G haha sorry man. But honestly, it’s not that bad. Just gotta take some time to get used to. The rear window issue could’ve been dealt with if professional glass installers installed it. Not my dumbass
Fortune7 Germany BUT I LIKE LIVING LIFE ON THE EDGE MY BROTHER haha I like the way the Veilside mirror looks even though it doesn’t provide good side visibility lol
Make your own lock mechanism bro like I did and for the headlights I removed the glass cause I had the same issue with dirt. Also I kept my side mirrors cause and kept my original tailgate. Hope you get it fixed with the gas cap 👍🏽 Stay safe brother😊
@@EbolaSquirrel Yes, and my dream has always been to fix it up with a Veilside kit and build 800HP 2jz Engine engine in it (along some other minor racier things). The problem is $$$...or rather lack of. These Veilside kits are expensive!!!
@@DJUwU yeah....also swapping a 2jz. You cant throw any engine into any chassis, and wiring an engine from one manufacturer to another manufacturers chassis would be a nightmare, then fitting parts to get to that 800hp would be even harder, then you couldn't daily drive it safely or efficiently neither.
@@EbolaSquirrel Yeah, good thing I don't want to drive it for groceries and normal daily driving stuff. It'll be my show off/pleasure driver in that final form- I'll get an cheap toyota/honda SUV for utility. 800HP is easy (from what I've researched)....as long as you order a Mazworx 2jz Engine Billet (used in custom race cars designed to handle 2000+HP), and pay someone to build it and tune it for you at 800HP! Again, its a $$ issue to get it powerful, and even more $$ to get it reliable and powerful. I reckon 800HP Mazworx custom build will be much more reliable than any other supercar with 800HP- since 2jzs are solid tank designs to start off with...combined with a custom racing billet and head casket designed never to go above 40% of its capable output! Again, its the dream....and reality is its gonna be in project form until I get rich...
1st problem : i think u should use transparent sealant 2nd problem : adapt a gas cap from an audi tt that gas cap looks really clean and luxury just like your rx-7 for the headlights should use a material called foamy (en méxico we use it for handmade art) and make a border sealer without glue it you should put almost 3 cameras for the rear , reverse cameras ... sorry by the bad english , cheers
Im building one right now. Someone already mentioned these issues and after watching this video im convinced. Im going to keep the stock boot and make the adjustments. Wont use the glass on the headlights. Probably will keep the original sideview mirrors. Dont thing we can do much with the sideskirt. Do let me know if u get a chance how you planning to slove the issues
Ahmad Malik that’s awesome man. You’re going to fall in love with the results, trust me. Yeah I have a solution to the side skirts. Just haven’t executed due to corona. As much as I would like to see, I can’t bring my self to put the stock side view mirrors. I love the way the Veilside’s mirrors flow well with the rest of the kit. If I were going wingless, I’d go back to stock.
I’ve been lucky enough to build some cool cars in my life and I got to build one of these a few years ago. The owner of the car had us fix a lot of these issues but at the same time we were getting paid and putting hours upon hours into it. I will say the quality of the kit isn’t the greatest but all these are fixable. Still did a great job tho I’ve seen a few others in person that are really bad. Thanks for the vid I hope people can use this as a what to expect video for building one. Still better build quality than any mclaren tho 😂. Sick car man
LMAO you had me at mclaren hahahaha yeah the work we did was solid. Everything was reinforced. Only really issue are the rear lexan glass. Everything else, I don’t really care for
Great kit but too much hassle. If 17k with a That kind of shitty mirror that can’t auto adjust. Not worth it. I expect at least they will update the mirror size in 2020.
just curious what your job is to afford such nice cars. I know you work in the army and stuff, but can you be more specific and like how an approximate amount u make in a year. Because I plan on joining the navy right after highschool and live my dream building cars like you :)
JASON Le I get this question a lot. I think I’ll probably make a video explaining how I got these cars. You can actually look at my pay stubs online. What we make isn’t anything secret. Keep working hard man. The journey is more fun than the goal.
I'm gonna do two things..... 1) Use this video as the reason I don't have an FD or this kit instead of the whole finances reality. 2) I'm gonna pretend I don't see the "5 reasons the kit is rad" video in the sidebar.
How much is a veilside bodykit and where can I get it? I've always wanted an rx7 with this bodykit cause I loved tokyo drift since I was 3 back in 2006 lol
Jeff The Killer depends on what rx7 you’re referring to. Jdm rhd are worth less than lhd, comparing a same spec car but JDM vs USDM versions. Unless it’s the 99spec cars along with the 2002 spirit r models. The current Veilside fortune kit cost just as much if not more than a lot of FD3S, unfortunately
Car is 36,000... body kit is 18,000... install and paint by professional can cost 15,000.... the car is honestly worth 80,000-120,000 with the body kit installed. Also depends what motor.
1. You could use vinyl wrap on the exterior of your rear window to simulate the trim to give it a clean look. 2. Grab yourself a set of blind spot mirrors.
Why don’t you glue a really thin piece of foam to the lexan on the headlights so you have a barrier keeping dust from getting in and it might fix the dew as well. Sweet car bro
no. if you've purchased the kit from veilside, you can order the parts that are damaged. veilside will require for you to give them the serial number of your body kit. each authentic kit is serialized. otherwise, veilside will not sell you piece of the kit from what I was told.
