Southern isn’t a social media status. It is a way of life. We enjoy the simpler things. There ain’t nothing like Southern Belles, home cooked food, that good ol’ accent, a Friday night high school football game, the beautiful wilderness, and those manners mama taught ya!
Cant say I agree with the profile picture but you know what I do agree with what you said😂😂 Southern is a way of life it is literally a lifestyle people should just stop trying to change that. We don't like changing 😂😂
@@AmirAssaf5760 well you were talking about a profile picture. I get that pfp bullshit all the time.😂 So I assumed you was talking about my profile picture because my profile picture seems to bother everyone 😂😂 so I reckon you was not talking about my profile picture but the Ukraine profile picture 😂😂 had to clear that up
We would get slapped or backhanded in the face from Mom or the dreaded butt whoopin with a leather belt or boat paddle with holes drilled in it for aerodynamic purposes from Dad. Schools used to dole out paddlings too.
I would get 5 extra lashes if I cried about the previous 10 too. It didn't take me long to catch on to the fact that being a brat was too painful for me.
@@michaelmoody3737 My nana had holes drilled in her paddle so it was easier to tear us up when we got out of line…..Old school Massachusetts nana her back hand would’ve made tennis star jealous 😂
I was born in Wisconsin and raised in Nebraska- I LOVE the snow. We transplanted to the Missouri Ozarks almost 30 years ago. I have to say, I stay home when it snows. Where we live, we usually get ice but get snow at least once a year. I can honestly say, these people aren't used to driving in that stuff so if you rind yourself visiting the Missouri Ozarks and there's even a warning of snow or ice, stock up so you don't have to leave your house for AT LEAST a week. Trust me, every other person that wasn't born here is at Walmart doing the exact same thing! God Bless the South!
Honestly the first flake that hits the ground everyone gets to the grocery store as fast as possible to buy every thing off the shelves. When flake number 2 falls the wrecks start and by the time the snow starts to stick everything goes into complete shutdown mode.
@@machinist7230 🤣🤣🤣true when we do get feet of snow...well since it only lasts about a a week...its pretty fun if power don't go out and your job actually closes down.
To be fair, for us northerners, snow is a four-letter word when mentioned in a fall or spring forecast. Winter's long enough without it impinging on our other seasons.
@@calvinroyals6463 LOL, As a Mississippian I can confirm it is still spoken as one word. Especially during a rare ice storm (we don't get snow as often as we get ice), and there is always a DamnYankee speeding up behind you, getting impatient, passing and ending up in the ditch. Oh course, there are always a couple of good ole boys in their monster truck with a winch, that comes along and pulls idiot out of the ditch.
@@tupelohoney622 I know what you mean. I lived in Virginia where we get both Snow and ice. They pass you. You pass them parked in a ditch. The winter I spent in Northern Nevada no all weather tires or chains no problem. But I didn't play the fool.
There are dozens of TRI state areas, most are entered around large cities, who's metro areas grow out to neighboring states. Probably the best example is the NY one, where the NYC metro area has expanded to New Jersey, Connecticut, and Long island, and has a population of more than 20 million.
Y'all know the Jason Statham movie "Death Race"? Folks in Mobile, Alabama like to re-enact it, minus the hood mounted rocket launchers, every time it rains. As soon as they gotta turn their wipers on it's like "Vroom Vroom motherfuckers we're all gonna die today!" 🤦🏻♀️ 🤣
The Wallace Tunnel speed limit is 55 mph and strange as it might seem, the lane inside is the exact same width as the lane outside of the tunnel. If you want to go slower than that and/or are afraid of the road under the river then please take the Water Street exit to the Cochran Bridge bypass. Thanks.
I-10 tunnel, backed up 2.5 miles last Tuesday around 11am. No wreck, just timid people. Took Canal to Government through Bankhead and back onto I-10 for 5 min delay. I wish I had Sean Connery headlights sometimes driving through Mobile. I was raised south of I-10 so definitely not a northerner.
