When do you actually look at the gear changer? You just get used to it? It's fairly intuitive, twist forward to go, backward to reverse. I have absolutely no problem finding it on mine, you will certainly get used to it. I find it much easier than the dial that used to be in the middle in my Sorento. I get what you say about the climate control, but tbh the only one I use is the screen and I can see that no problem.

I am definitely getting used to reaching for it now after a few more days. My ID4 has a similar design but it is easier to reach. Also it is the start/stop button that is hardest for me. I just have to reach down to get to it to stop the car. I love the car -- these are minor complaints.

Fair enough. I don't have an issue reaching it although I still do try and use the start stop button on the left where it was in my Sorento@@EVTipsAndTricks

I don't mind any of these five points. Glossy buttons are great, matte ones get scratched soon and it's ugly. I'm bothered by the moving recuperation paddles with the steering wheel. I had a Mitsubishi PHEV and there the paddles were stationary, it was more practical.

Great! These are just minor points for sure. I am enjoying my EV9.

Hi, I am proud new owner of Land AWD, and love every bit of it, Kia designer did amazing job designing this vehicle but made some stupid DUMB mistakes, let me write down here: 1). Yes the drive shifter and on off knob should have been else where or at least could have made it bit angled and curvy like old Ford vehicle has, I got used to now and it is okay. 2)Temperature control screen always hide but I just learn to lean forward to get a glimpse, after all we do not change it much often, I mostly drive it in driver only mode. 3) No walk away lock? really, you will have to touch the loxk on the handle or use the key, I never used the keyfob ( ever) and only use the digital key on my Apple watch and iPhone- I think Kia can enable the walk away lock through software uodate as car already have the hardware, it unlocks when you walk towards the car. 4) as you mentioned Kia should have probite a bit storage by the cup holder, the bottom section is good but I find it difficult to use it, at least they could have make the cup holder section little bit lift up where user can raise the section to store the things in bottom space. 5) Cool seat option, I have to enable every time I drive jin hot weather, it should be on Auto. 6) steering control is on wrong side, after driving over 12+ vehicles, I have never seen Audio knob on right side, most of the time it is on left side and your Cruise and lane assist is mostly on right side? 7) lock sensor should have been on all door handle, it is only on 2 front door?

100% agree with your first 3 points. Not deal breakers, but could be better. I don't mind the center console as it has lots of storage under it accessible from the 2nd row. I find I am able to store everything I need up front under the arm rest, down on the floor, in the driver's door, and in the glove box l. I don't mind the shiny buttons at all.

The thing that amazed me about the EV9 is, that it being a seriously big car (in European standards at least) my 1.90m (6.2ft) son does not fit on the backseat. How in the world can you build a moving house and not have enough headroom for, what in our standard is, a normal sized male? It prevented me from buying one.

Do you mean the middle row or the third row? The third row is tight. The second row is very spacious. Our 6'1" son fits easily. Not in the third row though.

@@EVTipsAndTricksSecond row. The seats of the chairs, at least in the version we tried, are high, and his head touches the ceiling. 🤷‍♂🤷‍♂

@@allertschallenberg1857 I'm wondering. The car I tried had captain chairs on the second row. So it had a 6 person configuration. Does yours as well?

@@TomEugelink I have the 6-seater version with the swivel seats. Is that the one you tried?
