It is so important that you show that this kind of journey is not only fantastic moments and smiling faces but it is also hard, cold and Full of doubts. I can almost feel your pain when is hard and share the joy when is good.
You will get into the routine of getting enough dinner and breakfast food and water, (including shower water) and then looking for a place to camp. You can always pour the shower water out if you decide you don't need it. I am so glad to see that I am not the only one that does not like spending a lot on accommodations.
Well done.. Nothing hurts like being super cold while camping. Also I'm proud of you for keeping that white top so clean and looking good while on the road
Haha about the white top, it got yellowish from all the sunscreen and after wearing it almost every day on that trip I had to (unfortunately) let go of it due to multiple rips and holes beyond repair 🥲
Really felt for you there when you were cold, tired and quite down looking for somewhere to camp. Glad you found somewhere in the end 😊 Keep the video's coming they are fantastic!
Love the honesty. I'm the same - I've stayed at holiday parks and freedom camps (the NZ term for wild camping), and I sometimes find the freedom camps better than the holiday parks in NZ. And they're free 😃 I started making vlogs about the freedom camps in case others want to stay there, but I've only made about five freedom camp vlogs so far.
Wild camping and Freedom camping are not the same. The former is discrete/hidden often unlawful. Freedom camping often means you're in the company of people you'd rather avoid - shitting and littering where they please, pissing up, shouting and playing music. They cannot leave nature alone, and are insensitive cretins. That is N.Z.
I will leave tomorrow morning for a wild camping bicycle tour across northern Spain. Thank you for your great video! I'm a little bit concerned with finding wild camping spots, and potentially getting fined. I don't have much experience and watching this makes me feel a lot better :)
Hello, my wife and I are loving your videos and plan to do the EV1 from Roscof down to Spain September 2023. Please could you tell us what size rack pack bags you are using, they look a little bigger than 31 litres is this correct? Kind regards Phil
Hey Alex, whats pretty girls name? You're riding at a reasonable altitude, so no wonder you feel cold. Make sure you are dressed for the weather and try to be happy by singing? haha. Thanks, and take care.
Thank you so much for your testemony. It always nice to see the "other side". Nevertheless after watching all your videos in this eurovelo1 series i have to say that i consider that you did a major mistake in planning this bike trip. If you want to stay offgrid and enjoy nature and silence, your bike rig cant be a bike touring one. Bike touring rigs only work well in tarmac and using tarmac is the opossite of nature and silence. Other thing that is opposite to enjoy nature and silence is doing this trip in June in beach areas. If you used a bikepacking rig, your trip would be much more rewarding. Im portuguese and i do aprox. 4000km/year offroad and i enjoy a lot nature and silence and agressive driving is not a problem. 😁Keep up cycling.
I have cycled many many times 140 to 160km before I could find a spot to put up my tent because of the vegetation...in Australia...we like it or not...that is part of what we love.Putting up your tent in the dark is not nice...but yes..that is all part of the challange !!!
That's not the main reasons. The main reason is economic. Spain relies heavily on tourist money. Campsites in Spain are too expensive. They are also noisy and attract thieves. Wild camping, or stealth camping eliminates the noise and thief problems. Also, I never light fires or leave litter.
scappati dalla spagna troppi problemi a fare campeggio libero pieno di divieti per tante cose la mia bici non andrà mai più in spagna la terra è grande
Please reply: sorry downvoted for the extremely annoying incessant background music, despite otherwise great content. Why do you think that ppl interested in peaceful cycle touring, camping , want music over everything? I really am curious- as a pro broadcast sound engineer - why you made that choice. does youtube peer pressure make you think you have to have incessant music for it to be good video? ... .
Obviously the concept of „tastes differ“ is something you have never heard before 🙃 Oh and I really am curious myself: are you aware of your ignorance? I never understood why people on the internet need to be like that….just don’t consume content you don’t like and move on with your life, Jesus.
I didn't find the background music extremely annoying nor incessant. I think these videos are very well filmed and edited. I enjoy them very much. If you are so critical and intolerant how do you manage cycle touring where some times you have to put up with much discomfort or irritations? Take a chill pill. Troll.
So what? If you need permission to wild camp then it's not for you. I've wild camped all over Spain, travelling with a small daypack and ultralight gear. Just put my bivi down somewhere discreet and get some sleep. Simple.
@Empty Jampot obviously, you care only for you want and you do as you like, fine but for all of us that do care for others and have respect for other people customs and laws, remember that wild camping is Ilegal in Spain, unless you have permission from the owners.
@@emptyjampot6634 What has the aesthetic quality of a country got to do with how you travel through it? It will still be beautiful or ugly whatever means of transport you choose to take.
@@alexmorgan3435don't be silly. People who cycle tour long distances do so for the scenery. Much of Spain is boring. France is a much more interesting country to tour.