@@RobertBrown-zt2vd Louisiana/Texas mostly, Florida drivers not from Escambia/Santa Rosa/Okaloosa Counties don’t know any better either. Also RV’s and travel trailers have no business being in the left lane of the tunnel. The I-10/I-65 interchange used to only say Pensacola-Pascagoula for directions, they added Florida-Mississippi later for those not familiar with the coast.
I'm a good ol country boy raised in the south and I can say all your videos are absolutely perfectly true🤣🤣 keep doing your thang brother I love these videos
As a Marylander who moved to East Tennessee. It is hilarious how everyone acted when there was a "snow storm" Schools were shut down, nobody (besides me) were on the roads and businesses stayed closed for a few days. These was less than an inch of snow anywhere. I took advantage of that and drove around the mountains and all the places that are usually full of tourists!
@@belle9438 My cousin and her two sons moved from Ohio to North Carolina about a decade ago, when the two sons were still in high school. One day they got up to go to school, but they came to find, from news on TV, that their ENTIRE county was COMPLETELY shut down because of a TENTH OF AN INCH of snow. So, no school for them that day. All three of them were like "HUH?!" But then they were like "Okay.....!!!!"
Born and raised in the North the best thing ever never would work for me being from the south slow as molasses lol but my parents are from the south go figure they raised me in NY the big city and I love it! I can adapt to any environment most Southerns cant lol!
Yes I live in Michigan I'm a northern girl love my four seasons and no southern people cannot drive better than Northern people we have four seasons I would love to see a southern person drive in the snow when they haven't lived where the snow is at we can drive in any season and us Northern people might be rude but we don't sugar coat it and try to be sweet and two-faced and no not every man wants a Southern Belle and not everything's bigger in the south we might come for a visit or a small vacation but not all of us want to live in the south I'm proud to be in Northern and my bloodline comes from Southern you know Josh by this video you are trying to put people from the South and the North against each other great job on that you should be part of the solution not the problem hats off to you
What would happen if we finally started pulling the same shit when they want a mild summer where the beautiful great lakes are?? I have an honest good heart and try to keep it thst way!
I think what Josh was saying we " Do not care how you do it, what you do, how you say it up north you're in the south " with that being said . " bless your heart baby "
And the best part of "Bless your heart" can be a compliment or a possible insult and a Yankee can't tell a difference lmbo and we know how to play nice but we can also bring it...feel NC southern girl
I used to have a bumper sticker that read: "Welcome to Texas. Now go home." I think that there should be a Texas law that states that you can't move here unless the word "y'all" is in your natural, everyday vocabulary.
We do drive faster in the snow, because we know how.... thats why when the highway was closed in south Carolina due to snow, the cop at the roadblock let me (from Buffalo area) and the guy behind me with Ohio plates keep going.
I’m originally from P-cola, Florida and moved to Montana for work.... worst mistake ever. You’re spot on with everything except you forgot the food, and sweet tea. Up here, they’ll bring you a glass of unsweetened tea, and a packet of sugar. What the hell. Oh, and don’t get me started on them not having any Waffle House. I gotta get home for good.
Funny how y’all complain just from having one region of people from your own country come to where you live when in new York we literally have the most tourists in the world and people from everywhere on the planet and you don’t hear us complaining.
Josh I grew up in NY but left many decades ago. Had to go back on business just recently and "I can't stand them folks". On my way home I stopped for a joint that advertised "best habanero burger in the tri states". The were jalapenos and to add insult to injury they were mild jalapenos.
I’m Cajun and Married someone from rural NJ in Tri-state area. When I went to his hometown, I ordered a sandwich with hot peppers in a deli. They just put banana peppers on it. They have no more spice than pickles.
I moved to TN from Chicago. Man, you are so right about Southern Women!! Also, about the driving, you are right on the money on that one too! I think its all the winding roads down here. Southerners build superior driving skills, from a much earlier age.
