scratch the disks but then the 5th gen protags are older so they would take better care of their Tim’s
Someone made a video of a cute comic in which the TM was like an instructional exercise video, and a Kirlia was excitedly watching in in the hope of learning Focus Blast. Her trainer and older sister Gardevoir were watching at the end. One of them asked, "She can't learn that move, right?" and the other one said not to tell her because she was so enthusiastic about trying to learn the move from the DVD.
I’m sure some one has said this before but it always bugs me when people say that ditto keeps its face when it transforms. It started in an old episode of the anime where one particular ditto couldn’t transform its face right and the whole point of the episode was to help it learn to change its face. Most ditto can completely change their appearance perfectly. The only reason we still see Pokémon with ditto faces in things now is because it’s cute and funny and recognizable.
Someone made a video of a cute comic like that. A Kirlia was excitedly watching in hopes of learning Focus Blast, and her trainer and older sister Gardevoir were watching her unseen, neither one of them having the heart to tell her she couldn't learn that move. Weirdly enough, I feel that the "GRAMPS" evil acronym theory exposes Blue as the actual villainous mastermind. What better way to disguise your multilevel criminal organization through using the endearing pet name you have for your grandfather who you secretly resent for favoring Red and literally every other playable trainer over you.
Red: No. No it couldn't have been you! His Rival, Frodick BallBaggins: YES IT IS I! MY MACHINATIONS LAY UNDETECTED FOR YEARS, FOR I AM A _MASTER_ OF DECEPTION >: )
The first Theory isnt Terrible but literally just obviously right. Thats just how it is. The Pokeballs transfer the Data from the CD-like HM's and TM's. Why is this on the List? Thats hilarious, but in a kinda sad way.
What if The Pokémon Worlds where just gigantic theme parks and you take your kid at 10 and let him roam that’s why people let you walk into there house and help you instead of freaking out and why all the NPC all stand around to help and many more reasons I don’t feel like typing but this is a good theory video idea for you like so he can see
Majin Tar13 I actually love that theory! Plus, some games have places where you can buy ice cream cones or lemonade, which are staples at some theme parks.
Bright Idea Keep in mind that some theme parks have separate areas that are like their own parks. Kings Island, in Ohio, has a separate area with themed children's rides (It was Hanna-Barbara-themed at one point, and later Nickelodeon-themed, and now I think it's Charlie Brown and Peanuts-themed) as well as a water park next door called Boomerang Bay.
Bright Idea You're certainly welcome. Kings Island has a website you can check out if you'd like to learn more. What kinds of theme parks do you have where you're from? I know some about theme parks, but I'm not an expert, so I'd like to know more.
Bright Idea Sweet! Those sound like fun. I don't go on roller coasters, but I'm sure they have plenty of fun things other than that. Some of the best things about going to a theme park are the food and taking in all the sights. I don't know how many theme parks are as big as Kings Island. I'm sure most of the ones here are smaller too. I love in southwestern Ohio, so that's the theme park I'm most familiar with. Awesome! I'll be sure to check those out. Thanks! :-)
Also the evil teams just let you go after you beat their Pokemon instead of you know, physically beating you up and killing you because they're adults... and you're ten. Doesn't make sense for an evil team. Makes perfect sense for actors playing the part of bad guys. They also sometimes give you hints on where they're going and what they're doing.
I should mention that in the pokemon sun&moon games after you finish Lana’s trial she boasts about fishing up Kyogre when in the anime it actually did happened
Yeah, the quagsmire one is fallwed by the fact that people rememer the anime episode wrongly: is not common to a ditto get the face wrong, the duplica ditto had a problem and perfects the move in the end of the episode, the transformation is perfet
@@NepetasShippingWall1642 Kinda? Matsuda denied it, but the villain in Detective Pikachu is stated to have made one from Genetic experiments, and Let’s Go threw Ditto into the lab where Mewtwo was made.
