Hope to visit Fenway Park one day. All the history there from Ruth, Teddy ballgame to Fisk and on. Even the beatings of my 04' & 13' Cardinals. I'd love to eat at Yankee Lobster, looked so good on DDD.😊
I'm all the way out in Cali, but have been a Bruins fan since 2008 and Red Sox fan since 2010. Love going to my dads house wearing Red Sox gear cause he's a die hard Giants fan. Must suck to be him, lol. GO BOSTON!!
Thanks for the video, Jack. I am working in Boston a couple day of the week and have been trying to figure out how to get to Fenway. Growing up in northern NH we hardly ever went to Boston so I hadn't figured out how to get to Fenway from South Station. I am working right on Summer street so thanks for telling me which train to take.
Great video, my friend. I'm from Brazil and one day I'll be in Boston to attend a Red Sox and a Celtics game. If you can, please make a video with the same tips but in a game at TD Garden! Best wishes! Go Sox and Go Celtics!
Thanks for the tips. Long time Jay's fan and the wife and I are going to fenway in August. I can't wait for this, it's been a lifelong dream to catch a game at that grand stadium!
Great video and great advice, outside if take rhe Comuter rail from South Station lol. I absolutely love Fenway and can't wait to return. I moved to Texas in 2021 with my husband so I can't wait for him to experience a Sox game at Fenway maybe a Sox Yankee game. I'm hoping to finally attend a game at Globe Life this season when the Sox play the Rangers.
Great vid. Going on a roadtrip from Ontario to boston to see my Toronto Blue jays play the first and third game of the series after the all star break tommorow. Includes new Hampshire, Boston Ma, and Maine. Go canada! Gonna definitly rep my vladdy jr blue jays jersey.
I'm not a big baseball fan, but I do love to travel and explore new places. Thank you for taking me on an outing today! Been home sick for a year this month from extreme fatigue after having covid last February. Great to finally get out! Never ever hear much of anything about Boston. First video I've ever watched about Boston. Definitely enjoy the Boston accent. Would love to hear more of that! And see how much was the food inside?
about what to wear... me and a couple of friends almost got into a fight with a person wearing a yankees jersey postgame at fenway. but i still love it. you have a new sub
Went and watched a few weeks ago I’m from South Carolina and people where so nice and friendly. They love us southern folks. Good times and they swept the yanks.
I'm going to Boston next week to see a game. I'm in G10, so I'll do my neck stretches. I'm looking forward to getting a hat, a souvenir soda, a Fenway frank, and taking in the atmosphere while crossing off something from the ol' bucket list. Fucking jazzed. Thanks for the tips!
Great vlog we’re in town for the game on May 3rd 2022 with love box 120 seats looking forward to getting back to Fenway, last at a game in September 2008 , need to stock up on my merch 👍🏻⚾️❤️
You can also take the Worcester commuter rail to Polar Park to see the Worcester Red Sox as Union Station in Worcester is within walking distance to the park.
@@jsteinberg48 it certainly has changed. Beautiful inside, though only vending machines for food and drink, unless the restaurant happens to be open and is expensive. Intercity buses are downstairs. City buses are next to them. Second train platform being constructed now.
You will in the future oh yeah boston red sox of fenway park . I do love boston celtics in the NBA go red sox baseball and celtics basketball bruins hockey team too . Go sox in fenway park !!!
We are so pumped to get to Fenway this year! If you’re staying near Revere Beach & If we use the T to get to Fenway, do we really need to ride the Blue Line and “get off at State Street, transfer to the Orange Line toward Forest Hills; then get off at Downtown Crossing, and follow signs for the Winter Street Concourse to Park St.” as the Red Sox’s site suggests, or can we just take the Blue to the Green? And can we reverse it to get to the hotel/car with just green-to-blue or do we have to do the Orange as well?
Love the video, going to my 1st game there in june to watch my brewer's. Will b there er to see them on Saturday and sunday.staying at the Marriott copley, what train do I take(if any)?
Awesome Video Jack! We're headed to Boston and will catch a game in August (2 families, kids 10 to 17). Any tips on seats, where to buy tickets & timing (StubHub currently at 75 US), shade (I suspect it will be hot in August), etc. Someone mentioned the balcony views are good? Any other tips you may have for us will be greatly appreciated. And yes, I'll be wearing my Blue Jays paraphernalia. By the way, are you allowed to bring a bag inside? We got caught with that last year in Seattle, my wife had a purse we had to run somewhere last minute to put it in a locker.
Hotel Commonwealth is where you NEED to stay. GREAT hotel and fairly priced for the area (about $275). It's at Kenmore Station a 5-10 minute walk to the park and you can get a room with a view of Fenway across the expressway!.
The Trillium Beer Garden a few blocks away from the stadium is a great post game break. If you're getting a Lyft or Uber the price shoots back down within 30-45 min of the game being over. Might as well grab a beer and take it easy instead of rushing out to grab a ride.
I just bought 2 tickets for the standing room only monster seats. I paid right at 240 for both but being first time in Boston and first Sox game I think it’s worth it. (Also playing the A’s) Do you have any suggestion on just a couple days in Boston on the absolute have to see? Eating at Cheers is the on the list and sure Beacon Hill but anything else?
Hi Jack, travelling from Ireland to Boston in May 2022, we don’t understand baseball and it’s not a sport that’s played here but we appreciate the history of Fenway Park, would you still recommend going to a game or doing a tour? Great video by the way :-)
I'm a lifelong Red Sox fan in Los Angeles. If you wear Red Sox or any other gear to a Dodger game, keep your head on a swivel, especially if it's San Diego or San Fransisco gear. Very sad that your life can depend on it. If you wear Red Sox gear to an Angels game, it all good. You're get booed at or get some good fun sh!t talking to, but they are pretty cool at the Angels games. Plus it cost a lot less.
