I rescued the sweetest persian ever. He is a male renamed Sergio. He is docile, loving and has brought more joy to my heat than I ever could have imagined. He doesn't mind his daily grooming. He turns from side to side and onto his back, without prompting, while being brushed. He even holds onto the coffee table so he doesn't slide. He's so funny and silly. ❤His mood is always the same. A Persian's Love is worth every second spent grooming.❤
If your planning on getting one DO IT my cat is the best thing that has ever happened to me I have had her for 13 years and life has never been more happy. They are the most loving cats u could have although I did have a couple Persians one was very shy and was always sick and one was very mean but all of it was very worth my little angel now just be prepared to give all your life to that cat!
Just want to warn you guys Persian cats have usually problems with their eyes and eyelids, and need surgery. It’s both painful for them and the owner 😣
@@ri_zz77it's not necessary that every cat will have to get a eye surgery, i have one and the only problem with eyes is that i have to clean of the eyes because of the brown crap that gets stuck in corners of the eyes just like us humans
I have a Persian kitten who is 3 months old. She's incredibly sweet, always by my side, and quite intelligent, picking up new things quickly. Fortunately, she's not picky about her food when we change it. Everything she does is absolutely enchanting. Her voice is so cute!~~~~~
I recently received a doll face Persian as a gift from my daughter. Sue is now 4 months old and is beautiful and healthy. I am retired, therefore, I have time to groom her every day, and I enjoy it a lot.
Just got mine. My boyfriend gave her as agift for our anniversary. 2 months old and she knows now where her territory is, my room. We have stray cats with us and shes the only one I let inside my room and lay on my bed. Shes very playful, sweet and very affectionate. She purrs when I put my nose on her nose. She purrs when I scratch her neck and when I caress her furr. I gave her wet food with some water mixed with it cause she doesnt want water yet. So im slowly introducing her to it. Thank you for the very informative video. This helps me a lot to take care of my Bella..
Wet food and water is very important for these cats. Mine is 4 years old and i still add water to his food because cats never drink enough or at all. Their breathing is compromised with those small nostrils so wiping the eyes and nose with moist cloth is a good habit to keep. Also watch for their teeth lot of them have lousy teeth that might decay with time if not cleaned.
@@nodwaa9227 could be if you feed dry they might get thirsty because cats in nature get their moisture from their fresh kill, mice, birds, rodents etc. so they don’t really have the need to drink water as much as other animals.
Mine hated to be picked up. She wanted to sit beside me but never ever in my lap. We weren't super close until I watched cats 101 Persians/Himalayans. It said not to pick them up. After I stopped she started following me around and she stayed right beside me after that. I miss her every day.
Mine is 11 months old, she is very sensitive, three months ago some swellings appeared on her back legs. Doctors do not know what it is, the problem is that it bites them and hurts them. She's had diarrhea for over a week now, I'm treating her and she's not getting over it. She is sad and apathetic. But she is extremely beautiful, I love her. I hope that these problems will be solved.
Iam a Persian cat parent, her name is Angel, she's full white in colour, for us she's just our whole world, can't imagine our family without her. We just love her Sooooooo much
Mines a female Persian cat, her name is April:D she’s very sweet, affectionate and calm, she’s not too playful, until she sees her favourite feather toy! I feel blessed, I believe April is a gift sent from god. ❤ I hope she lives happily in my home
We just lost our cat(Abby) after 17 years of her love, we have just purchased our first Persian at 11weeks old , (Luna), thanks for the great video as we learn more of how to be the best lovable parents we can be , she is a joy to watch and so loving , being our only pet she is such a joy ,
My Persian is the most beautiful and sweet boy. I feel blessed. A gift from God. He is smart, curious, not much of a lap cat, part Persian Dollface, greets me at the door, loves to play tug of war with a long, clean shoelace. I was always a dog person. This cat surpassed my best idea of how great having a pet can be.
