My mind says get the KTM 390 Adv. but my heart says get the DR650... Mainly commuting but just love the simplicity of the DR. If you had the option would you get the DR again? Thanks for the vids!
Hey mate. %100 the dr650 again without a thought. U can fix everything and mod to your desires. So many aftermarket parts for them. Cheaper replacement parts. Simple. Reliable. Thanks for watching
Lol🤣 There is a mod you can do for getting the windshield forward a bit that will increase wind deflection. Using some small pvc pipe pieces and longer bolts. Move it forward away from the cable. Just two side bolts I see people do it for. 👍
You forgot the terrible stock carby setup. I just picked my DR650 up from the dealer and took it back thinking there was something wrong with it! Apparently all that throttle lag is normal.
@@NzJohny Mine feels like it actually bogs a little bit after a quick gear change and I fully open the throttle. It has done about 700km. Avon City Suzuki told me mine rides like they all do. I assume the bogging down feeling is it going massively lean from the throttle opening quickly and the carby slide taking a while to move. It doesn't do it if I don't ride aggressively. Lets go for a ride and you can check out my FFRC suspension too. I've got the Plex valve in the front and will get the rear pistion and shim stack fitted during the 1000km service.
@@NzJohny yeah, the head mechanic (Scott) rode and it said it all feels normal. I guess I'm just using to riding bikes with EFI or pumper carbs. I'll do the carb mods or get a TM40 but need to keep it stock for LAMS approval for now :) I'm quite keen for a ride through Lee's Valley if you're up for that. I'm new to road biking so need some people to ride with.
Looked at your CB 125 vid. Comments were turned off. I have 8 1990 CB125T's. I am looking for CDI's. Honda does not make them anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
Hey mate. That's strange didnt think the comments were off. I can ask my brother as I sold the bike to him as he found an immaculate example without the engine. He might have some spares
@@NzJohny Outstanding. Massive thanks. I have lots of parts if he is looking for something. If he has bought a CDI or knows where to get one, that would be great. Cheers.