This Minnesotan does find it funny when southerners actually have to drive in the snow. It's like most of y'all have no idea what to do in anything other than perfect traction. My uncle drove through Texas in a freak snowstorm (it was like 2" of snow or something). Everyone's in the ditch, no one can move, he gets pulled over twice by cops wondering why he's doing the speed limit. He just pointed to his MN plates and they sent him on his way.
Josh,The North and South is like the story "The Tortoise and The Hare"By Aesop. Yep! you guessed it the south is like the torotise because we like to take it slow and steady.
My Mother once asked me why are they so slow in the south? I said it’s because we have 365 days a year to do what we want and the north has about 150 days a year to do what they want and not be hindered by the weather. We don’t get locked in our houses for months at a time. In other words, we have our pace BECAUSE we never stop!!
It's too hot to get in a hurry down here. If you move much faster than a mosy down here, you gonna fall out. Louisiana would be most Marines stop to acclimate before sweating their marine butts off in sunny Vietnam. I'm inclined to say the old barracks in Pine Forrest just south of Alexandria was one such facility. Though I could be mistaken.
Atlanta traffic is BAD. It scares the living shit out of me every time I’ve had to drive through there ( of course, I’m from Mississippi and anytime I’m on a paved road it makes me nervous….).😉
@@williambrant3214 first time I drove through there, my buddy ( who works there ) gave me the best advice for driving in Atlanta traffic ( and I quote ) : “ Drive like you’re trying to kill somebody “ . Worked like a champ! ( 85mph bumper to bumper traffic in the hammer lane, and a damn MARTA train passed me on the left and about gave me a coronary! )
Country girls from Tennessee are sweet as soda pop but play like one of the boys! Farm raised, love Jesus and Momma and Daddy. Mean as a wild cat if crossed the wrong way. Southern till the day I die! Love your videos.
North and proud I could burn holes in about every argument you have but I'm nice so it's all good you have your opinion we have ours let's leave it at that 😌
@bbhjvvbfhvv3357 You're the perfect example of why we don't want Northerners here. In the South, we aren't racist. Good old country boys in the country hills have sported that flag on the back of their trucks & they have been doing it forever. Northerners get offended and they say it's racist. In the South, nobody is racist. We have a way of life, & we get along fine despite the colors of our skin .... then Northerners come in to ruin it all by starting that nonsense of division with their ideology .... trying to divide us using that nonsense. Take some advice from a very successful African American close friend of mine he said, " Racism only exists because you keep talking about it constantly repeating it over & over by saying it exists, if you didn't mention it, it wouldn't exist at all. People keep it alive by speaking it out of their mouths constantly never shutting up about it. We aren't on the plantation anymore, we have plenty of freedoms & we can enjoy success it is there for the taking, and I am proof of it!" You're comment of saying, "racist " is a prime example of it. Thank you for helping us prove it. God bless your heart and have a great day.👍🇺🇸🙏✝️👍
I remember when I was a kid that my aunt and cousins came to Texas to visit us from Michigan. My dad said " I'll be so glad when these Goddamn Yankees go home. My mom cracked me up when she told him that they were just plain Yankees because the GD ones come with u-hauls.
It's because us northerners know you sun bunnies can't handle the artic temperatures. We are built different. We can handle your warm climate but you are out of your mind with -20.
Darlin’ the term “the south” are the states that fought in the civil war as a rebel. Not the union or whatever western states there were/are. Bless your heart for thinking New Mexican women are southern. I’m sure they are lovely just not southern.
It’s cool Eileen. Do you with your southern culture. I’m cool with that. We have a proud and deep culture in the Southwest as well so I hear you. And yes New Mexican woman are lovely. You damn right about that darling. And yes you are correct. “The South” does in fact consist of the states that fought in the Civil War as rebels so I stand corrected. Just one thing I would like to add…. The confederate army (rebel,s) lost that war. Just saying.
@@MrJmartinez76 I’m well aware I was just saying what classifies as “the south”. I’ve seen people try and say Oklahoma or Missouri as the south which it isn’t.
