How to keep a FIFA Career Mode save realistic
Analysing the squad
Find best young player (Under 21)
Try to figure out Avg Age of squad (Can be found on SoFIFA)
Figure out a formation and see where you need improvements
Compare existing squad to squad rules for the league
Youth Academy
Dont use academy scouts that are higher than your teams star rating
Try to only keep 1 or 2 players per area of the pitch, dont stockpile 5 LW’s while having 0 RW unless you plan to retrain
Scout countries that you have players from already
Neighbouring countries is another good place to scout
Buying Players
Fully scout a player before signing
Don't buy players that are more than 1-2 OVR higher than current best player, this rarely happens.
If you do, make sure it's either an old player returning to former club, or a short loan of a player from division above
EG if my starting 11's overall average is 66, the best player I can sign must be 68 rated. But, he can't be from a better team. The only exception is players over 30 years old, they can be 3 ratings above your starting 11's overall average.
Selling Players
Don't horde players, if you do reject an approach, offer the player a new contract.
If offer comes from team much better than yours and is over market value, chances are irl the team would accept
Keeping overall realistic
Dont sign players that are massively better than current existing young players. EG if you have an 19 year old with 70 overall, dont then sign a 17 year old who is 75 even if this is lower than your best players overall
Try to keep training to players who arent in starting XI
This helps with sharpness and will stop players increasing by 10 overall a season

In addition to everything you said: Be ruthless with your squad. If you're taking over a new team, dont be afraid to freeze out players (regardless of their rating) who dont fit the style you want to play. This is what a lot of managers do in real life, until the player decides to leave (example: Ozil at Arsenal). Pay attention to match ratings, and try where possible to rotate your starting 11 based on who is playing better, not who is higher rated. When negotiating contracts with players, only agree to a role which you can realistically give them. If they ask for "important", but you see them only being a "rotation" player for you, then too bad. You must end negotiations with the player, and let events unfold. Contract negotiations fall through all the time in real life. This is a great way of counteracting the way that FIFA pretty much lets you buy any player without much fuss. If you are playing as a team in a lower division, do not sign players from the league/s above you, unless it is a loan, or the player is transfer listed. Likewise, if you are playing in the premier league, but are not playing in europe, do not buy players from teams who are playing european football that season. However, you should certainly sell to higher clubs should a suitable offer come in.

The problem with This is a lot of things in fifa career mode are broken. Like loans. I could play with stoke in the championship and ask to loan someone from Chelsea who won’t get games, the player will turn me down. (Presumably bc he doesn’t want to drop down/ it’s just broken) just to go out on loan to a team lower than me. Or a team in like Ukraine. Plus mangers lie/ don’t find game time for players all the time making them want to leave. (Example Donny van de beek at United/ Danny drinkwater at Chelsea, and auther at barca) I think it’s okay to sign a player maybe a 1 role higher than you wanted if you sell them when they get unhappy.

@@RyanGamin224 to your second point I agree but it’s rare and there’s usually only 1 or 2 of those kinds of players at the biggest clubs. I’d say it’s still a good rule to stick to for a realistic career mode because it becomes very boring if you have 20+ important/crucial first team players because obviously that would never happen in a reality. A good rule you could follow instead of that is to match your bench/reserves to teams of a similar stature, if you’re a mid table prem team have a bench similar to that level so mid to high 70s, if you’re a top team in Europe have a few 80s to mid 80s on the bench but don’t reach the point where you have some of the best players in the world in your reserves, if your entire bench is 85+ it’s unrealistic

Plus they need to bring back the cant sign from rival club or sell to rival club i do this a lot. I thought i was the only 1 doing the contract thing. If the player doesn't perform based on match rating and form, even if they are under 24, i refuse to improve their contract by much or simply sell for less than market value or let the contract run its course

Why my loan players are not playing a single game ever? I mean like I loaned fucking Odergard to Liverpool for 2 years and he played 0 matches .Yes 0 games .I mean like odergard was about 88 rated Liverpool had no better players for the position but my player still could not get a single match ....EA needs to fix it

Because, for example if you play a career in La Liga, player you loan in France, Germany or England, would not have any game play, because in your Team Menu, you could only see game play in La Liga, in Copa del rey, but not other league game of other country

I've got hundreds of hours on fifa and mainly only on Career mode. The biggest thing I do to keep my saves realistic is play almost every game. I rarely simulate any games, as it allows for me to have complete control over my squad and how they're playing, as well as seeing who fits the style the most. Additionally, it really makes the season feel more realistic, as you get closer to the end of the season and start getting tired and waiting for the work to pay off, and it makes it much more tense knowing that if you lose this FA cup final, this is going to be your last shot at silverware for a few real-life weeks.

