Well I bought my 2014 ram 1500 around the same time you did there are only 6 differences in mine. 1. Mine has an 8 speed transmission so there goes one complaint 2. Mine came with both parking sensors and a backup camera so there goes number 2 3. I have never experienced the rattle on my doors (it is a crew cab so it is still the same doors) 4. I have the other headlights that came with it. They are actually pretty good when it comes to visibility but I must say yours look much nicer. 5. I got a nice big red one so number 4 is taken care of 6. I know these were not mentioned but mine also has 4 wheel drive and a nice 6 1/4 ft bed So at the end of the day it looks like my truck is pretty dang perfect if those are the only complaints about the thing lol.

Got a work truck and expect a luxury version is all I hear..... why didn't you get the laramie edition

Answer for the rattling issue and it might be tacky but I'm a fidgety person. I put a tennis ball in the storage space on the driver and passenger side and that helped so much!!! It's worth a shot.

there is a aftermarket option to add a back up camera that is plug and play and runs off your factory radio. I have installed a few and they work well. it comes with a new tailgate handle with the camera built in. takes about 1hr to install.

I drive a 2015 1500 ram (first ram I have bought) every day and love it! No rattle with music, acceleration is snappy though I have the 8 speed. I have put over 100k on it already with no work besides manufacture recomended. Best vehicle I have ever owned

Just bought a '15 Ram 1500 yesterday and watched your 8 things you hate video today. Dude you are spot on. When you were talking about black paint I couldn't have agreed with you more. I used to own a black Impreza WRX and said the same exact thing, "I will never buy another black car again!" and now here I am with a black truck. I own 2 ram 1500 4 wheel drive quad cab pickups 2014 and have not had a problem with either of them yes they are the top of the line and yes they have every option but they are very quiet and very comfortable to drive, I have not had a single problem whit either truck , my wifes has 40,000 miles and mine has 32,000 on it we both have the 8 speed trans witch is a better choice witch makes it bullit prof but i've also have owned both GMC and ford and have nothing bad to say about either truckat the end of the day they all haul things and get from a to b so it's personnel preference as to what you want to drive

I love jeep, dodge, Chrysler but not all cars/trucks are perfect. I’ll take a dodge truck any day.

I have a 2015 with the 5.7 in a 8speed. Its really smooth and responsive. The cabin is quiet. really like it. But they are all nice nowadays. You want road noise. Drive my 04 forester xt. Its loud and annoying

That’s why I had to have a back up camera on my truck. These rams are huge and idc how much you drive it, it’s a very hard truck to tell how close you are to something when you back these up. I have a 2017 and the rattles are there too! It’s in my drivers door too. Headlight output does suck.

all these trucks range from low 20s to mid 50s so yes there is a lot a room for disappointment if u don't buy the right optioned one your not going to love your vehicle.i have 12 sport and still love it came with decent options

For me it seems like ram is a very budget oriented company for trucks. Like work trucks first car etc do to its very basic features. The upper types do seem like very nice ones with the air lift suspension and all these side boxes on the bed etc

My 8-speed 5.7 liter sort of hesitates when I floor it, but when it kicks in it has plenty of push. Even if I'm going uphill at 90 MPH.

$30 a month in Dallas I have unlimited exterior car washes with tire shine etc right next to my job. Every other day at lunch washing it. That’s how I solved the black paint. Lol

Black paint is gorgeous when it's clean. Problem is, it's never clean unless you wash daily. I'll never own a black vehicle again. White is awful too, but I honestly think black is just as bad, if not worse.

Good review, what he said at the end, Chevy, Ford, RAM, Toyota and Nissan all build awesome trucks! After years of owning Tacos, as good as they are, never dreamed just how great a full size pickup is, comfort is unreal fuel economy ain't bad, my dad had an 80 something F250 with 4wd with manual and a 460, might have got 8mpg, had 2 tanks and needed them, was uncomfortable Road awful and due to someone putting a steel flat bed on it and screwing up the filler, took about 30 minutes to fill it up, he lived it, but it was really a bad truck.

Also, please don't put HID's in halogen projectors. They don't function as well. Swap in some HID projectors with some good HID bulbs. Light output will be better than high end luxury cars

you'll love the 6 speed over the 8 speed when it comes to towing, fucking 8 speed doesn't know what gear it wants to be in sometimes while hauling which is a pain in the ass. put a Mopar intake on it for the throttle response.

You got the wrong gear ratio or you would love that 6 speed.

Well that's what happens when you purchase the most basic model of a vehicle...any other trim option would practically resolve all of your complaints. I drive a 2015 white sport with 8 spd transmission and it drives like a dream. Also has a backup camera and all of the front and rear sensors you can ask for. I guess the message is you get what you pay for.

Hey my first experience with owning a Dodge pick up is a 2015 black express I disagree about my headlights but appreciate your opinion and I personally I have had some of the same issues with mine but I bought mine new so far everything is been fixed except something you.pointed out about the cruise control I'm still under warranty i'll have that fixed but so far my first experience owning a ram 1500 overall is good. Like you said every truck has problems right now I have plans to get another unless something goes really south. Keep up your vids good job

Yeah the 8 speed is very much better. I put a K&N cold air intake, and a flow master 40 on mine and throttle response is already way better, I'm still going to do a throttle body but the intake and exhaust helps significantly

The sweet sound system loosened all the screws in my doors. I took the panels off and tightened the loose screws to fix this

I have a 2016 the throttle response is shit. I believe it is purposeful to help them reach their mileage numbers. And the back up camera in the 2016 is so hokey you still can't tell where you are when backing. I have the same shitty rattle in the door.

