Not much is spoken about my particular medical job in the military, Air Force to be exact. I am a mental health technician in the air force and I wanted to share the pros and cons of my military job so people can figure out how to deceide what air force career is right for them. In this particular video i go over 5 things I hate or rather dislike about my job and some reasons why. Please rememer all of this is just entertainment and my own Perosnal experiences. These are my own thoughts/ experiences and do not reflect the Air Force or US Military whatsoever.

They gate keep, when I asked about the job you have, I was told it was not a thing. I’d cross train since my degrees are in psych.

yah a lot don't even know its a thing, did they already give you a different job? also its a rare job to get so maybe thts why too

@@DomingaShataun I’ve been in since 2019 as a flight medic, a 4C slot opened up while I was getting ready to head out to flight school. It’s not that’s it’s rare, you just have to know where to look for openings & who to talk to.

I can't speak for any jobs cause I'm still working on getting in, BUT I do know paralegal is low manned and had a low number of applicants. I think it may be air force-wide. I read a few months ago that across all the branches recruitment was the lowest since the Vietnam war. Roll out of Genesis I'm sure has not helped that number.

The low man is literally me because I'm a diet technician and we never have enough to get through a good week without feeling like maybe 1 or 3 people would be helpful.

thank you for making this video. I am currently in the process of becoming a mental health technician and havent been to get much insight about it. I am still waiting for the extra security clerance to get this job but dont know if it worth the wait.

Your number 1 dislike is the reason am gonna pic this job , (why would I complain abt sitting all day and watching Netflix on my laptop when am not working ???) , But for real the job I want is client systems or optometry.

Questions: Did you wait for an opening and choose this field to go into after you leave the AF? if so, do you know what will be different about this field/position in the civilian world? As you rank up (like to your supervisor's rank) - what will be different about your job?

In my experience, I waited until this job was open and went in with it. Not super savvy on this position in the civilian world, however, if you want to be a mental health psychologist or psychiatrist FOR SURE, than definitely think about going to school if you can BEFORE and go in as an officer, if you can't, then this would still be a great military job to have if you want this as a long term career. As you rank up as a technician you get more responsibilities , you can also work in the substance abuse program with pts. however this is just my experience so could be different, and also have to remember unless you are a Dr/liscened psychologist or psychiatrist you arent going to be doing continual counseling with the same pt, you are mostly there for those initial appts and possible groups. (take this all with a grain of salt lol) but hope that helps!

Hey there Dominga, I hope you reply to this. I just watched your asvab 4 times video and guess what. I am in the same situation.. I took my first asvab, didn’t get a score I wanted, took a retest last week they said I scored 20 points or higher and now I have to take a confirmation test.. So my next question is if the confirmation test is very similar to the asvab retest I just took or is it more difficult? is it similar formulas differently worded questions ? Same difficulty? Similar words, similar math problems, similar paragraph comprehension? I already know it's another full asvab so every section is same difficulty or how was it for you if you remember? If I got 20 points or higher on the retest I shouldn't have a problem passing this confirmation test then ? Do you think it's a good idea to study for the week just so I can score the highest so it won't be considered a fail ? I just don't want to fail this confirmation test I don't want to wait 6 months, I was hoping to get this journey started early this year