@@jue4353 I also like this a lot more because my teams become a bit more varied. I can get a player with 80 potential up to 85-86 range due to dynamic potential, and also, I can learn to compete using 75 rated players because I get more used to them

Do most people sim a lot of games? Because I play almost every game like yourselves. I thought that was the whole point of playing a career mode on Fifa and the main thing that separates it from FM. Otherwise you may as well just play FM imo 😅

@@JamboGee92 I think most people don't have the patience to play every game, I mean 60 games a season sometimes and I personally play 12 minute halves, so at minimum I'm playing around 12 hours per seasion. That's just how I like it; one career mode can last me an entire fifa. But some people don't enjoy that I guess

This is a great guide! To make Career Mode's even more realistic, I use a second controller on the Team Selection for the A.I. team and make their team as close to what would realistically be used against my team and with custom tactics for them. A little research goes a long way. A rule with this is that you can't change your match day selection for your own squad whilst here, and the A.I. team has to go into this with no knowledge of what your team is. They can have an educated guess based on what formation, players and tactics you have been using over the course of the season. I disconnect the second controller before the ball is kicked.

Also, unless you are role-playing a manager who has the backing of the board, you should shortlist about 5 players who you would like for each position/role that you are aiming to sign for, and let a random choice picker select who you can buy. If negotiations fall through, you must let the choice picker select someone else. For each seasons you are there, you gain more trust, meaning season 2 you get 4 to choose from, season 3 you get 3 etc. I like to delegate Transfers too unless it is on Deadline Day. This makes Transfer Saga's more drawn out and forces you to get your business done ASAP.

I find strict negotiations are working well in my Newport County save. Currently on Season 6 and my highest earner is on £12k a week. Definitely stops you from signing OP players and big names.

When I start a new Career mode, I always to, at least in the first seasons, to copy the pattern of the transfers for that team in rl. For example, Liverpool in the last few years try buy young players from other leagues that can improve the squad and also develop at Klopp's management, or players that got relegated but can be a good fit for the team. So, if I start a career mode w/ Liverpool, I try to follow this patern at least in the first years, possibly changing something over time, cause the type of transfers that a team do doesn't stay the same for a lot of years

I’ll also add a little story with advice: In 20 I did a r2g blackpool career mode. Now I didn’t have the best scouts and most of my ya players weren’t all that great. But had 3 very decent prospects (of which one was a jackpot find). So signed those three on 5 year deals and after about three seasons or so of just purely realistic transfers, conserving transfer budget, etc. we were a top half team in the championship with an overall rating of around low 70s across the board. Overperforming by a bit. But those three ya players were mid 80s with one even being a high 80s player. Now they were all still young and very very good. Almost exclusively trained them, played them as much as a physically could and tried to keep them happy. Thought that building around youth would be a more financially stable path. Because they had 2 or so years left on their contracts and I felt that it would be very unrealistic for players who reached that rating to be in a top half championship side I sold all three and bought mid/low 70s players to expand on squad depth and improve some positions. It might seem unrealistic to some but it made logical sense to do it for me within the confines of keeping it as realistic as I could. Players who play really long cms know that you form bonds with ya players who grow to be very very good. But if you want to keep it realistic you always have to look at that player that you trained up and judge whether or not that player would be in a team like yours or move away. That one’s a sad one to do but if you’re really committed to keeping it realistic then you have to

If you're opting to manage one of the big teams in the league (LA Galaxy etc.) I'd recommend 1 or 2 high profile signings per season. I'd use the youth academy as the "MLS Superdraft" and promote 1 to 3 players (up to you)

The only reason I play this booty of a game is Career Mode. Really love position change mechanic. If they keep improving, which they probably won't, it could be really good. Only gripe is that I can't turn veteran fullbacks and CDMs into CBs or wide players with some defensive stats into fullback or it takes ages to do so.

Really great video mate! Realistic gameplay: put game speed to slow, as well as turning down pass speed, shot speed and player speed to 46 in sliders. And change camera to broadcast and put camera height down to minimum.

I would like to add the following of my own tips: 1) *Sign players max of 1 overall higher than average starting 11 overall ( 1 Exception allowed per season) 2) 50% prize money can be used for transfers 3) 50% of sold players fees can be added to transfer budget for that season 4) Have to always be in positive for net spend 5) No Training- It is overpowered 6) 2 Free agents max allowed per season 7) 5 players max for summer transfer window 2 Players max for winter transfer window Both include loans Exception, if you sell a player then you you may bring in one extra player for each sale on top of the 5 transfers for summer and 2 for winter 8) Can't Buy from a league better than the one you are in 9) Disable First season Transfer Window 10) No use of Sofifa or any other external source to find players Hope those tips are useful

I make a point that buying and selling to rivals is banned and I usually don't sell a player to the same league, I either sell them abroad if they're good enough or to a higher or lower tier, whichever applies

Ive actually been doing this since fifa 18... for example my espanyol career after 1 season i sold marc roca to lazio coz they paid his buyout, also even when i won the league 3 seasons later i sold 4 of my starting 11 and placed a spending cap for myself to keep it realistic saying that the rest went into stadium dev and etc... this is y career mode need stadium improvements and better sponsorship deals when ur club plays consistently good

mate i wish fifa could add a stadium development option like they have in ultimate team but even more immersive. like imagine ur playing as salford city and as you earn more from cups like the carabao cup and eventually european competitions, some of that prize money goes into transfers and some of it goes into stadium development so i can turn my stadium with a capacity of like 9k into a big stadium when i reach the prem. hopefully they add that since next gen has released

Another thing to consider, especially in road to glory career modes: Try balancing the age of your squad. You don't see teams stacked with 20 year-olds get back-to-back promotions. If you're playing with an English team from League One or Two, take a look at some BPL proven players around 30 to 32 years old. In doing this, try not to go for players who are legends for your rivals. For example, I know Portsmouth are very popular when it comes to this style of career mode, and players like Fonte, Schneiderlin or Lallana could seem like very tempting and decent options, but they proved themselves playing for rivals Southampton and probably wouldn't jump at the possibility of playing for you.

