What the hell Washington Post? I'm at the Jamboree right now, and it wasn't at all a bad speech, plz guys, Scouts aren't Nazi's and Trump actually did talk more than politics.
He's right it had more than politics but what everyone probably didn't hear before was when his car was pulling up evrone was chanting build the wall I would have been a little disappointed if he didn't say something about fake news, draining the swamp, etc.
Here is the full transcript of Obama's video message to the 2010 National Scout Jamboree (As he sat with dignity and as a role model - compared to Tfrump looking like a drunk child abuser): Hello everybody. I wanted to send my greetings to everyone taking part in the national Scout Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill and congratulate you on the hundredth anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. I hope you've all enjoyed this year's festivities. You know, for a century, scouts just like you have served your communities and your nation in ways both large and small. During World War II, scouts played a vital role in supporting the war effort at home by running messages and selling war bonds. Some of our nation's greatest heroes have worn the scout uniform, including 11 of the 12 men who have walked on the moon. And today, scouts across the country continue the tradition of collecting food for those in need, improving our neighborhoods, and reaching out to those less fortunate. That service is worth celebrating. But there's still more to do. Even though we face a different set of challenges than we did 100 years ago, they are no less important. And in the years ahead, we are going to depend on you, the next generation of leaders, to move America forward. So I hope that all of you will carry the lesson you have learned in scouting with you for the rest of your lives. And I hope that when you're called upon to help write the next great chapter in the American story, you will uphold the best of the scouting tradition and respond with enthusiasm, skill and determination. Congratulations again on your first 100 years. I'm sure the next 100 will be even better. *_Maybe we'll get lucky and Obama will run against Tfrump next time!_*
As a Native AMerican Hispanic women, I am proud to teach my children the difference between racists and America haters and true patriots. I AM PROUD OF PRESIDENT TRUMP. Washington Post is a joke.
Well, yes... he did politicize the speech in parts, but the crowd appeared to love it. About Obama....he phoned in a greeting to a Jamboree in 2010 and was booed by the Boy Scouts. Trump came, which the young men obviously appreciated the effort. -- But... Trump also gave inspirational words to the Boy Scouts. Of course, you won't show that part of the speech or even acknowledge that part of the speech was pretty darn good. Yeah... Trump will be Trump, but you are giving merely a distorted view vs a full view of the speech. That puts you bordering on "fake news", even if technically accurate in your snippets. That's why people go listen to the real speeches and don't rely on the news anymore to tell us what happened. You are not trustworthy resource, which is a shame.
Kettle? Ketttttle? Yes, Pot? What is it? Unbelievable, dude. Do you have kids, Larry? Do you let them listen to everything Trump has to say? Do they get to read everything he writes? Are you particularly proud of the fact that The Donald has never taken responsibility for any of his actions, apologized for any of his mistakes, or given proper respect? Do you think Trump is a kind, loving person? Selfless? Did you know that for 10 minutes today, the Pentagon had no f-ing clue what Trump was about to tweet out and possible order from the military? A 71-year old man had to get his Twitter fix and attack people (people who are currently fighting against ISIS and fighting to protect us). He was so busy being a bully that he couldn't be bothered to pick up the phone and communicate with the Pentagon. Take your little post and hit the road!
Snake5461 The media is pissing themselves because a crowd of people booed Obama when he asked if he ever came to a jamboree with some political references mixed in. Trump is childish, but the mainstream media is a blubbering toddler.
Obama addressed the Scouts eloquently and honestly. Trump blabbered on about things that none of them care about or have the base of knowledge to understand. If you didn't see a problem with the narcissism and paranoid delusions he tried to express to kids 12-18 then you're a problem.
Typical Trumpian response Larry, overlook the fact that as POTUS he has engaged in non-stop insults, false accusations, threats, bullying and bashing everyone and yet you claim that bashing him back is childish?
abc zyx Are you a liberal or a conservative? If you are a liberal, I applaud you for having a good point that makes sense, and not buying into the whole "Trump is Hitler" narrative.
Trump is not fit to talk to kids as far as that goes he should not talk to a group of dogs, how shameful is this man never a kind word or anything hopeful said in the 6 months he has been in office and now talking like this to kids is just shameful indeed, Impeach Trump and ALL who defend him!!!
You as Media is so pathetic, highlighting those things you mentioned. I will judge you unbiased if you just presented the speech as it is and let the people know everything. The major part of his speech is a great encouragement to all the young patriots , they were challenged to set goals and achieve it in their lives. I am sure they will aim high and not be like you! GOD BLESS AMERICA and our GREAT PRESIDENT!
Anybody who has ever read a fucking gift card can say "encouraging" things. In that aspect Trump is not really better or worse than most people. The problem is his empty bravado and hate mongering. He plays to the lowest of human instincts. And by the way, PATRIOTISM means being willing to work and sacrifice for the greater good of ones country and fellow citizens. Trump is not a patriot. He just uses the word a lot, because he knows it gets people riled up.
This is NOT the full speech; rather it's edited to sway opinion. Well, here's my opinion, since you seem so into them; the military despised Barack H. Obama, and they love Trump.
To the parents of this young boy tell your son of who not to respect the unrespectable trump. Be honest and do not allow your son to pay attention to such a disgraceful crooked con liar and deviant
When I was there I personally think he did a good job. Most of us there were over 15, the youngest were at least 14 or 13. Also Pres. Trump was just kidding about Tom Price, he even said that, not into the mic, but those of us up front could hear it.
Look at you! Got the talk down! You're half-way to the presidency! Congrats. The Washington Post has dropped major news on this terrible administration nearly every day for six months. They are killin' it, especially on all the Trump-Russia connections. Trump knows it and is scawred.
