Great video, again. I totally agree on the importance of fluidity and how good throwing out of the full windup is for you. It allows guys to move athletically, using their entire body to create smooth power. Also yes on the importance of simply throwing a lot and listening to your body and how you feel, self regulating. And not just in training, but also during games. No sense trying to come out as a starter and throwing 110% in the first inning, you're gonna gas yourself too early. As always, excellent content. I always like how y'all stress the importance of being smooth and athletic.
Another Spectacular post Ben. I will go to my grave believing that dominant pitchers from the Past would still be dominant today. I find it funny, actually kind of insulting, when somebody asks me if Greg Maddux, Tom Seaver, Sandy Koufax, Bob Gibson, Pedro Martinez, Nolan Ryan, Hal Newhouser, Steve Carlton, Fergie Jenkins ect...could pitch today. These guys, ALL OF THEM, were supreme athletes. And will feel the same way (if I am around) when 20-30 years from now somebody asks me if Jacob deGrom, Gerrit Cole, Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer or Clayton Kershaw can still pitch. Location, Movement and Velocity they all matter and they have always mattered.........for 100 years and counting. Again, Great Post from Tread.
He appears to benefit from Seam Shifted Wake. Other guys that use this effect on their change-ups include Logan Webb, Pablo Lopez, and Kyle Hendricks. You can achieve arm side run with efficient spin and a lower spin axis or you can utilize inefficient spin inducing seam shifted wake.
Have you seen a correlation in pitchers arm being up and behind ur head at front foot strike like a Ben Joyce or Degrom or Castillo any of those low slot guys vs guys like karinchak, strider, or a buehler that are higher slot guys having more of a scapular pinch and foot strike
The arm being up on time and being behind the head at foot strike is actually something you want. It can increase velocity if time right and is better than a late arm action. Here are some videos we've done on it ⬇️ Why: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cDEYVs_wLAw.html Drills to do it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DAMfgvDeWkk.html
@@treadathletics yessir I understand and I’ve watched the video but guys like strider and other 6-12 over the top fb guys seem to have the ball lower at foot strike, I could be completely wrong but it’s just something I’ve noticed when trying to look for high slot guys I can emulate. It seems like most of those high slot dudes don’t have a vertical arm angle at foot strike. I appreciate the response though!