I have always had Persian cats, Rescue ones. They have had many illnesses, but they have been treated. I wanted to give a home to mistreated cats and cats that came from bad conditions, because they have the right to a good life. I love my cats the most in the world. They are very wise and intelligent.❤
My sister and I have 4 Persians. The biggest issue they have is their teeth. My 10 year old boy had tooth resorption. I had to have the last of his teeth pulled last June. He is so much happier. And the vet missed it when she examined him. Make sure you get jaw x-rays, because it is the only way to know. His signs were: chronic ear infections. Weepy, gooey eyes, runny nose, and the area on his head above his eyes itched like mad. The vet thought they were just normal problems Persians have because of their flat face. But it was his teeth. After 3 months, all of his problems are gone. I was a bit ticked off that she missed it. I had been bringing him regularly for five years (started when he was 5) because of his issues.
@Deborah and right you are. My boy is 4 and we discovered his teeth didn’t look right, went to the dentist and he is going Wednesday for cleaning and strong possibility he will have some teeth pulled. How was your kitty right after the procedure the extraction?
@@JCX-9 He was on pain meds for three days. He did not seem uncomfortable. Because he had his fang teeth pulled, I had to make his food soft and hand feed him for ten days. He will not eat soft food on his own. Since he has healed, he has gained a pound and now he loves eating. Before, he only ate just what he had to when he was starving.
@@deborahhawley5849 thank you for your reply. I only feed them wet food and add water because don’t like dry food. So he should be ok with the wet. Keeping my fingers crossed kind of hoping they will take out the back teeth as they seem to be useless like wisdom teeth and only reason for discomfort. The vet said he is grinding his teeth so there is definitely discomfort and I noticed he is not as peppy like before so time to take care of it.
My Persian is very bossy and very needy -- she's also affectionate, sweet and does not like being picked up or held...she prefers coming up to me when she feels like it (like at 4am when she decides to plop down and sleep on my head!! LOL).
Same with my Persian he doesn’t like being pick up. When i do he will deal with it for a while before he wiggles out. He is very talkative. Mews steadily for attention but if you bend over to pick him up he runs. Bossy yes also because he is not neutered so he is the boss. He likes to plop himself on the floor and you can then come and rub his belly and give ear scratches he loves those best.
My female is a doll faced tourtie and my male is a tabby short nose they r the best and trust me they eat alot they get 3 meals a day and trust me they know it by clock work to
My poppet is a dubble blue persiat 11 months, breaks at 4 am, dinner at 4 pm. 10am treats because my sausage dog get her treat from after morning walk. She has dry kibbles if wanted during day. Plenty of water, and sometimes a tiny sip of my tea😊 I would love to trim her because she Still has a lot of baby hair and now coming out due to summer upon us in Australia. No I need to learn to clip her andmake her a princess. Every tip will be greatly appreciated ❤❤
my Persian cat is uncomfortable around children. I did not know that this is typical behavior for this cat breed. Also, I think bathing them from time to time is necessary so it's probably not a bad idea to start bathing them when they are kittens
My two Persians are the best cat companions I’ve ever had. They do require a lot of care but is so worth it. I always have something special to come home to, and they wait for me as well. My brown tabby Persian likes to be carried like a human baby and wraps his arms around my neck and shoulders as if holding on to me. It’s exactly how the breeder was holding the kitten the first day I met him. My white doll face Persian is such a funny character waiting in line to be groomed. His name was Louis but now we call him Bunny or Bunny rabbit. Can you guess why?❤
Hey i have a question, I wanna buy a doll face persian cause they are healthier. Is there any doll faced ginger persian? Or the only color of doll faces are white?
@@Tiatiiiiiiia good choice on doll face and yes, there are orange doll face Persians, or atleast orange long haired kitties which are so cute! Good luck on your search for a doll face orange kitty.