As a southerner we know Texas is Texas but we claiming y'all. Hell you never know we may need you again if we have a civil war 😂😂 texas is South the south stays together so Yall are south. 😂 But Texas can be Texas to
Agreed!! I live in the north but none of this applies to me and mine! We don't live in the city and we hate snow and as a chic I own 3 dresses, funeral, church/ weddings and professional dinner... If it cost more than $30, I ain't buying it (unless it's work boots) lol
Ive lived in Pa and SC. Everything he said is true except driving. Northerners are A LOT more aggressive but i seen atleast 2 accidents EVERY DAY in SC. We get maybe 1 a week in my area of pa. Down south you got some good drivers, but some of your bright friends think theyre in NASCAR 24/7 😆
Things Northerners wanna tell southerners. 1. There is such thing as southern hospitality. 2. Plant as any many palm trees as you'd like. Its still a shit hole. 3. No traffic? Drive thru Atlanta during rush hour. I mean creep in all 7 lanes. 4. Florida has produced more serial killers than any other state. 5. We like our snow, you can have our old people.
"4. Florida has produced more serial killers than any other state." That's because we snapped after all the damn Northerners INVADED Our state and want to make Dade, Broward, & Palm Beach "The 6th Borough". I left my home state and moved to NC because of the northern infestation.
😂😂 no we don't need edumacation why get educated when you can work on a farm or an actual trade? We are not trying to get no diploma that is useless. Southerners are just a different kind of educated
One thing I want to make clear as a northerner from Minnesota is that the upper Midwest and the Northeast is completely different we don't like New Yorkers either. New York City is a completely different planet I would never want to be on
Don’t forget the constant people who are from everywhere internationally. We have to adjust to the way everyone else drives from everywhere. We’re just trying to get to work while everyone else is on vacation!! One of the best lessons I learned in my 20s was to slow down in the rain. Our roads don’t get snow, salted or scraped so all the oil from our cars is on the roads. When it rains, hold on Batman this is gonna be a slippery ride, this what northerners don’t think about.
I remember 2008, I believe. Baton Rouge area got what may as well have been a blizzard. As soon as I realized what was happening, I went to my local hardware/grocery store to get prepared. I had a functioning fireplace and had a gas stove, 2 things many people in rural Louisiana don't have. So I knew to expect extended guests. In short, the 1 mile round trip in the snow taught me to appreciate occasional oil-slick roads. Not even comparable. I couldn't go much beyond 10mph on icy asphalt.
I'm trying to get away from the Tampa area now. In Wesley chapel, the last 2 years, the idiots overdeveloped it, so now it feels like all of NY just crammed into our tiny town. Can't wait to get outta here now. Def no longer feels like the south (other than the heat & gators😉). Everybody is so rude around here now- DEF not used to that.
@@DD-oi3vh 8 months ago I made the decision to move out to the middle of the desert. It was partially relationship built and partially to build relationships if that makes any sense....
As a Miami boy, I can relate & confirm. Fun fact; In New York city, it is only legal to honk your car horn to warn persons or animals of imminent danger- the entire city should be in jail.
Nah. We do that even if none of that is happening lol. I remember having a neighbor once that would honk even if an elderly person was crossing the street as fast as they could. See, now that's rude but on average, we ain't rude. We just have cold personalities lmao.
I will say that Southern women are just naturally beautiful. I’ll take a thick homegrown country girl over a thin model anytime. If Josh ain’t correct about the South being being better then why are there so many Northern people moving here?

New Yorkers do the same thing. Y’all are being too black and white in your thinking. New York and the south has a couple of differences you’re exaggerating.

Driving in the South reminds me of using a slinky on one step you're all going and then all the suddenly 35 miles an hour and about half-an-hour you might make it back up to 65 till the next slight corner
This is indeed the case when you're not on the interstate lol From Jackson to Peducah is exactly like that. Is a pain in my ass, as that's a fairly common route for me to have to take.
