Last year I bought a '93 Del Sol Si VTEC with 174k miles and 5-speed manual. It's got a new paint job and aftermarket wheels, but the entire body, the engine, the suspension, and the exhaust are all stock. I totally relate to your passion and love of the Del Sol. If you offered me $100,000 for my Sol, I wouldn't take it. It's a damn fun car to drive.
If your roads are smooth, I honestly say the deal sol needs lowering springs or coilovers, some sporty 15” wheels, and a full exterior detail.. clay bar, compound and polish, wax.. I’m not a fan of the pinstripe down the sides, kinda looks like a grandpa owned it with those stripes so I would remove them, it’ll look a lot more sporty without them.. I would put a eBay intake tube with a hood quality k&n, you would want a little intake to gain a bit more power on the freeway. Keep the stock exhaust manifold just clean up the shield, keep the stock exhaust system so it’s smooth and quiet. If you are planning to keep the car for a very long time, rear disk conversion.. drum brakes look ugly and rear disk brakes with some nice wheels would look awesome Maybe a different style spoiler, maybe a front lip 🤔 All the small things without changing it too much and ruining it
Cold air intake? That's the stock intake with the box torn out..an a big "filter" on the end nothing cold about it lol actually it's hot air intake as the motor used to take air from outside engine compartment...an now takes air from within the engine bay....so yeah that's hot air intake....an if u put that car on the dyno it would get like 6 more hp with the stock one...ask me how I know lol
Just got mine! 96 with 26,000 kilometres, it was my dads and he passed away about 2 months ago, it was hiding away in his garage, small amount of rust, he stopped using it because it stopped working, the only thing that was wrong with it was a worn head gasket, so basically brand new Del Sol!
One near me clean like this one gonna swipe one up as a project you are definitely not lying about these clean Honda’s raising in price you have to be quick or they’ll be gone in a day or 2
I just bought a '93 del sol 3 days ago, it is in perfect condition but I think it is 'drinking' too much, I filled the tank and I had 140km (about 87 miles) and it is now half full, is that normal? It doesn't have any wierd modification, it is almost completely stock, a part for the exhaust
Looking at a stock 94’ Del Sol Si but it has some rust on the fenders and quarter panel. Current owner has new fenders and new roof seals that need to be installed. Would you buy it with rust and take it to a body shop to fix or just keep looking?
I have the Si with the D16Z6. Only get 30mpg. VTEC is so much better but for 45 mpg, I would almost want a non VTEC for the mileage. However I would swap the motor buddy.
If the hard top seal doesn’t leak and runs and drives, why not! 90’s and early 2000’s Honda’s are going up in price RN so I will say it’s a good investment.
Don’t modify... I love mine and I’m trying to keep it true to itself. In the condition your car is in, I wouldn’t do it. Plus your resale value would be way better if someone wants to do modifications themselves.
I don't know you're kid but if you want them to learn manual that is a solution. Also consider where you'll/they'll be driving it. If you're in a city with a lot of hills and traffic an automatic might be the way to go.
Add front and rear swaybars.. I believe this is the S model. I own a 1997 Si Del Sol. I am the original. owner. The day you get married is the count down on you selling your car. Fight it if you can.. this car is becoming a classic. A total of 75,000 were imported. The Miata will never match this car for value, there are too many of them. after your wife convinces you to sell it, you will regret it. You don't know it, but in the day of boring cars you got a keeper
Dude u are high if u think u can get 10-12k for it. I have a 93 1.6 si with a brand new paint job, body kit, with lots of new parts, way nicer car and i could gwt maybe $5 for it
I have a 1995 SI VTEC Del Sol, and a 1997 si del sol. They are okay they're not all that great man quit hyping it up you're making us look bad. Corny ass.