I have a persian cat she is 6 months old and follows me everywhere ...sometimes she wants to be picked up like she starts climbing on me .... once i pick her up she sits like a baby ☺️☺️☺️ ....
Short hair Persian is categorised as Exotic Short-hair or Exotic Persian. Colourpoint Persian or Himalayan Persian is another category. They are all spin-off from the Persian or Persian Longhair. They are all the same beautiful and devoted cat.
So my kitty is actually half Persian half ragdoll she is called a Ragamuffin and she is white literally bleach, white with pale blue eyes absolutely gorgeous, and very high maintenance! but I do have to say that she is such a trooper because she is so fastidious about her own self cleaning that we don’t have to worry too much I love this mix breed because they get the fluffiness from the Persians however, not as serious as they normally are, the ragdoll gives a great boost for their overall health and energy I love this Mix breed of the Ragamuffin 🥳
Hi this is the exact breed of my little one I’m looking to adopt! She is chinchilla half Persian half ragdoll. Can you tell me how has your experience been with the maintenance? As much detail as you can I will be ever so grateful! Thank you
Rescued a 6 year old female Persian that is inbreed There were 60plus Persian cats in the home. It was a HOARD!!!! At first I couldn’t even look at her let alone touch her. Now she can’t leave me alone ❤and I’m absolutely in Love with my kittty girl
I have a 11 year old Black and white persian named Tuxy (cause fur looks like tuxedo). He is the most precious thing in my life. Overtime they take your personality and I would never let any harm close to my baby.
I bought a 2 months old male doll face persian from a reputable breeder 2 weeks ago and I can already tell they're not like other cats. He was naturally scared the first day but got used to the environment really fast, he slept in the bed with me the next day, and his confidence keeps rising day by day ^^ he is ALWAYS napping next to me and loves playtime and is really gentle. Never goes full murder mode with mouse toys or anything (I've had 1 month old kittens that would maul and completely destroy toys) I wash my adorable prince's face with warm tap water every day and he's slowly getting used to it 🤣 I spoiled him way too much with wet food though. Someone is having a diarrhea today (and really nasty smelling farts)
If he has smelly stool have his poop checked. Lot of kittens come with an intestinal parasite that can be easily treated. One common one is Giardia and shows up with loose bowels and smells bad. Remember your cats poop shouldn’t have much odor if it does it needs to be treated as most likely there are parasites. My cats don’t really have any poop odor. I give them diatomaceous earth the one for human consumption to deworm them. It’s the best and inexpensive. Many people even drink it that’s how safe it is. You can give 1/4 of a spoon dissolve it in water and pour it in their food for one week to deworm.
Also I don't recommend taking cats on walk becuz they can smell other dogs/cats litter and if the dog or the cat would have the disease called giardia, your furry guy can get infected
Hi everyone i have my precious one she 4 months very fluffy white and silver she's not too crazy about dry food so I gave her like a little moist but she likes the treats but that's dry but she likes it a little confusing why she doesn't like the dry food and I go to the pet store and buy her the kitty milk she love it plus water thank u everyone have a bless day
My white long hair doll face persian died from kidney disease few years ago. I didn't want another cat cus i didn't want to deal with the potential heartbreak again. Just couple months ago we found a fluffy skunk looking kitten in the yard digging through the trash. Now we have another cat that resembles a Persian. I love persians (love cats in general) lol
I have a beautiful pan faced Persian she looks just like the patchy one in video she eats anything but does not eat any meat at all she prefers fruit and cake is she normal or just plain weird cat ? And she perfectly healthy
I'm very exited 'cause I'm getting mine soon! It would be great if someone gave me some advice from their experience, and also name ideas! Do persian cats get well on dogs?
I have an extreme Peke faced Persian and she had to have her nostrils slit to help her breathe better...however, Persians are prone to upper respiratory infections and frequent sneezing/runny nose is not normal. I adopted my Persian and when I got her, she had infected teeth and was suffering from similar issues. I had the problem teeth extracted, she was on a course of antibiotics and is now thriving. I agree with the other replies that suggest consulting another vet -- there may be some other underlying issues.
