One tip I remember seeing for people with tight tension when working with a yarn or pattern that calls for loose tension is sizing up on the hook. Certainly been helping me lately with a pattern where I'm using chenille yarn.

A lot of people struggle with closing a magic circle when using Chennile yarn. This is how I do it: When working with chenille yarn, you have to gradually close your magic ring/circle. So after you work some stitches into the circle, you tighten it a bit. This makes it much easier. I hope that this made sense 🙈

@@sillylilthingsanother solution if this is still too hard because of bunching is to make 2 chains and then in the 2nd chain single crochet the amount of stitches that are supposed to be in the magic ring

I haaaaate working with fluffy yarn (chenille, faux fur, all of it), but the results are so nice. Loose tension definitely helps, and personally I find knitting with it easier than crocheting - the knitting needles already hold the loops for you, so there's no risk of missing them or unintentionally working one twice. If I do crochet, I use TONS of stich markers. I'll mark the beginning of a round, increases and decreases, and if I'm working a long section of plain stitches I'll even place markers at set intervals to make counting easier if I lose track (as often as every ten stitches if I find myself losing track frequently 😅)

I just got my order for chunky chenille yarn. I've never worked with it before and im not that experienced in crocheting. I'll try using this video to see if it helps later.

I swear! It was around 15-20 times that I pulled out the yarn and tried every sort of stitches to bring a perfect pattern for my pillowcase and finally ended up using double crochet (honestly the best for me 😅) but will progress more on patterns soon❤

Burn all the ends of the yarn when you cut the yarn if or when you start. I have made the mistake of not doing it when I was a beginner and that never ends up well. And if you don’t know if a pattern is to hard for you and you are just going to give up try out the pattern on a cheaper yarn first, it doesn’t have to be the whole pattern but try out some stitches so you know that you aren’t going to waste your fluffy and expensive yarn. Plan out what you want to make and don’t start something and then start another project because the case is that you are probably going to forget about the project and you aren’t gonna remember what pattern or what row you are on. I love working with this type of yarn but it can be super expensive

Yes burning the ends!! Ive been making scrunchied and my ends keep showing - i randomly thought about burning the end and it totally prevents the chenille/velvet from slipping off if you do it right!!

I bought some Chenille in different browns at Dollarama and did a swatch and I had no idea it was going to be so hard to see my stitches! I think it would look like animal fur on my little amigurumi animals but if i cant do the whole project in chenille I have an idea to to add it as fur in a just a few places, like along the back for a hedgehog or possum, or maybe ears for a teddy.

I don’t have a tip and there are many things I’d love to make with chenille, number one being a throw. But, every time I’ve tried to use it I get worming of the yarn. This is where the yarn just wiggles out of your finished product in loops. So your product has loops of yarn sticking out all over it. Does anyone know what I can do to avoid this?

Hi Leah! Help! I’m knitting a ponytail beanie and using black (😱) chenille yarn - but the ribbing is just not stretchy at all 🙈🙈. Please tel me what cast-on you recommend for this project, thanks 🙋🏻‍♀️

I’m having issues closing my circle for the magic ring. Are there any tips or videos that may guide me with this issue?
@Ribblr

A tip for magic ring with chenille yarn is to actually NOT do the traditional magic ring, but to instead do a ch-2, and work the stitches into the first ch. Then you can pull the beginning tail. To secure it you can weave it using a yarn needle. Hope that helps!

What to do if when i'm starting a magic circle but it immediately turn into cone once i slip stitch? I try to loose the tension, use a bigger crochet hook and add few stitches in magic circle but it still didn't work on me what do i do in this situation?😔
@Ribblr
@Ribblr Год назад
For magic circle it's recommended to make it loose in general, so you can work into the stitches more easily...try different things and see what works out for you!

I'm making a bear and this is the first time using this yarn. I'm having trouble with sewing the parts together because the needle breaks the yarn apart. I'm sooo frustrated. One of the ears came apart and I'm afraid to even try sewing any other parts now. How do I sew on the bear parts without ruining the yarn?
@Ribblr
@Ribblr 9 месяцев назад
Hi! There are different options, the first one id actually NOT to sew with the chenille yarn, but to use acrylic in the same color instead. You can still try to sew with chenille yarn but use the LARGEST darning needle you have, so there's less friction and the yarn fibers stay intact. And try to go around the.stitches when you sew and not through them, again, to create less friction! Good luck!

Hi, i know it's been a while but maybe someone would see this. When i finished my project with polyester yarn it sometimes loses something, like tiny bits of material is falling off, especially with the blanket i made. Is it normal? Or is it the quality of the material issue? Thank you for the answer ☺
@Ribblr
@Ribblr 4 месяца назад
HI! It is quite normal - fluffy polyester yarn is made from tiny fibers that are connected to a thin string, so depending on the quality, you can find that the yarn that falls off more or less, but you can definitely expect some with all chenille yarn... Just keep a lint roller nearby! 😅

Fold the frayed part and grab it from where it's not fraying, then carry on working over the loop of frayed yarn

for chenille yarn (amigurumi), do you have to specifically do yarn over or yarn under? or does it not matter?
@Ribblr
@Ribblr Год назад
It's a personal preference, it does effect the final look a bit, but there's no major difference while crocheting if you do yarn over or yarn under
