As a towtruck roadside assistance. Really appreciate the gas cap being on the passenger side. It's safer to be on that side of the car if it runs out of gas on the hiway.
I feel pretty certain this issue is the result of the fact that the Chevy Cruze is actually a rebadged Holden Cruze…. Designed for the Australian market which means right hand drive vehicles. If you were an engineer and you were trying to import an Australian vehicle to the states, would you really want to pay the extra cost to stamped sheet metal, manufacture filler necks, and make a mirror image of a gas tank just to sell them in a country that does not necessitate left versus right on any vehicle whatsoever… By law that is?
I own an F150 and rented a Chevy Cruze. I was really impressed with its handling and I prefer the gas intake on the passenger side (the lines are shorter at the gas station).
Car manufacturers put gas caps on the driver's side for half of all vehicles they sell and on the passenger's side for the other half. This is to make life easier for gas stations.
I have a 2011 & I have had no problems with mine, I don't have any of the upgrades like remote car starter or sunroof. I only have 60,000 miles on mine though cuz I had brain surgery and couldn't drive for a while. I absolutely love my car! I live in New Hampshire & it's held up in 7 winters now so that's pretty impressive to me!
MegzToyReviewz this is great to hear! I’m looking at buying a 2011 Chevy Cruze myself. I’ve been hearing a lot of negative things about the car but I had my doubts.
@@AlejandraHdez I slid off the road into a snow bank one time but that was cuz I was going to fast around a corner 😂 I didn't get any damage, I just got stuck & had to climb out the window cuz the snow was so high up on my door 🤦🏻♀️.
It’s actually a decent complaint considering most of the tanks are dead center on these cars unlike the trucks, which means it isn’t any more difficult to just put the filler neck on the driver side rather than passenger side of the tank
I have a 2013 LT2 RS M/T. Had a problem with my key fob not working as well as it used to. Switched it out with my second one, works great. One thing I do hate is that if my key is in my pocket, sometimes my trunk will open even though the car is locked.
I really enjoyed this video because I thought there were going to be "surprises" that I haven't dealt with yet. That was not the case. I love your relaxing voice, your dog, and your property. I Love my 2011 Cruze ECO. It's a 6-speed Manual, so no Remote starter. (Luckily I have a garage). I don't like that gas cap on the Right either. Durango's on the left, Cruze's on the right... I get confused. I had to stop drinking. I didn't know that the center armrest moves until year 5 or 6. It didn't "lock" as you said, so I was really missing Nothing. I am sorry that they stopped making them. 135,000 miles and keeping it "Mint" because I like the 37+ mpg. It lacks Intensity going uphill, but on the straight-away it's "kickass" ! :-)
The gas cap location isn’t a problem. It really doesn’t matter what side it’s on. Although it is safer if you have to fill the tank while on the side of the road.
Nice review! I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze base line and the power steering symbol light up and the message displayed power steering low on the message display. Problem is where is the power steering reservoir located? I turn the car off waited a few minutes and restarted with no message displayed. Tried this several times, once again no displayed message. Some RU-vidrs have stated it’s the battery because the power steering is electrical. What are your views on this?
Yeah my remote start can start from almost a footbAll field and a half away but it won’t lock/unlock till ur right on it and ins is $320 because of the rs
I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that the reason for the higher insurance for this car in general is due to the fact it has a turbocharger, no matter the output the cars gives I believe insurance companies habe a standard policy to charge more just because it has a turbo. But I am hoping not because I just bought a 2012 Cruze LT RS 😞
You are correct sir! I know from experience after having owned 2 different turbocharged cars, that my insurance was higher than normal, especially when having collision coverage on a policy... I've had an insurance agent tell me that generally any car with a turbo from the factory will have a higher number on their symbol index ratings list. It certainly stinks and is'n't fair, but I guess their statistics prove that cars with turbos get into more accidents...:(
Touch the key fob to your head, acts like an antenna. Works with my truck because at first I didn't believe it. Sometimes I can remote start my cruze from across the parking lot. Also, my insurance is pretty high but I thought it was because I just turned 21?
