You forgot to mention the lack of decent equipment too LOL. *hands out ceremonial combat knife* Are you aware of the Trooper grenadier combo? Also being able to use Neutralize Target * on activated targets * from a vantage point can be very strong on open boards.
@@CommandPoint he meant a trick against non-elite teams: give frag to a trooper, send him TP1 to the place with decent amount of enemies by the end of the turn so he could throw grenade next turn, use clearence sweep and have fun - you can spend 2 elite points for free for each target that was hit by grenade blast (within CS range of course).
@@nikitadovidchenko6336 100% on the trooper drag grenade thanks! @CommandPoint it’s not too hard to get the conditions of neutralize target at all. Shoot an activated model and it either needs to be on engage order OR concealed without cover. So shoot dudes that already have activated on engage, OR either drop a warden auspex on them from the recon trooper, OR shoot at a model concealed model from vantage. Auspex removes the no cover rule and vantage allows you to treat a concealed operative like they have an engage order. A little tricky but I’ve been able to get the conditions
I Use reposition almost every turning point constantly planning my tactics around it: you can leave objective at the beginning of a turning point to make it your "vital objective" you can push forward with your gunners if you win initiative or fall back to evade hazardous enemy charges and at least half of this times it surprises the opponent. Sometimes it just worth it just to keep only one model safe (let's say to cover your sergeant after recklessly shooting his plasma pistol at the end of turning point) The only hard thing here is to create safe blobs of specialist on different flanks to make your opponent guess which one you want to reposition but it actually not necessary.
I find that using the recon trooper's extra scouting option to get the marksmen on a vantage point early has been extremely effective on open board. The ability to guarantee mortal wounds while shooting a silent weapon can lock down key areas. Combined with positioning the demo mine correctly is an extremely effective combo for board control.
Also u got 10 dudes, save your best weapons for last n then first thing next turn just free dash em off the way with that tac ploy, n with plasma guns remove one of ur 1s so a fail can become a hit whn u overcharge your shot
Thanks for the video. I like the reroll initiative ploy. If i had a 2/3 chance id be tempted. Or if i was desperate and it really mattered i may take the 50/50 especially given im likely not using CP on other ploys and ive got elite points for dice fixing.
An other cool play with the demo mine: if you are against a malee focused team, you I you can put it between two or more of the enemy units, you can chose it's target. This usually happens near objectives so you can double dip with the main advice for it. Also keep in mind that it can go through walls on open maps