@@__VQ__ (and others) people forget because they keep reusing that gimmick. Of the top of my head, the video game Pokémon Snap included multiple Dittos (maybe all of them) that were recognizable while disguised because they had "the Ditto face". The Pokémon TCG, many years ago (but after Pokémon Snap) also had a series of Ditto cards featuring "Ditto face". XP
I love the dumb theory about Komala actually being the log. It resembles the old theory that Wobbofett is actually the tiny little black thing behind it while the 'body' is just a decoy.
• Theory 3: just for clarification purposes, Dr. Fuji in the anime was killed. Mr. Fuji is alive in the games • Theory 4: what about Wooper? •Theory 5: so it's kinda like the Wobbuffet theory?
Here's a theory: Bisharp is actually a Gallade clone! first up they both have blades on side of their arms, Their feet are kinda similar, the axe on bisharp's head look like the thing on Gallade's head, they look like they weight a lot and pawniard looks like ralts

@@ndJssFlurt Meh, I prefer Digimon. A lot more varied in their designs, yes I'm being serious. The buckles and belts aren't as bad as a problem as people say they are.
Ditto only reatained its face in one ditto in the kanto anime and at the end of the episode it learned to transform properly and get the face properly so this theory didnt have to even be here
@@AdmiralBlackstar The Ditto in Pokemon Snap retain their faces when transformed because otherwise, the player wouldn't be able to tell a Ditto apart from an original Pokemon, and therefore who to expose with an apple/pester ball. It's an acceptable break from canon for the sake of gameplay.
That is true but it has become a very popular thing with ditto to not transform its face this gimmick is really popular among pokemon plushies and so i can see people over riding cannon for the sake of identification and the fact that its cute
I always thought of TMs and HMs as CDs that you put into a player and place headphones on your Pokemon. The information on them fill your Pokemon's mind.
@@lilabaddie7491 that mr Fuji helped make new two in his past as researcher and after he is created and runs away and goes crazy mr Fuji retires and takes care of Pokémon
If you think about it in a really dumb way, it can make sense that it can still be confused. Trees can be disturbed/preturbed, and kinda react to outside stigma (in order to protect itself-- like when trees leak sap to drown bugs to keep them from infesting them) so maybe the "confusion" status is just the log trying to figure out the best way to get rid of the "invader" XD XD

To debunk the theory that the anime comes before the games... The evil teams. How could all the same villains be pulling off the same evil actions TWICE? Yes I know Team Plasma and Team Flare are different in the anime (Team Flare for the better) but Rocket, Aqua, Magma, Galactic, and Skull all do exactly the same plots in both the anime and the games Also characters Do you REALLY expect me to believe May, Dawn, Iris, and Serena went on TWO different adventures each, starting from the same places both times and not having aged a day? Then there’s Bonnie who’s a little girl in both the games and the anime, where if this theory were true she’d be older in the games. Also the games all have a timeline spread across MULTIPLE DECADES, so for the later generations the whole character age thing becomes EVEN MORE ridiculous I’m sorry, but every time somebody mentions this ridiculous theory, it ticks me off because of how drastically different the parallels between the games and anime are
each time someone plays through the game it creates a new dimension for every individual person, and the anime just takes place in Ash's dimension. (this can't be proven wrong since multiple dimensions is already canon in the lore itself)
I can already see it: The main trainers of each region had just gotten through a battle with their regional teams, when all of a sudden, a mysterious figure shows up on a screen. ???: “Well, I’ve seen that you’ve all lost to a bunch of...kids? Hmph, it doesn’t matter, give me more time, and I’ll be ready.” Blue: “Wait a s... I know that voice... gramps?” Oak: “I see you’ve caught on... unfortunately, my dear boy, I hate that this is how you find out.” Gloria: “Oi, hold it ‘ere! Who’s this bloke?!” Hilbert: “Erm... That would be the professor of Kanto, Professor Oak.” Elio: “Woah, woah, woah! Wait! This guy? Related to Sampson Oak?” Oak: “Yes, you should know him as my cousin. He never knew about my plans, and I appologize that he will only learn after they’re complete.” Kris: “Erm... what plan?” Oak: “My plan... to make Pokémon in there entirety go extinct. I’ve enlisted in the help of the greatest minds in this world to help me with this. When this machine is done, then all Pokémon, everywhere, will be turned into code, and you’ll all forget they ever existed.” Ethan: “Then I guess we’ll have to stop you before that plan comes to fruition?” Oak: “You won’t be able to. I ran a test to see how well you’d handle a combination of all of the respective region’s teams joining forces, and saw that you, Ellio and Selene, were able to dispatch them with little effort. This one is different, as you’re not just fighting the leaders, but the entire team. Good luck, because In twenty minutes, you can say good bye to all Pokémon. That includes your beloved Charizards, your Lucarios, your Greninja... and, as regrettable this is... pikachu, as well.” Red: “...Then we may as well end off with a bang? Come on out Charizard, I don’t want to loose you without one last goodbye.”