I have a 2012 Cruze RS, and I have a love hate relationship, lol. Yes, insurance is SUPER expensive compared to other cars, I could have bought a new 2017 Elantra Sport and be 30 bucks cheaper a month compared to the Cruze. I also have the same headlight issue as well. Any mechanical issues? I've been through two transmissions, 1 valve cover gasket, trunk switch, wheel hub, and two coil packs/spark plugs. My car just turned over 57k today. I have videos on my channel if your interested.
I bought myself a 2015 Chevy Cruze in January! I love it so much, my insurance isn't bad at all with this car, it's actually less than what I was paying for my truck I used to have.
CRITTER 😍 yeah don’t buy a Cruze still have mine and about to get rid of it. It’s a lemon and a fixable one if you’re lucky like me... in contrast my key fob works from very far away, if I have my keys in my pocket it will open my trunk randomly while I’m inside ??
I have no issues with my Chevy Cruze RS I change out the turbo lower my car 2 and 1/2 inches only thing I did not like about my cruise it was so damn hard to find some wheels for it
Have you had any transmission issues with your cruze mine is in the shop now. It's a 2013 I have been very unhappy with mine one problem after the other.
My 13 has transmission issues. Constantly going up to 6thousand-7thousand rpms before shifting. If you punch it even a tiny bit it'll drop 2 to 3 gears and go right up to 6 grand and you don't go anywhere. INCREDIBLY annoying
Nick Dahlstrom wow yes I feel your pain .when I wrote that comment mine was in shop for a wk the seal had a crack or something was leaking transmission fluid like crazy thankfully I have a extended warranty but mine has been worked on several times with that "serging " issue. I've been so disappointed with this car.
Nope use midgrade... premium is unnecessary but regular kills some of your performance ESPECIALLY when the AC on... people might say theres no need for midgrade but i promise you youll notice the difference... i spend $30 on my tank from empty too...
I have a 2016.5 Cruze RS and I only use Premium. For turbocharged applications it's always a better idea to use full synthetic oil and premium gas. Especially for the longevity aspect of your car. Premium is a preventative against 'engine knock'. Also if your knock sensors go out, premium will reduce the amount of engine knock present.
me too hated that thing the first day i had the cruze i ordered door and sun roof wind defectors and the ugly sun roof deflector screen mesh thing pops right off without tools i did this and put on the plastic one took 2 minutes to get it out. if anyone is in need of a replacement please let me know.
I have a 2013 Cruze LT. My biggest complaint is the legroom especially the foot room (pedals). Feels like I’m driving in a clown car I’m heavily debating trading it in because it’s just uncomfortable to drive especially when my heels are clicking every time I brake
@@romioamante7886 No! Not a good choice for a reliable car. In fact, my mechanic said this is probably the worst car that he has to deal with on a regular basis. So I wouldn't recommend this car for long term. Sorry, and stay blessed and healthy.
I have the Buick Verano and it’s related to Chevy Cruze but Buick put some very healthy engines with much bigger horsepower numbers in the Buick Verano zoom, zoom !
Well I just bought 2015 chevy Cruze, I still don’t know much but one thing It might work is if your car fob has any problems push the key button and then take off the cap and there is a battery somethime it’s low on the battery and if you change it and probably it will solve the issue. Lmk if this works for you 😊
I dont have the petrol filler flap problem, being in Australia its on the drivers side, but the Chevy does have alot more features than the Holden cruze
if the insurance puts some of yall of the cruze but you like the car otherwise, consider going for the naturally aspirated 1.8L version. it has the same horsepower, but lower 0-60 as well as slightly worse gas mileage (i get around 26 city 33 highway). I havent personally driven a cruze other than my LS model so i cant really compare drivability, but i don't have any complaints other than it being generally slow. from what ive read, the 1.8 is more reliable in some ways, but you also dont get any of the bells and whistles you see in this video. I don't have a sunroof, alloy wheels, remote start, or cruise control, which does get annoying on long trips. but all i really need to be happy in my car is a way to play music from my phone. the LS also has the option of a manual if that's your style.
Have a 2011 that's been nothing but problems heat issues, check engine light for a broken rod on the intake that's$1000 to fix , multiple electrical issues and my trunk will be open every morning when I come out to work, biggest piece of crap I ever owned glad I'll be rid of it soon
I don’t really understand what your complaining about sir. The gas pump on the opposite side? The keys aren’t working from the distance you want them to work? The arm rest isn’t big enough and it doesn’t slide? The headlight has a rust spot on the inside of it, which a car is supposed to have soon if it’s being used. That was nothing to upload on RU-vid you actually could have kept it to yourself, I mean you’re complaining about little things on the car that shouldn’t even matter. I’m sure you seen the car and checked it out before you purchased it, if you knew it wasn’t nothing you wanted then why purchase it??