+Misaka Mikoto: as expected, Trumpanzees love to hate the Washington Post. Have you nothing better to do than watching and commenting the "failing Washington Post"???
I listened to his *full* speech, and I have a troop-mate who was there. The president gave a great speech - I loved it, the scouts loved it - they were chanting "USA" and were cheering. He talked about "momentum" in his speech, which as a scout leader I think is good moral-of-the-story for the scouts. The moral was actually more beneficial than a majority of what was taught at National Youth Leadership Training, which I took a couple years ago. I'm a recent Eagle scout who's been on a several campouts/programs, and I can tell you the scouts have mentioned a lot worse than "hell" during our Monday meetings. He didn't say anything wrong, he didn't "Insult Everything the Boy Scouts Stands for" (-Washington Post), and the majority of scouts enjoyed the speech. It's ridiculous a youtube comment from a boy scout is more accurate than the press. * Eyerolls *
But see the problem is, they didn't put in all of the good stuff he said to us. I was at the jamboree. He said so much good about us and how to succeed. I'm not saying trump is the best person in the world, I'm just saying that we need to talk about the good as well.
We have scout camp in Denmark at the moment 37,000 participants they come from all over the world Japan, UK, Uganda, Mexico and Belgium.... Political speeches are not on the menu, and do not belong there.
Oh, be quiet you clowns. New President, new traditions and behavior. Americans no longer want conniving lawyers as our presidents and politicians. NO MORE!
We hear so much about Trump having mental health issues. Watching this leaves me in no doubt that Trump is completely MAD. He said he was standing before a record crowd. Did he get that verified, or is it the same record crowd that was at his inauguration. I really am starting to feel sorry for Americans.
Trump: Calls DC a sewer WP: "Trump Calls DC a 'Sewer'", shows video clip of Trump calling DC a sewer. Trump supporters: FAKE NEWS! So according to Trump supporters, Trump himself is fake news
He called DC a sewer? I'm shocked! Shocked that he can demonstrate such a keen grasp of the obvious, despite the repeated assurances I've had from the WaPo and the rest of the media that he's dumber than dirt. -jcr
If you are going to make an argument about boy scouts, get actual boys scouts to play the part. Don;t get a bear cub or a Webelo scout because they have not achieved the official scout rank yet. Also dont use little kids
I would think if you are addressing Boy Scouts, you would have better talking points, obviously this is just a small snip it of his speech but come on ...
What a disgraceful way to talk to kids. The President should be setting an example of dignified adulthood, but this---this is beyond disgraceful. He might as well be a staggering drunk.
The five things refer to talking points from which we can outline or summarize the main concerns that the President addressed during his speech. Think of them as the title of a chapter from a book and then you read about the ideas and stories related to those chapter titles. Trump gave lots of ideas, many of which were unrelated to the Boy Scouts.
Those two scouts definitely would not pass the age requirements for this event I was there the average was 17-16 years old and was wanting a campaign style speach from evrone I talked to from Texas to Michigan
I listened to the entire speech. He spoke about hard work, perseverance, finding something that you like and being happy in life. 95% of his speech was just that. He did add some quips and take a few shots at the media, Obama, Hillary and the Swamp and the crowd roared their approval. They even chanted "We love Trump". Any good speaker will tell you that getting the audience involved keeps their interest. These WaPo selected quips comprised less than 5% of the speech. This is why most intelligent Americans call the main stream media #FakeNews. Just watch the entire thing with an open mind (without anti or pro-Trump bias) and tell me I'm wrong.
Johnny Foreigner ...haha! Washington Compost! How original, just like 'fake news'. You are truly a wizard of wit and original thought, little Infowarrior.
Indeed, I though a little originality would be a breath of fresh air in this echo chamber although calling out Trump for attending a Scout's Jamboree makes a change from the perpetual Russia, Russia, Russia narratives.
I am disappointed that so many of these comments and this video picks out only these comments when 90 % of the speech was positive toward the country and toward Boy Scouts. I ask that other adult Boy scouts listen to the whole speech and not let your preconceived prejudices fix your opinion. We have to find some middle ground and find a way to respect each other.
So let's see… 1. Calling out Washington on being a corrupt shithole is simply a fact. 2. Taking what is obviously friendly banter as a threat is hilariously pathetic on the Washington Post's part. 3. Having a strong work ethic is essential in Boy Scouts, why is it bad to give a good example of bad work ethic? 4. Literally just complementing the crowd. 5. As an Eagle Scout, I wouldn't take what the central BSA says to heart. When they chose to support homosexuality and gender dysphoria, they decided identity politics was more important than scouting's principals of good character and a proper moral compass. I would have nothing but disdain for such cowardly people.
+chris L *why are you here?* Now that is a really good question. Why is anyone here? Some would say to improve the species. Clearly you are not one of those people. +chris L *do you think anyone cares about you?* Now that is a really good question as well. I care about him. I even care about you (sort of). The admonition is to "Do unto others as we would have them do unto us." Which, of course, presupposes that we care about each other. That is probably a bit too tribal for a narcissist but if you think about it you will get it eventually. +chris L *You are a loser* No, he is a winner and he voted for a winner. You on the other hand voted for a looser (or more likely didn't vote at all)... so... if he is a winner and the converse is true ... yeah ... Hillary for Prison 2017
What's funny is, the liberal fake news media is whining about President Trump's hilarious speech as being "inappropriate", yet have no problem with gay men that like to sodomize each other and cross dressers now being left alone with these poor young boys out in the woods...
Whats not funny is this asshole of a president gets in front of boys scouts and spew his political garbage. He is the swamp. The shit in the camole. I see you need a lesson in how to act civilized too. Lesson 1 there is a proper place in time for everything.
