I would NOT paint the Bombay chest. The wood tones act as a neutral. If everything is in a white or cream it begins to blend together as your eyes travel over it. The Bombay chest goes nicely as is with your other items and provides a warmth to the space.
I think I’d leave the chest as it is now. The colors work, and it’s a nice contrast to your other furniture. Plus anything with drawers is so useful in a small space. Live with it and see how you feel later.
I can’t believe I’m going to say this because I usually always want to paint all of the furniture but I say leave the Bombay as is! It’s beautiful just like the rest of your condo! And you should do more of these decorating videos. I love seeing how you put everything together.
The Bombay is beautiful. If it isn't old then you should do what you like with it. Whatever you decide it will be beautiful. I love your channel. I learn so much. Everything is just beautiful in condo. 😊
These are always my favorite videos when you do over/upscale furniture. I love how everything turned out. Just beautiful! As far as the bomba table I would leave it as is. It's a wonderful contrast to the rest of your decor. Just a gorgeous piece. You did great finding those pieces they are all real wood, which is rare nowadays.
Love the bombay chest. I'd leave the wood as is and only paint over the old flower patterns and update with new transfers. It is a gorgeous piece. I can't wait to see what you do. It is a substantial piece of furniture. You go girl you have great ideas and you home and condo are beautiful🏫
Your condo looks lovely with these new pieces Teresa. Personally I would keep the bombay piece the way it is because I like the old world feel it has. But I'm sure if you paint it, it will look equally as beautiful. Great job styling everything.
I think the side table you painted is nice but I think the previous one in the living room was prettier and much more interesting. I was so sad when the round piece broke off the bathroom cabinet but that was a nice save to put the emblem you had on it.
Love everything - how beautiful it all is! You are so inspiring in the way you have a vision for how things will look. I absolutely love the beautiful way you staged everything, especially with the swan and chandelier art. Oh my word the bathroom is gorgeous! I’ve had the same hard decision with painted pieces like your Bombay chest. It’s hard to make them fit in, but it’s also hard to paint over some things so beautiful. It would look beautiful either way. Thank you so much for a Friday video, it was very enjoyable and motivating! 🥰❣️
Shucks Thresa! I was wanting to see what you did with that bombay chest because I have had one for years very similiar! I want to copy your idea .......when.......you come up with one! :)
The condo has come together so beautifully! I love the Bombay chest as is however, I would do something to the drawers. The florals don’t seem to fit your vibe. Just my opinion. My favorite is the china cabinet. Wow. I just love how that turned out! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
I guess I am with your daughter. The floral part dates the Bombay chest, in my opinion. But, if you paint it, something would need to replace the floral part. Maybe an IOD paint inlay? Everything turned out beautifully! Love that swan! So elegant! 😊
As always, everything you touch turns to beautiful. For myself, I am tired of white furniture. I am liking wood tones, bleached wood lately. But, yours is beautiful. I would wait on the Bombay chest until I saw a paint style/technique/color that I truly loved and then go for it. I think it needs drama.
Teresa those furniture pieces turned out just beautiful and what an amazing home you have, you are so blessed. The two of you seem to be a match made in Heaven, you both are so talented and creative. Love your channel!
I love the sailboat. I took several screen shots. I’m going to attempt making one. Loved the beautiful swan on the cabinet. It’s amazing what a difference a few coats of paint do for furniture pieces. Love the Bombay chest as is.
Oh Teresa. Don't paint the Bombay. First it's gorgeous and second it ties with your floor...a few unpainted pieces in your decor will give your eye a rest when looking at all the white.
I am not a wood purist! But, if you want to lose the value and uniqueness of that Beautiful Bombay chest, paint it. It will ruin it! End table, sure, paint it or sofa table or bed, etc. You just don’t run across a Bombay every day. By the way, florals never outdate.
Please do not paint it. It looks wonderful in the space. It coordinates with the chair backs. An idea I had was if you don’t want the lamp on it, you could move the side chair and put a floor lamp there instead. You have great style.
Why is the end table smashed against the sofa. If there aren't a few inches to set it free then it's too large for that spot. Why is the chair smashed against the entertainment center. All nice furniture. The night stand works perfectly. The China cabinet was a great makeover.
I think painting the light wood sections on the bombe chest BLACK and then use burnished gold on the hardware would make a very sophisticated piece. Please don't paint it white!
It is expandable and can be pulled out to be longer. I thought I said that in the video. I can always expand it in the future if I want. Currently I’m just happy to have a sturdy piece for the TV.
Paint the bombe dresser. It's way too much. (correct name is bombe with an accent on the e, French for "swollen out" referring to the shape, not the place Bombay. ) it is not valuable it's modern, and it's fine to paint it.
Sure hope you are not going to destroy that table by painting it. If you don’t like it, sell it to someone who will love and buy yourself something you will love.