My Mrs has a cruze her petrol door is on the right hand side but so is here steering wheel I myself have a Jeep Laredo my cap is on the left hand side and I drive on the r/h side
My complaints on my 2011 lz, 200,00kms Valve cover, pcv valve, coolant, coil pack, crank case seal, downtube cat. Will change, pcv bypass, downtube catless
Gas- ur lazy Remote - dont be stupid Armrest - poor baby Sunroof - just take it off Headlights - every car lights gets ugly. Conclusion: be greatful you have a car.
Not wanting to hear anyone talk about things they dislike about a car yet clicks a video "5 things i hate". Just to leave a pointless comment none cares about. Conclusion - get a life.
2011 Cruze owner the thing I hate the most is the fact I have to turn my car completely off and take the key out to pop the truck ... I also agree the armrest is TRASH But I love my blue baby !
Insurance might have something to do with visibility. How low is the seat compared to the window height. Why do the newer cars have the windows up so high & the seats cannot be adjusted very high relative to the windows? Is there a hump to look over to park & reverse? Is it difficult to enter & exit and where are the dome light controls?
A thing a hated about my Chevy Cruze was it was very small and the gear shift was literally just slapped in the middle they didn’t care where they put it because somtimes since I’m 6,0 I slap it into manual with my knee and be driving 40 on first gear and if my passenger was big enough they would do the same thing and I would never know
I have a 2012 Chev Cruze LT and I love it but I hate how when I use my heat it takes about 5-7 mins to actually blow heat out instead it just blows cold air. I also hate the arm rest as well.
Since you hate your car can I have it. I really need a new Chevy Cruze as I drove mine over 230k miles and it’s wearing out. I can’t find another in good condition.
I have a 2012 chevy cruze. wish to god I could go back and say screw this pos. I have round 57k miles on it and it leaks anti freeze which I don't know where atm but gonna get looked at soon. I pay round $100 a month for full coverage which imo is pretty expensive for what I thought was an economy car. if you're lookin to buy 1 DONT!
You know what I hate about my cruise? All the cam cover replacements the engine oil cooler lines the upper and lower radiator hoses and I could go on and on.
Lmaoo. 3 cam covers, 2 water pumps and a whole bunch of other HVAC system repairs throughout the years. Haven’t driven my 1.4T in almost a month because the 2nd turbo just failed.
@@90sGasPrices I traded mine in when the check engine light turned on in front of another dealer. I bought another crappy new car. My brother is a master mechanic and he said they all are junk these days. Except for Japanese cars.
My 2013 Cruze insurance was not bad until I renewed in November 2017. My Cruze insurance with Liberty Mutual went up 56% from 2016 which made it more 28% higher than my 2000 Corvette. I ended up switching my insurance to Progressive which lowered my insurance overall. Now my Cruze insurance is about $8 less than my Corvette. I agree with you on the center armrest. That is a terrible design, the short armrest pad and the fact it does not lock in the forward position makes the armrest almost useless. A couple of additional things I do not like is the fact the HVAC blower switch knob is on the right side and the temperature is on the left side. All the cars I have ever owned have always had the blower knob/switch on the left side closest to the driver and mode or temperature on the right side. I believe that may have happened due to the car originally being designed in a right hand drive configuration maybe for Japan, England or Australia. The other thing I do not like is the door lock switch being on the instrument panel. There should be one door lock switch on each front door.
My insurance on my 2014 Cruze 2LT RS is $276.86 per month over 11 months and i'm an 18 year old male. I pay less for my Cruze and my old Saturn Astra XR3 than I did just for my Astra.
The problem with the remote start in the receiver. Due to where you put it in your car. My family is a cruze family and we all have that problem. Spend like 200 or more on just the receiver and you should be good. I have a 2014 turbo (1.4l swap) and live in maine so I have to remote start alot due to weather
75$ insurance state farm...i think its.a.cool car.and i have one and its 6 speed pretty.fast..it will.suprise.u...have alot.of.engine problems..hopefully.those.are.behind me
