@willowsverge3046
@willowsverge3046 10 месяцев назад
@@andreaskarlsson5251 its 100% true that if you put fabric softener on your towels and wash clothes they dont absorb much at all. The softener fills the pores on the fibers in the material. Those pores are where you want the liquid to absorb into. If the softener gets there first, what good is the towel or wash cloth? Not worth it in my book. But thats me. You wind up using more towels to do one job because stuff is still wet due to not being able to absorb more. If you want softness thats fine. But the trade off you face is less absorbency. Do what makes you feel better. Hes just pointing out things HE wont do. The choice is yours what YOU do.

@SirBearingtonSupporter
@SirBearingtonSupporter Год назад
1) fabric softeners actually damage your machine. You’re better off with a dryer sheet. They they can be reused until they don’t exist anymore. 2) stripping your laundry from the beach should be done outside if possible but if you can’t, the bath can work but you need to get the sand out. There might be other circumstances that require stripping outside of a machine but the one I’m familiar with is wetsuits from the beach. 3) using too much will cause build up and your clothes will stop getting cleaned. You’ll need to clean your machine with a tablet or something to fix it. 1 cm or half an inch in your measuring device that came with the soap is more than enough. 4) in addition to the stained clothing, never put clothing that has come into contact with gasoline in the dryer. Even on low heat. The clothes could combust but also just throw them out - they will eventually rot away. It’s easier to remove oil stains with dawn soap. That clean ducky photo of an actual ducky that was covered in one of the oil spills - cleaned with dawn. 5) over filling is defined as not being able to see the top half from the front facing window. And the top 2/3rd (only fill 1/3) of a top loading machine. Break it up into parts. It will actually take less time to do it this way but will require more effort. If one item takes up more than that, go to a laundry mat.

I'm a laundry expert too: Stain remover should not be left too long on dark clothes or it can leave lightened spots. My favorite spot remover is Fels Naptha soap; rub it on just about any stain. Hydrogen peroxide is the best product for removing blood. You don't have to dry clean silks. As a matter of fact, it's probably better to use a couple of drops of detergent and hand wash the item. Don't put too few clothes in a washing machine either. One item swirling around by itself may not be enough to get it clean. And most importantly, the dryer is what beats up clothes. The lint filter proves that the heat and tumbling are destroying the clothes. I often dry clothes for a few minutes to get out wrinkles and then let them finish drying on hangars. I could go on and on.

FS is just more garbage for ppl to buy. Baking soda can actively neutralize the water (esp. Iron & Chorine) and enhance cleaning. Unless you have a water softener already. Then it may not be as dramatic. I use food grade BSoda. It helps to have a Top Loader to Fill, Per-Mix the Soda then add detergent and mix again. This is how detergents are designed. When top-loaders ruled the world, those instructions would be found on the back of the lid. Only Electrolux front loaders Top Model has the premix chamber. Clothes are rarely replaced due to wear and tear anymore. A better advice would be to not use softeners on important clothes that you want to keep for a long time. And if there's a ton of lint in your dryer filter it means the detergent didn't get rinsed out proper. I check the water when the washer is on the rinse cycle. If it looks too sudsy I use the extra rinse cycle. Or just use the rinse and drain cycle. And never put bras in the dryer. The heat wears out the elastic. Hope this helps🤗 and God bless 🙏

I bought pouches of RLR from Walmart, to have on hand for when my baby's cotton diapers might need stripping. So far they haven't needed it -- maybe because I try to be careful about detergent amounts used versus rinse cycles, so that there is little if any buildup. Edit: I did recently have to use the 'sanitize with oxy' feature on my aggitating top loader because baby's black polyester fleece 'stay dry' diaper liners started giving him rashes. Not sure when or if I'll have to strip those, well before the cotton diapers need it -- because the fleece is synthetic? I wonder.
@crazy4orlando2
@crazy4orlando2 Год назад
A lot of people do it when their clothes have an odor or dirt build-up. It usually occurs because they use too much detergent or use fabric soften at all. You don't need a lot. My husband favorite workout shirt was holding on to odors and I stripped it once, its a cotton tank top, used borax, baking soda and a little bit of detergent and that cleared it up and its still going strong. Not something I'd recommend regularly doing and its not something I'd so for all fabrics. Cotton works pretty well. It would likely fade your denim and wouldn't be ideal for delicate fabrics or anything you want to keep its color. It would only consider it for items you have an actual issue with, not just for the sake of doing it.