You forgot Ash-Greninja for the third one. And there is actually more evidence than Wobuffet is actually the tail, that would have been a better fifth one.
I'd Like to point out that your "All quagsire must be Ditto" Theory must be false if you think the Anime and the games are connected. Because in the first season, episode 37 (Ditto's Mysterious Mansion) is based around a ditto who can't change their face like OTHER dittos. Saying that dittos can (In most cases) change their faces too. Therefor either your "Anime and games" or "All Quagsire are Dittos" theories must certainly be wrong..... I just remembered the title of the video. P.S Even in games they change their face to the correct face sooo I'm personally gonna say quagsire is quagsire.
@@dialaforawesome2029 mimikyu stalks pikachus due to jealousy. It's not about ash it's about pikachu. That games story happens after the anime, fujis story and the creation of mewtwo is stated as a prequel/flashback from the start. These are stated as bad theories for a reason
If all Ditto are Quagsire, then Quagsire (and Wooper) don't exist. What would their faces look like? Maybe Ditto just weren't very creative, after copying from real Pokemon for so long
Giant Japanese & Chinese salamanders have tiny eyes and huge mouths so that's why Quagsire's got those same features, I think that's the main thing that makes that theory terrible.. also it has nostrils
I thought TMs were actually fitness DVDs, and before Gen 5 the tech wasn't very good so they were immediatly scratched, then TRs are cheap copy versions that teach better moves but break.
The reason some characters share with the anime is because they are alternate universes that share some small things ash and Alan exist but aren't as big characters
Theory: Your Pokémon character is a character in a dream or a simulator and doesn’t want to create a specific face for everyone, that’s why certain trainers look the same, along with random people. It only has special looks for main people. Also, when you first start let’s go pikachu and eevee, after the “character consultation” is done, your character looks suprised they look like this, or that they are here. You also no nothing about your past life, and always start our at 11 or 12 years old. Thank you for your time.
With the TMs as a kid i used to do workout DVD's with my mum i always just imagined it was like a dvd they show they're Pokemon training them to do moves XD
sans undertale's left toe Yeah I agree. A theory that’s like “WaLlY gRoWs Up To Be N” is a terrible theory bc the only evidence it has is that the two characters have the same hair colour :/
@@rubyblackwood8840 At the very most, they're related, but it's still probably not very likely. Even that Rocket admin being Silver's mom is more credible, because it has a little more going for it.
ngl I’ve had the headcanon that Pokemon are digital data creatures that can turn matter into energy and vice versa (using moves and such) for like 7 years. I actually completely agree with you there. I even thought that eggs were just a .zip file being extracted into a new baby Pokemon that already knows all it needs to know to survive. TMs being software updates is a new idea to me, though, but not a bad one! The only thing that confuses me is the process of teaching TMs away from a personal computer. It could be that you can use the Poke Ball (with your Pkmn inside) to scan the disk and select options to teach moves via the ball button and a little screen on the top of the Poke Ball. Just peculiar stuff I like to think about sometimes.
