I've had a 2013 focus se sedan since 2015 and I gotta say it's been fantastic. I had a transmission issue early on in it's life with clutches and seals and they replaced the transmission control module. That was at 30k miles and was completely covered by Ford under a TCM recall. I've heard many complaints about this car and people I knew were saying I should have jettisoned the car at the time but I didn't give up on it and I'm glad I didn't. I got about 18 months of payments left on it and I might go ahead and try a brand new honda next car I get. I loved this generation of focuses but I have to say I'm not a fan of the current route the Ford company is taking as of lately. These cars were awesome and if you had some good luck with the dual clutch like I did or knew how to drive it well without pushing it the ride is definitely awesome. Gas mileage is great too I'm averaging 33.7.
Thank you for posting the sound...I wasnt sure if that was normal. I know this video is a few years old, di you still love the car? I am thinking about buying one, same year...Im just slightly worried about the transmission problems.
Stacy Jones loved the car 100% would get it again and the trans problem was fixed by ford for me after they worked on it i never had any trans problems again!
I have a 2003 focus hatchback 5 speed manual and this bad boy gives me 29-32mpg o my normal use to work. Thats my metric, but you can do better on open roads so it varies up around 36mpg. On my new 2017 Focus (titanium) and yes I have 2 of these bad boys I get the same 28.5-33mpg normal use but you also push it to 36.
so I'm buying one like next week soon is it possible I would experience the same issue as well and should I continue to purchase or look elsewhere and is the warranty ongoing to this day
Ben Boldt that is true about a vehicle that has a 1.5 liter, pretty quick threw the gears and goes pretty good.thing with a car that has a 2.0 is that it has a more relaxed but also more powerful ride, especially once a race goes past 100 kmh.
