EMT I would like to know if it is normal when I use my dji osmo mobile 2, my iphone gets very hot and the battery is very fast, is it normal? Thank you so much 😊

The battery definitely will drain pretty quick. That’s why I almost all the time have it plugged in a battery. It shouldn’t get super hot but definitely warmer then usual. Specially if your filming at 4K 60 fps. If it’s scary hot go to the store for them to check it just in case. Hope this helps!

thanks for the tip. just picked up the 2nd gen after my 1st one died on me. i like buying my gear from best buy with the geek squad protection. when my mobile 1 died 3 months ago, Bestbuy gave me my money back because it was under their geek squad warranty period. that was $350.

Paying attention to ones footing is such an important tip! Luckily I’ve been using a steady cam for years now so proper footing is second nature to me (wow, that sounds like bragging... 😉) but surely most gimbal users think that such a technology is foolproof and will compensate anything.

Why is there a slight studder when panning? Like around 25-30 seconds when panning the mountains it’s not a smooth pan. Was it shot at 60fps or is this a RU-vid thing? I love your content man. I was gunning for a movi but I think you’re convincing me to get Osmo. I can’t justify the $300 price of the movi. Can the Osmo have a rode mic attached to it? Thank you for your time. Subscribed.

The slight shudder tends to happen when the shutter speed value dips below your frame rate x2. It gets a bit amplified with The slowmo. In order to prevent it make sure your shutter speed is always twice the frame rate. Example: 24fps - 1/50th shutter, 60fps - 1/120th shutter Hope this helps! 🤘🏼

EMT So will you get this while using the stock Osmo program or filmic pro? Or is this a thing that you have to change in post with adobe or logic. I’m a noob and I haven’t even purchased a good computer yet. I’m just researching heavily before I go all in. Also, can you attach a rode mic to this gimbal? Thanks again for the speedy reply!!!!

Anytime! You can actually change those settings in the DJI Go app. It gives you control over the shutter speed, iso and more! You can also use Filmic for more control. You could attach a Rode Vide Micro with the proper ring adapter and lightning splitter. Checkout this idea list. The ring is there and the splitter as well! Using an iPhone 7, any tips when using filmic pro as there is the iPhone stabiliser, the filmic pro stabiliser and the of course the osmo should I turn the filmic pro one off?

Well, depending on the type of movement. If its very subtle the DJI Go app offers the most tools for timelapses and active tracking. If you’re moving briskly then the Camera app and Filmic Pro provide Digital Image Stabilization to compensate for the small jittery movements caused bu the OIS mechanisms. I add on top of this a bit of software stabilization if needed. I mostly use the native camera and switch accordingly. Hope it helps!

haven't started yet actually. Just getting prepped to do mobile video.. obtained Filmic Pro, Lumafusion, Ulanzi ll065 adapter, Manfrotto PIXI Mini tripod, two regular tripods, and a monopod so far. Excited for the osmo mobile 2. No particular direction as for video yet. Soon gonna be setting up a channel for it. Keep doing what you do. Enjoy your material.

ok haven't received the osmo mobile 2 yet...beginning of april. but i went ahead and put a quick video together. (needed more B Roll footage, so i figured lets see what i can create with what I've obtained so far. I travel quite a lot and bought a DJI Spark at Christmas so mainly videos of travelling, adventures, hotels, restaurants etc. I am a confident person in general but not sure about being in front of camera yet.....so will be behind the screen for now.

I feel that if you never had one the Osmo Mobile 2 is a must for the extra battery life, tripod mount and portrait shooting mode. Of you had one already then it’s not a huge difference other than the price. But overall the DJI Osmo Mobile 2 would be my recommendation. 🙂

Hi! Just got my very first Gimbal - DJI Osmo Mobile 2. I've been following your channel, which I think is great, so today I've been going back over the videos for tips and tricks to try. The sound is great is this video. How did you record? Just the phone's mic? Can't figure out yet an easy way to add an external mic to the gimbal. Keep going!

Congratulations on your Osmo Mobile 2!!! Everything is straight from the iPhone X microphone. I think it does a good job but definitely a challenge when trying to include a mic. I’m ordering a couple of things that might help and if I’m successful I’ll share them here! I want to make sure it works and that it’s practical before sharing links and stuff. Thanks for your time! Glad you liked the videos! I recommend 1080p 60fps. I also render everything at 24fps but filming at 60 or higher helps with sporadic slow motion clips! Thanks for sharing your time with me! Hope this helps! 🤘🏼

Personally I benefit more with the Osmo Mobile 2 since it matches my personal style. The Smooth 4 though has great controls and precision regarding setting up a shot and customization. Focus, resolution, rotation and more. Which one are you more interested in? What’s making you consider the other?

EMT yea right. Smooth 4 has more modes but are they really useful or useable with its "not cleverly designed app"? I want to use it for long term and without any problems. Also want some really stable footage like thats wht its meant for. Which one you prefer for me? You got both lol so can recommend. You are experienced with both.