10:48~10:52 Not really, 'cause up until Gen 4, a normal Ditto will always become the color of the target's non-shiny color when transforming, and a shiny ditto will always become the color of the target's shiny color when transforming. From Gen 4 onward, it depends on if the target is shiny or not. Either way, it doesn't retain its own coloration and instead changes colors based on the target, so Quagsire coincidentally sharing its coloration with Ditto means nothing. Also, the face thing is only in the anime: in the games, they have the same face as who they transform into, even in the 3D games. Edit 10/9/2023: Changed timestamp to time range.
Ik your comment is 4 years old, but to add to the face thing: It was just that *one* ditto in the anime, not even all of them. The episode with it literally comments on that fact.
Or maybe the trainer watches it, because you know he can actually understand it, and the video is a tutorial on how to teach your Pokémon this specific move. Otherwise surely any Pokémon that watches another Pokémon use a learnable move would then be able to copy it instantly.
Here are some more theories that could fit the same category: Missingno is a QR code from, get this, Aliens, but at Pokemon's height we didn't have the technology to read it. Professor Oak's aides foreshadowed Pokerus what if, all pokemon, were just ditto in disguise Pokemon takes place in a post apocalypse, because everyone looks alike. These two characters are related because they both have [insert design detail they share] Suicune has been seen suspiciously looking at a mountain. Half Life 3 confirmed. Why did Pikachu get skinnier over time? Simple. Diabeetus. [insert character] is dead and/or a ghost Gengar foreshadowed Pokemon Moon because is wide smile is in the shape of a crescent moon when you turn it on its side. Pokemon who do not accept Arceus as lord and savior get reincarnated as digimon. Gamefreak being in the games clearly means that we are all living a lie. Red is Ash's older brother. Ralphie from the Magic School Bus is a member of Team Rocket. Mega Man X takes place in the same universe of Pokemon because some of the characters look like Pokemon. and finally, The real plot of Pokemon Red and Blue is that Professor Oak came up with a ridiculously elaborate scheme, in which he sent a 10 year old boy and his dirtbag rival to catch all 150 pokemon just so that Oak could bang the kid's mom
5:15 idk man, maybe he gave u ur starter to later encounter the team rocket man that tried to get u in the team rocket, maybe he wanted to get a stronger team rocket teammate
What if Professor Oak started the criminal groups as organizations to complete the Pokedex? Once left unchecked, individuals such as Giovanni, Archie, Maxie, etc. led them into criminal ways to achieve/abuse this goal to suit their own. This could explain the route of Team Rocket's obsession with finding rare Pokemon to profit off of, and Magma and Aqua's search for the legendary Pokemon (aside from their expansionist goals). By Pokemon Yellow, Oak has noticed his failure and this is why he states that it "WAS" his dream to complete the Pokedex, and this now explains why he only trusts his Grandson and his friend since a young age to possibly achieve his goal. This is also why Oak may sometimes cooperate with the groups, he still believes they may come back to their good days before the criminality. (I don't actually believe this, just a thought I had while watching). :O
What's really funny about the Quagsire one is that even Sun and Moon the anime jabbed at this. They were looking for an escaped Ditto. It was among some Quagsire. The Ditto was deemed too hard to find at that point since the Quagsires had faces that looked too much alike to Ditto. XD
And here's two more things that also back up the theory of the games and anime being in the same continuity, the pikachu that wears Ash's multiple hats and Ash Greninja
Just like pedo-squirrel If you don't get that (let's be honest no one does) then I have a safe cross code video explaining it Sorry for advertising but this just reminded me of it
KOMALA THEORY DEBUNKED; in the sun and moon anime, Samson Oak has a Komala grabbing on to his head, with the log no where to be found until later in the episode
I always thought that TMs and HMs were put into a DVD player and showed your Pokémon a tutorial of how to use the move. The way Pokémon “forget” moves is just telling the Pokémon to not use that move anymore because of the rules.
