The Birth place of Ernest Rutherford (the first person ever to split the atom), the first ever rugby game was here, the Lord of The Rings Ring was created here, and most importantly it happens to be the centre of Aotearoa! My ancestor David MacNish was one of the earliest Pakeha Maori to immigrate to North Island in the 1840s, he married the daughter of a Maori Chief named Te Ani Kaaterena te Moanaroa and they had seven children together I believe

Rutherford came from Havelock. Nelson has a 19th century main street book ended by the two ugliest buildings in New Zealand, The Post Office building at one end and a drab "cathedral" at the other. Yep Hamilton is a superb place to live and you missed the attractive women and the incredible social life.

While chrustchurch cant afford a cathedral the tron spent 166million just on 1 bridge..and its infrastructure is probably best in country course part of golden triangle fastest growing city in nz

776,000 people? (0.54) That would make it bigger than Wellington and Christchurch... Perhaps you meant 176,000 people.... Only 600,000 different, that's nothing between friends aye 🙂