Transmission has nothing to do with the throttle response, turn off traction control and it works just fine ;) I have a 13' and its pretty damn fast to get going on a roll

I have the same Chrysler black paint on my 2016 Challenger. Same problems with the paint. Really considering putting C Quarts on the paint.

You probably don't have the 3.92 gear ratio. I have the 3.92 with the 8 speed and that shit puts me where I want to be.

Thought this video was about 5 things this dude hates about the Ram 1500..... sorry but the black paint ain’t the truck’s fault so technically the video should be titled, “4.... things I hate about the Ram 1500”. I realize this video is old talking about the 2014 Ram but at least the 2018 Ram I intend to order here pretty soon does at least come standard with the backup camera on the tailgate plus it comes with the ParkSense system on the front and rear bumper. Oh, and I’ve test-driven the 1500 with the 8-speed..... it is nice. Much better than the 6-speed in the current 3/4-tons. As far as the headlights sucking? Well, I can’t speak for that but I would say that most stock headlights are never that great because they put in cheap, not-so-bright bulbs. I just recently put a new set of fancy aftermarket projector headlights on my 08 Ram and, I never had a chance to verify the poor reviews of them being reported to not being very bright because during the installation, I yanked out the cheesy bulbs that were in there and put in those Silverstar ZxE bulbs and, they’re pretty bright. I was impressed. Highbeams aren’t worth a crap because they don’t throw any light to the sides of the road but a set of BriteBoxes fixed that now that the lowbeams stay on with the highbeams. Am I gonna run into that problem with my new truck when I get it? I hope not but I tell ya one thing - new, brighter headlight bulbs is probably going to be one of the first upgrades I do.

Mine a 2010 has pedal to far from brake pedal and I keep slipping my foot off the gas pedal. Distance to far apart and brake peels sits up higher

Lol the paint thing is hilarious. My old ram that I still have sitting in a lot is Black and she is gorgeous. Still get complimented on it but its a full time job for that one. Then I got an '10 ram silver and I think in the 7 months that I owned it I washed it once...always looked clean. Then I switched to a '12 outdoorsman thats Black and holy shit I cant keep that guy clean for more than 2 days its ridiculous. Black paint looks the best but You cant keep it clean. Cant offroad either.

The 8 speed takes some time to get used but after its pretty amazing.

This truck with a 8 speed with a 5.7l is ridiculously awesome. I LOVE it. Definitely feels like a hot rod and the only truck I've owned that even when you punch it you literally barely feel it shift. Just feels like it floats.

I have none of these issues because I paid for a Laramie with the Hemi

This guy belongs in a Prius! As a 20 year mechanic the 6 speed transmission is more reliable and easy to fix. For more power you need to flash the chip, put new manifolds on it, quit being a girl, grab a wrench, take your door panel off, and tighten the bolts down on your speakers genius. Definitely needs a prius

For the backup issue just put a hitch back there and wait till you hit the wall with it. That's what we did as valets a hitch doesn't matter as much as your back bumper.

i have owned 2 2014 expresses. my first one was a 6 spd, no back up camera and quad headlights. my second express has an 8spd, back up cam and projectors and trust me.. the projectors are way better than the regular (quad) lights. i tuned it, and its a totaly different truck. added hid's and i can see everything. you gotta mod these trucks to get that connected feeling. they have a lot if potential but they sell them to modest people so they are "eh" out of the factory. my ram is fast as fk and fun as hell to drive now. sell your shit get one with an 8 spd and tune it, you wont regret it!

Installed a Blackhawk K&N cold air intake in my 2014 Ram 1500. It makes a noticeable difference with throttle repsonse & it helps make the engine sound really sweet! After putting it in, I couldn't stop smiling when testing 0-60!!

F150 owner here, love it, but not a better looking truck on the road than the RAM! If money wouldn't have mattered I'd be driving a RAM Rebel in red.

Black is a pain, but a blacked out vehicle is very hot. Mine gets a lot of looks even when it's not perfectly clean ;)

I agree with the headlight issue. I have a 2012 and the headlights suck horribly. A car behind me can drown out my headlights. Street lights make it impossible to see the beams and I live in the mountains where the roads are pitch black and you can barely see the road at night.

Put a k&n cool air on her and a super chip tuner you'll love it my ram hits 145mph easy and she's a 6 speed

American companies can build trucks. All 3. I'm personally a Ford guy when it comes to trucks. I did, however, have a 17 Ram 1500 for a month. I took it back. Specs say 10k lb towing capacity. Bullshit! That truck strained the entire time I was towing by boat. Fortunately, they allowed me to back out of the deal. Otherwise, I had absolutely no complaints about that truck.

I actually lucked out with getting a 2017 ram 1500 with only 62k miles & I’m slowly seeing that the previous owner upgraded this truck to the fullest but I wish it was black but it’s a red wine color & it’s slowly growing on me because hardly anyone I see with this color on a truck

I have a loaded Laramie and absolutely love it.Ruggedish outside and Luxury inside, 8 speed tranny is the way to go. IMO when you buy something just bite the bullet and get it loaded , it goes on your financing anyways . So you don't have to bitch about the 6 speed tranny and not having camera or parking sensor etc.

If u want a better transmission and throttle responds hit the tow/haul button. It's like a "sport" mode for the truck (I have multiple ram 1500 5.7 hemis)

Problem #3 you should put dynamat so you get better sound and no rattles

If you haven't already or still have the truck, replace the OEM seal on the 3rd brake light it will save your headliner eventually.

2. Get Android head unit with 6.0. $. No need shitty HID, jus get Nightbraker/+100 etc regular bulbs with higher brightness