Yes Persian cats r prone to breathing problems bc of there nose shape they often find it hard to breathe so yes it is normal for Persian cats however still consult a another vet for a second opinion
Yes, I am a Persian cat parent. True having this breed of cat is not easy. Time and dedication are really needed to make them healthy and in shape. But the consolation is, they are so loving and loyal, mine never leaves by my side, Calie is like a dog, where I go she goes.
I just got a 2 months old persian kitten 4 days ago and she's still not loyal to me yet. She doesn't liked to be bathed or combed or groomed. She doesn't even like cuddles idk what do
Try to feed the Persian cat by yourself everyday. Regularly, give him treats personally. Once the cat knows you are his owner who feeds them foods, he will get closer to you. Just be patience. Cat takes time to build trust. Cat are different from dogs.
To be precise I got my kitten when she was 1 month 25 days, and yaa it's been 2 month she's with me, I feed her and comb her so she's fine by combing now but she still hates water my doctor told persian cats throw a lot of tantrums so you have to bear with it lol😆😆 but she's very comfortable with me and she's a very loving and social kitten I love her❤️ thank you for your suggestions 💛
I have 3 persian cats but one of them is 1 yr old now and she struggled a lot in her childhood bc of a infection she had and even lest us with tickling allergies but still her skin becomes dry dry means black and her nose becomes black and a lit of hair loss and doctors treatment is not enough we spended more than 50000 rupees for doctors treatment pls help with the solution
Does anyone here can suggest what home made for persian kitten almost 2 months old for shampoo? I just have her 2 days ago and want her to take a bath since she has allergy spots on her skin , have to visit vet next week and its 4 hours drive to the city. Thank you to those who can reply and suggest.
I have 3 adorable ones. The mommy and her two sons who still breast feed from time to time at 8 months old lol. One eats only grains and breast milk and he’s the biggest. They have their shots and are healthy. I just need to learn how to control their hair as the mom was trimmed but the boys are hairy and I am walking around like a fur ball.
One thing about Persian breed is that they you have to take care about their fur, the sheding won't stop but rather we have to comb these guys every three days. Mine sheds alot so i comb him regularly 🙄
All said in the video, is kinda so general, this is my second cat, a Persian, the first one still with me is a British short hair....and all said here I already knew, I was hoping to find something interestingly unknown... ☹️
Can you please help how to avoid or get ride of fungal infection from Persian cat. I have 2 years persion cat first time she delivered litters but during her pregnancy she got infected with fungal infection also around her nipples she had went consulted doctor they said sometime due to stress they will have after that all 4 kittens got infected in that 3 cats were healthy didn't get infected much last one was infected more somehow I can saved him with the help of doctor but still some of his body part has got infection. Now she is pregnant again she has got fungal infection can be seen on her body. Im from India I tried much I'm suffering from past 10 months
I found a persian cat infront of my house keep begging for food, I think the cat is abandoned. I kept giving the cat some foods and water so that i can tame him but it doesnt work. Any tips? :)
First you need to find out why she isn’t eating. Once you do, you can then find a solution. The list is a long one. Could be health related including dental issues or a health condition, so make sure she’s fine and get an okay from the vet. It could be unfamiliar surroundings. Cats are a creature of habit, so a change in routine can result in a loss of appetite. Or it could be the food. Try experimenting with different options and find out whether she responds better to something else.
My friend's Persian female cat cries a lot. No medical issues. What should be done? Age wise she is old. Some days she cries day and night and that sound is very disturbing to my ears. Yes, I am staying with her and now it is almost an year. When I was new, she didn't cry that way. What should be done? Thank you
I have 6 cats and two Persian cat and one kitty. But going to vet is too expensive and I let him outside at night. Please I need help. Got any advice??