Oh my god the Gramps theory 😂 But like what about the other evil teams like where is: Flare, Aether Foundation (if you count them), and Yell - though they aren’t really evil and Chairman Rose is the villain in that one.
It's more fun to comment on the theories you provided than coming up with a new theory :P So Let's begin. 1) Pokemon are 'data' creatures: Hmm... yeah I agree that it's possible. So yeah. 2) Prof Oak is Evil: Again, it's an interesting theory and nothing to fully to disprove it. So yeah. 3) The Anime and Games share a timeline. Well, here's the thing with that. First of all, I'll give you the Alan (or however you spell it) though if hoenn DOES take place during the same time as Kanto... Then how do you explain in Let's Go (and I pretty sure FR, LG, and even yellow) that Misty and/or Brock mentions wanting to go travel the region? The context they use is that they never have, thus it conflix with that. THEN you have the Dr. Fugi thing... uh, no. it's a game tie in. The reason why Dr. Fugi is in the anime with creating Mewtwo because he WAS in the games and helped create Mewtwo. It's a game tie in. Plus, the Hoenn ark of the anime debuncts that since in it, Team Magma and Aqua are going after the orbs BUT they not only succeed, but also 'learn their lesson' just like in the games. Yet in the games, they not only are randomly back to their old ways.. BUT, it's clear that they haven't done it before. 4) Quagsire is really a Ditto. Well, two things wrong with this. First, we actually SEE Wooper evolve into Quasire. Unless you're saying the Quasire quickly teleports away and a ditto jumps in it's place. Second, You have to know that the Ditto face thing... is an anime thing. In the games it's a complete copy. Though, even then the Ditto in question was just struggling with properly using the move. It wasn't a "All ditto's can't change their face". 5) Komala's not the Pokemon, the log is: Uh... Why would they say "Komola is given their log at birth" if the Komola Wasn't the bear?
I also would argue that, for GRAMPS, why would the initials of evil organizations who by this logic have nothing to do with Oak? Mainly Aqua and Magma. I also don't see why Blue would check in on Flare by this logic.
@@MinatheRaichu Well, while I think it's just interesting as a theory and there's no concrete evidence that he is or isn't there's a few possible things that could be going on with that. 1) Blue may simply not know that Oak's evil. 2) Perhaps, they're unwillingly working for him. Like Aqua/Magma, like maybe Oak told them where to find the Red and Blue orbs. Or Team Galatic and the legendary lake trio. Nonetheless, I just find the theory interesting even though in my 'mind canon' he's not evil.
While you are completely right about #4, I haven't seen anyone mention the sun and moon anime episode in aether paradise where they said that ditto couldn't change its face (which confused me because of the kanto episode, but... it happened.)
An interesting detail about the diary entries that record the creation of Mewtwo is that they suggest that Mew was used as a surrogate mother to carry the fetus of the cloned Pokemon Mewtwo, which only makes sense if you ignore the existence of Pokemon Eggs; since the diary entries were written in Gen 1, before the mechanics of Pokemon breeding were established in Gen 2.
I heard a theory before that the Professor Oak you meet in RBY is really an imposter and that's why he can't remember his own grandson's name or even who you are despite being your next door neighbor for years. The imposter has managed to imitate Oak pretty well and no one seems to notice that he is a fake.
10:27 GameTheory, that Granbull is a Street Fighter III Third Strike Reference by name alone Edit: I like how Wooper deconfirms the entire Quagsire theory
Komala theory has some basis, but I would like to raise you that it's more similar to Paras/ect and the log is mind controlling the Koala to move around. We can see the log teaming up with Greninja in Smash Bros, so it is able to exist without a Koala attached.