And it would be amazing to have this car ( dream car) as my first but u see that is now almost impossible as far as wealth and just having contacts to get this kit damn that sucks 😪
I would highly advise not to have any sports car as your first car. get a reliable car, get experienced in working on your daily car, save and then buy your dream car. if I could do one thing differently, it will be to wait
Cairizzy yeah, a kit can’t completely ruin the fact that it’s someone’s favorite car. I love the RX7 almost as much as I love playing video games, and trust me, I am addicted to them.
Oh dude I completely understand. I love the 7 in stock form. The Veilside adds another level of uniqueness to it. It gets more attention than the super cars I’ve parked in the same vicinity in
What did you expect, it’s a body kit. Everything has to be molded, shaped, and or set for your preference. You can always install better mirrors, get a adapter for your fuel tank and a better fuel door. They go all out when they create the movie cars, you will always see the issues when you DIY
I've been thinking about getting a Veilside. How you get the kit itself? I've been looking around and I can't find any websites that look legit and I have trouble getting around the Veilside website. Also, with this car and kit, is it street legal? Also final question, generally how many hours would be put into the car for it to be finished? Awesome car bro, much appreciated!
When you are ready and have the means to purchase the car, let me know. I’ll forward you to the owner of Veilside and purchase it from him instead. It’ll take you a year or two to get a response from anyone at Veilside if you decide to go through any of these other websites, from what I heard. In the US, it’s street legal. In some parts of the world like Denmark, the rear hatch is not legal due to the split window. And in Germany, there’s also a law that makes some parts of the car illegal. But here in the US, it’s 100% legal from what I know. It took me and a friend 4-5 months to install the kit putting in. Couple of hours a day after our actual work hours. Everything is documented and vlogged in my RU-vid channel. It’ll do you some good to actually watch those videos bc they’re actually helpful.
SupremeMemes there were only a few until this last year or so. There’s more popping up, but some have fake kits. I’d say less than 25 right now in the US.
Thanks man I appreciate that! I thought about it, but I’d like to keep everything “Veilside” if that makes sense. (Considering We are thinking of the same craft squared mirrors to replace the VS oem).
Brendan Ma experience. That’s all. Been dealing with these cars for a while so I kinda know how much to put in there depending on where the gas needle is 😂
This guy is talking about the 5 things he hates about the kit, but the things he is pointing out all the crap were he has crap handy work. Bro it’s your fault it came out the way it did. you was not able to install the kit on properly so don’t blame the kit blame yourself.
Dude I had no idea it had that many issues, but why don’t you do like a rear view camera that live feeds on the rear view mirror ? Same with the side mirror. Crazy how difficult the kit is for the price lol
Jose Munoz bc that’s going to cost more money that I would like to spend right now. Saving up for a huracan Performante. Haha but it’s really not a big deal. I don’t really suffer from it since I barely drive the car. Kinda gotten used to it. Lol
If the car is start rusting inside then how can the kit be remove since it is molded? The gas tank is a big problem. Is there a solution instead using an extra plastic pipe lol?
lol I started with a pristine example of an rx7. you'll know this if you watched all my videos. why would the car rust if I took all preventive measures and preparations before I put the kit on? gas tank is a big problem, what? lol
Their are pros and cons to every kit. All I can say is, don’t spend $17k for a kit and not have it professionally installed. But this was very helpful tho. Gave me more look and thoughts about gettin the kit for my car.
Sir can i ask im planning also to buy a veilside bodykit.... my question is having a veilside fortune bodykit is it worth it when its finish or not and also need a very long patience and working time thank you stay safe
@@cairizzy thank you sir i appreciate. the lexan glass of rear trunk door and headlight is included in the bodykit and also the emblems and the electronic parts for tail lights and headlights is it included or not?
filjay caasi everything you mentioned is included with the kit illegally Alex and Anthony Drew. The tail lights that you use are the current tail lights that’s on your RX7.
For the first one you should you should 3m that side skirt. The 4th one about the covers , it looks better without the head light covers take them off. The visibility in the car is as expected. Start shoulder checking bra.
Side skirt is actually reinforced by a bracket. And what I showed is as far as the sideskirts are able to bend without messing up the alignment of the other pieces that side pieces that attaches to it and the front and rear fenders. Everything is secured to where you can stand on the kit and it won’t come off haha tried the 3m tape. Didn’t work to fill in the gap. Oh well
Sorry to say that, but man the car looks horrible. The shape and all that might be cool, but when you get closer, you see all thing that does not fit at all. I am from Germany, maybe thats why I am not used to imperfection.
PHI666 phoenix it actually doesn’t add as much as you think. The rear trunk and hood are both a lot lighter than stock form. And everything else doesn’t weigh much. The wing does weigh a little
PHI phoenix I mean, if you’re going to compare a stock engine vs RX7 versus a stock engine stock bodied RX7, then yes. The weight added by the kit, wheels and tires would make the difference. But who is going to keep a Veilside RX7 stock? Not me. ☺️
Alot of these things can be modded lol, a kit isn't supposed to be your end all. People expect you to put alot of work yourself into making it perfect...
Just the Mirror itself doesn’t even worth the money. A nice kit but not safe at all then what’s the point. Ending up just crashing possibly a chance when making a left lane or right lane. Too much customization for just a body kit. It’s great that he pointed out the issues so people can reconsider to buy the kit
@@rs_rogue but that doesn’t mean I’m making s fuss about the kit. Lol it’s like having a girlfriend. You like the girl, but you can’t stand it when she snores