Tip always disable the 1st transfer market. I also transfer players that always move unrealisticly! For example kane to man u. If you transfer players to any club then put them back at the right club they usually stay for a year as it will say theyve just signed It works for me

I play on pc and if you want to make a totally unrealistic save: start a r2g, mod the icons into the game and put them in the teams they spent the most of their career at. If you play on a high difficulty it becomes extremely difficult to beat say Man Utd in the FA cup even if you’re a mid table prem team. It’s so challenging but also tends to be rewarding and the icons don’t transfer between AI teams until they reach about 30 or thereabouts. Some do randomly switch up but you can just use realism mods to keep it from happening. Eventually if you grow your club to the point where you can compete for the prem sign 1-2 icons (they should be old enough to not be £150M-£200M) and see if you can win the prem, cl, treble, etc. You’ll never know true fifa terror until you see a icon stacked Madrid in the semis of the cl on your calendar

Another tip if you can beat the computer on ultimate quiet easily: simulate every second game, so you get a more realistic league placement and don’t win the FA Cup with harrogate town straight away. Also you don’t have to Play more than 60 Games per Season (in Englang)

I try to do some team and league research when I use a lower league team to set spending rules and how they are known to spend. I just did an all mexican Guadalajara I'm probably going to do an all Nordic Copenhagen next.

When selling a player I make sure it's not an unrealistic transfer. I have an Arsenal career mode and thought of selling Aubameyang. Tottenham made a transfer offer for him which was incredibly unrealistic so I didn't sell him.

I do a challenge called the language challenge where you have to keep the majority of your team either from a country that speaks that language or someone who has played in that country for a while. Eg Someone from Argentina signing for a Spanish team or someone like Benzema who has played in Spain for a while

With my Dortmund career mode I stuck to it's youth rules. So I sold Sancho, Haaland, Brandt, Hazard to keep the flow of youth players consistent. I did this till we then became UCL winners. I've only bought 1 player over 83ovr. So I think mine is decently realistic

I always do a rule where I can block offers for two of my players and can only change it at the start of every season, if I want to.

Just sign one player in each transfer window. And sign youth academy based on director objective. This is how i manage to keep my career mode realistic.

3,5 season into my realistic Arsenal career mode my starting XI looks like this Malen 87 Martinelli 86 - Buendia 87 - Saka 92 Guendouzi 85 - Partey 88 Tierney 89 - Gabriel 87 - Saliba 84 - Bellerin 87 Leno 86 i know bellerins growth isn't realistic but i can't really do anything about it, i paid 80 million for 83 rated malen from valencia in 2022 after he won the 2022 world cup golden boot, buendia i bought for 30 million before the first season as he was heavily linked to arsenal at that time i'm enjoying the career mode a lot and have made a net profit from player transactions every season selling the like of nelson, willock, nketiah, elneny, xhaka, lacazette, aubameyang, cedric, mari and maitland-niles, mostly when they only had 1 year left on their deals

my bench and reserves consist of Parker (academy LW) 82, Kulusevski 85, Neto 83, Smith Rowe 83, Berge 83, Kamara 79, Netz 73, Baird (academy CB) 79, Holding 83, Musah 75, Raya 76 and a few academy players that aren't on loan atm, i've mostly bought ex-arsenal players and players linked to arsenal irl, kulusevski seemed like a fun option because he's a swedish right winger and netz was relegated with reading before i bought him so it was a realistic buy. raya, neto and berge have been linked with arsenal and kamara and musah are obviously ex-players. 9/11 of the starting XI are current arsenal players so that makes it more realistic as well, also i keep an eye on the maximum size of a squad (23) and the homegrown rule. i like to keep stats and fill in an excel sheet after every season with the player stats because they are not stored withon the game once you start a new season, my main wish for fifa 22 is having more player data and having it carried through season after season

I don’t really agree with small club bad scout, for example paris is so big with only psg as a good club cuz they can’t sign all the talents small clubs like le havre and lens have big talents sometimes they also really invest in youth. Thats just one example you don’t see this exclusive for big Cities some clubs just prioritize youth.

I do understand why you included the "Sell to top-tier teams offering above or fair market value for your players" advice, but If I did that, then It would not be realistic at all, because almost half my original team would have been sold in less than a season. That is not realistic at all. No matter how "good" the offer, I try to keep the original lineup as close to intact as I can (obviously not completely) for at least 1 season.

It's basically impossible to keep career mode realistic cos even if you keep it realistic with your team the AI teams just go mad and make unrealistic signings and stuff so it's not gonna be realistic
