I’m new to blogging, I’ve never understood what it meant. Like I’m a total beginner! But, I am majoring in creative writing (among other subjects) so I learned that I love to write! It’s so therapeutic. I even took a non credit class just be I love writing so much! However I have no idea where to begin. Btw. I’m writing this comment in the beginning of your video so I’m sure I’ll learn something 😂❤😊🎉

I would say don't rush trough and pay someone to fix it all for you if you're using a platform, start experimenting at full speed for at least good 6 months or a year. After all this time you for sure know more or less what are you doing and you found your own voice on the matter you're covering. There's all sorts of plugins and settings and stuff related to your host provider you should be savvy about if something goes wrong. Good habits are made along the way but most importantly once you start it's like having a child, you must keep pushing no matter what!
But are you interested in creating a blog? Why were you drawn to the idea of starting a blog in the first place? If you're interested, just focus on one thing at a time. Like one focus per month. Get a wordpress blog on the site itself with no domain and focus on just creating content for one month. Then research SEO. Then if you're interested, look at self hosting options and how you would migrate your site over. It seems like a lot but you only have to do one thing at a time

And then I get this notification. Talk about confirmation. Yes, I'm still interested in creating a blog. I've come to realize that I struggle with mental blockages and imposter syndrome. @@lynn682 no problem, LOL wow I'm glad I was part of the universe's plan to nudge you forward. It's an honor. I saw your comment and didn't want you to give up without first trying it out. Out of curiosity what causes the mental blockage? Decision paralysis? As for the imposter syndrome...really nobody knows what they're doing when they're first starting out. And plus it's kinda good that you don't think you know everything or don't feel competent because you can use it to learn new things. Everyone starts off as a beginner. Plus if you are where you are, you got there because some part of you earned that position or good fortune. Think about the good qualities you have that get you to your successes. I used to experience imposter syndrome before too but the way I bypassed it was by figuring out why I got to that point in life. Where I might've fallen short on know how or experience in the beginning, I knew I was sincere and hardworking and got things done. Those qualities can get you pretty far if you don't give up. So next time you experience imposter syndrome, list out the qualities that got you to that point in life where you've experienced success. I hope that helps, I love the fact that you were looking at journal entries. It shows that you are still interested, which is great news and a good sign that this is something you should explore. HI👋 Thanks for asking! Well things definitely fizzled out for me and the blog I have an 18 month old and I just gave birth last month to my son last month so my time is very limited. I wish someone could just put it together for me and I just focus on writing lol.

I personally hate the way ads look on some websites and usually will come off the website quickly. Hi Cathrin, I watch your video on Blogging for beginners, but my question is Would blogging be right for me? I am a short story writer and I want to get my stories out to people., but I am not sure if blogging is the right way to go. What do you think?
The ratio between thumbs up and thumbs down is really high so maybe there aren't enough people with my problem for it to be worthwhile to consider but..... I'm 77. Before a couple of months ago, the only things I ever did on a computer were word processing, emailing and watching RU-vid videos. Then our son asked a friend of his to set up a phpBB site so I can post things online for the general public to see. Since then, I've been trying to learn how to manage the site (group various topics together and show my posts for each topic in the order I post them - last post first). I THINK the content of this tutorial would be / will be helpful if or when I am able to understand it but please consider watching it yourself with me (and other old fogies) in mind. Even if you were talking about a subject with which I am familiar, your rapid-fire delivery would be problematic. Because you are using words and phrases with which I'm not familiar, understanding what you say ranges from very difficult to impossible. Another person commented about your pronunciation of "console". Maybe part of my problem is that your diction is not as crisp as it might be - a problem especially when you are using words or phrases in ways that are specific to this topic and thus not yet part of my "computer lexicon".
My current struggle is I want to post my art, blog my story, and be a motivational speaker. Do I need separate accounts for different subjects or can I have it all under once account?
I tried to start a blog this month. I did the blue host, I even paid to get a logo done professionally, whatever it took I was willing to do it. But over 1 weekend I gave up because NO ONE not even the technicians at Bluehost could help me figure out how to get over the DASHBOARD and how to work it so my blog looked presentable. I cancelled everything in a fit of rage and frustration. I am doing this completely alone. I still want to do this -_____- but I am really discourage. I feel 3 years ago the whole blog setting up was so much more user friendly. Any tips or resources that can teach how to use the dashboard.
I also just started less than a week now and did the basics myself…If you have time, I'd suggest you watch youtube videos on how to get them done yourself. There are a lot of RU-vid channels that will help you get all this things done and also you can join a community of like minded people who will be ready to guide you all the way through