I don't think it'd really have an impact, with none of the authors knowing what to do with him. I mean, didn't he just recently turn 11? When he should be at least 14 or 15?
First theory makes me think of Cultivation Chat Group where MC gets a cultivation technique expecting something mystical and what he receives is a flash drive.
@@FoxflameGoddess sorry, its been so long since I made this comment and back then quagmire from family guy was the only thing about quagmire I've ever known😅
In the theory with the Mr. Fuji thing. The portrait looks like Blaine, the 7th gym leader. You'll never know Blaine was actually the one who worked with Mewtwo. Like the pokemon timeline and it makes much more sense
I doubt that Komala Log doesn't have any eyes like you said, The Komala Log actually has 3 holes on the Log that could very well be the eyes. It's not absurd to me since we've seen sentient grass type, extremely plant-like pokemon before, I mean look at something like Seedot, Phantump, Foongus, etc. The Komala theory is actually pretty substantial to me. A terrible theory is one without basis, the Komala theory actually has basis. I mean if Paras & Parasect are bug pokemon with sentient parasitic mushrooms growing and taking control of them. Slowbros & Slowkings are Slowpoke living in symbiotic relationships with a Shellder, Then the Koala & the Log could be a part of those two different types of relationships.
People still can call it koala bear, just like we call it a red panda even though it isn’t a panda. Or a sea horse even though it isn’t a horse. It’s just a nickname
Theory: team rocket are directly responsible for at least 3 mega evolutions, if not more. When the great weapon was first used, it wound up killing many pokemon, the great amount of energy here caused the life energies of these pokemon to get trapped in specific stones. This is a brief explanation of why we have megas in the first place. However there's a mega for Mewtwo, who was created thousands of years after the great weapon, how could Mewtwo possibly have a mega, let alone two? The only other two mega pokemon is Charizard, the fire type starter of the same region Mewtwo was created in. The starter of the same type that the Cinnabar Island gym leader controls, the same island where Mewtwo was created. My theory is that megas are created when large amounts of energy are channeled through either a singular pokemon, like cloning would do, or through a group of pokemon, like the great weapon forced onto the waring pokemon. Mewtwo X is angry and out to fight everything, while Y is more placid and much more like Mew, like it's original form. Charizard Y is so much more like it's regular form than X is, X seems to be a more corrupted version. Dr Fuji was planning to clone Mew, buy due to a lack of DNA they could only attempt it once, so to get the process right, they would have practised on another Pokemon, they chose Charizard for this, as Blaine would likely have had one. Upon finally getting it right, they found a darkened stone with the cloned Charizard (Fuji gives the Charizardite X to Red I believe) and then they could finally try with Mew. When this worked, they found two stones this time around, one which eventually turned Mewtwo into the corrupted form, reminiscent of the torturous start it had, and the other which turned it into the more peaceful variant, similar to how it should have been. This isn't the only time that Team Rocket were seeing out high energy, tortuous experiments on pokemon who would later go on to have a dark mega evolution. The radio waves that went through the lake of rage, forcing mass evolutions on Gyarados could very well have been the catalyst for Mega Gyarados to come to existence, especially when you consider that Sycamore and Lysandre travelled various regions together, and Lysandre would go on to have a mega Gyarados.

I have always liked the idea of the anime taking place before the games. What also supports that in the B/W anime where Iris is traveling in hopes to become a better and stronger trainer while in B/W 2 she's the champ. Also Quagsire was never a real Pokemon but the original form that a ditto would create after transforming into others a few times, a form to call its own thats viable for battle dun Dun DUUH. The idea of Venustoise still lingers in my mind so fusing features to create ones own form in the Pokemon universe isnt that far out there.
ditto retaining its face after transforming is based on a singular ditto from the anime that wasn't able to change it's face, it's not an aspect of the entire species
To debunk the theory that the anime and games come in a chronological timeline. Professor Oak doesn’t have two grandsons. He has Gary in the anime and blue in the games. So yeah.