The Residence Inn by Marriott (125 Brookline Avenue). It's quite pricey, but it's beautiful, and it's not even a 5-minute walk to Fenway . The rooms are great, like your own apartment. Also, there's a Marshalls right across the street, where there's LOTS of affordable Red Sox gear, and you can cut through the alley nearby where there's a Target. There's also a nice set of bars and food options
The cost of taking the green line is way cheaper than the commuter rail so if you have a large group the green line is better in terms of cost however you are packed in like sardines. The commuter rail can cost as much or more than parking near Fenway
Yes, true, but not much more for such a short distance. And from South Station, commuter rail is direct, where subway would require Red Line to Green Line switch at Park Street.
@@nativebostonianguide I'm 81 and for me, any time I can save steps is more than worth it. The Purple line drops me at the front door, so well worth it. Have fun. The last time I caught a game "Yazz" was in left field so I'm sure I will see some changes! lol
Had box seats @ fenwsy section 17..25 rows up. Right on first base side..25 rows up.under the nessinine..best seats in the park..my opinion. Only ones better..are right next to the dugouts..back in 1992. I bought games just on tge weekend. Friday..Saturday Sunday games..54 tickets per season..not counting playoffs tickets.. I could name my price I wanted..tge doxx..were just starting to be conpettive. Nothing beats a fenwsy sausage peppers n onionsgrinder..... delicious.. with the economy..the way it is..can't imagine?? Takjng a family of 5..to a game..so expensive..if 1 grinder n a coke comes to 20 bucks.. wow!! I can just imagine. Inside the park. I.last time I went to fenway..1 beer. N sausage grinder. Came up to 24 bucks..n this was outside the park..11 bucks for a regular large budweiser..no thank you!! I use to drive my vehicles to a game..not anymore..use to park on tge street. Or right across fenwsy park..in a parking garage. Would cost me 21.00 to park..wasn't bad ten years ago..I still owe..thousands of unpaid parking tickets lol..oh well!! I still had a blast..
There are a lot of tickets that say no obstructed view that are badly obstructed. I don’t have the same special feeling about Fenway that other people do because I’ve had so many bad experiences there with obstructed views. I wouldn’t mind if they tore the whole thing down and rebuilt it
You probably weigh 300 lbs, too. There are very few obstructed views and the poles underneath the upper tier are not wide enough to be a problem. The only complaint that is real is the RF seats face out towards CF which is clearly dumb, a design flaw and needed to be fixed years ago. Other than that, there is no bad seat and it's the best baseball experience left out there by a mile.
@@afmartin2734 No not a fatty. I’ve probably been to Fenway well over 100 times, many of those times were horribly obstructed views. The poles underneath the upper tier are a huge problem, pretty much everyone sitting behind those poles can’t see at least 1 player on the field. I’ve sat in seats where I couldn’t see the batter or seats I couldn’t see the pitcher
Never buy any seat without checking the view. As long as you do that, they really aren’t any terrible seats. Tearing down 100+ years of history because you can’t handle checking the seat view is BS. They should probably remove the pole seats though.
Go to a Flyers playoff game wearing a Pens jersey. My car was being assaulted with ice cups, plastic bottles (presumably with alcohol in them) and insults on my way out of the parking lot.
Boston however killed 2 birds with 1 stone kept and renovated Fenway and built a state of the art new ball park with Polar Park even though it is tripple a
Exactly. That guy has no idea what he is talking about. I can got get a sub from my local sub shop and it's going to be $12-$13 without the coke and it's more like $15 now with inflation. What he should be telling people is the value, quality, etc, of the italian sausage subs and the bread you get blows away the value on the inside. He sort of hints at that, but that's what you should eat on the way in....Anything from a street vendor is the best and everyone who goes to a game locally knows that. We used to get one sub on the way in at dinner time, like 5:30 and then grab one to split on the way out. Total bargain for what it is.
Native Bostonian I find that hard to belief... I was born n raised n Somerville and I don't remember any native sounding like that....lol everyone's from Boston..
@shannonmartyniuk4882 it's a fine walk...just don't walk in the Fens, which is a park like area. Stay on the main roads and there are tons of people after a game and you'll be fine.
No one removes their caps and stands for the Anthem in Boston?? Wow I am surprised. When I was younger and attending Red Sox games you had better stand or get punched by a drunk Bostonian!
I doubt this guy is a "Native Bostonian" about as much from Boston as 'Boston Rob' who was from Canton MA which is not one of the neighborhoods of Boston. You're not a Bostonian just because your parents might have had you in a Boston Hospital or you went to college here. Did you go to BPS? Or one of the local parish schools? If you were not raised as a kid in the city, you are just from Massachusetts.
This guy is not a native. He's some translpant. You don't need to go to South Station to do what he's talking about here. It depends where you are and which approach you need to take to the park. It might be the red or green line. And, if he knew what he was talking about, he wouldn't go to Regina's near the park and he'd be suggesting an Italian sausage sub w/peppers and onions that isn't part of the corporate stuff right on those streets. A sausage and a coke is not expensive. The sandwich is easily worth $10. And, it kicks ass. Also, a Bostonian doesn't put mustard on it. It's not a bratwurst. Another dead giveaway this Patton Oswalt guy isn't a native
