Your videos are so relatable - I think they are a therapy for those of us not on the autism spectrum too. There is a positivity about your message that I really like: hope for a better future and the idea that anyone can change things to make life better. In today's world, overwhelm is real for many people so I think your videos are invaluable (and you cleaned your bathroom beautifully - it was super satisfying to watch!)

Thank you so much, that is so amazing to hear! I find it a bit difficult to decide where a video stops and a new (part of the) subject begins, as there's just so much to tell, and so I sometimes wonder if my point comes across. But you deducted it perfectly, because I indeed believe that we can make our lives better with just small things that don't have to involve money (as I think we are often led to believe). And I hope that more and more people will realize that and be able to become happier bit by bit 🩷 And thank you so much! I didn't realize it would be satisfying to watch for me too as I edited the video. It was like little bursts of dopamine every time, mostly on how shiny it became (and the sounds of course, tried to add some nice sounds to trigger some happy chemicals)!

I discovered your channel a few days ago & really like what I’ve seen you do so far, & what you are doing is needed! I am an ADHD’er who started seriously decluttering a few months ago. I think decluttering is beneficial for ADHD & many other neurotypes, but even though I’ve generally found other decluttering videos I’ve watched helpful, most of their creators at least occasionally have recommended a tip that seems like it works really well for neurotypicals but wouldn’t be feasible for someone with my brain type at all. So it’s a relief to see someone making decluttering & cleaning videos who takes people with different neurotypes into consideration!
@AutisMinasClearingClutter

This is such an amazing comment to wake up to, thank you so much for sharing that with me! I often read things about how it wouldn't make sense for ADHD'ers to declutter because an ADHD'er isn't capable of doing that. But I think (and asked my psychologist and she agrees) that it's actually super beneficial for the ADHD brain as well indeed, because it helps our brain to calm down. I don't officially have ADHD but I do have some traits and this is actually one of them: busy surroundings make me even more busy. But what you mentioned is exactly why I think I read these things about how it wouldn't be possible for an ADHD'er: I think they only hear about the tips that work for neurotypicals and thus get demotivated. It's one of my reasons for starting this channel: to show that it IS possible when looked at and tackled in a different way. And how it IS super beneficial. Thank you again and I really hope I can help you in some way with my videos 🩷

My pleasure, I'm glad it was helpful to you! The amount of cleaning products there are makes me dizzy. It's impossible to choose when you're focused on finding the right one, I feel you so bad. Honestly I think often it doesn't even matter much which one to take as long as it has the right level of acid or base (or maybe an abrasive depending on what you're going to clean). Knowing that feels a bit liberating, doesn't it?

@@AutisMinasClearingClutter There is so much ASMR content, I think most people get the joys of pleasant sounds at least a bit. (: Of course it's highly subjective, what someone finds pleasant. Like how so many of those kinds of videos use sounds that make me, personally, want to run away screaming. 😂 (I recently learnt it's called misophonia.) Thanks! Maybe I'll put them in jars, that look like something found in a magical apothecary. I like dark, witchy stuff. (:

Oh I hadn't even made the connection with ASMR (which is kinda funny as I made a short with just ASMR and still didn't think it through), you are so right! And yes, haha, it surprises me every time what people come up with to put on as 'background music' on their videos. Either sound wise or lyric wise... And that sounds so cool! I love the idea of using a 'theme' of something you love and sparks some happiness in you 🩷

I'm so glad to read that, thank you for sharing that with me! I totally forgot to reply though so figured I'd do so now:) I know how it feels and how the overwhelm and sense of chaos can make it so difficult to do something about it. But I can tell you, it has helped me SO much to get rid of every unnecessary thing in my home and organize things into categories. I wouldn't even know how to put it into words in a way that shows how much exactly, but not having to look for things all day every day and/or having to go through a mess before being able to reach it prevents that constant stress reaction that continuously caused. And it's like clearing my home cleared a bunch of unnecessary stuff that's been occupying my brain along with it. So I hope that motivates you to try and create an environment like that for yourself, too🩷

It's a 'grout freshener' from the (Dutch?) brand Alabastine. They're also called grout pens I believe and are some sort of paint specifically meant for grouts. I can't believe what a difference it made indeed, it's reflecting way more light now because the grout is white and cleaning it like this had made it so shiny. Thanks for commenting!

you are a breath of fresh air! (commenting this after you explained how anything you say or type is genuine - same here!) for me too life has become (ever so slightly) easier since aurikatariina started making her videos - for the same reasons you mentionned. i'm not quite as capable of applying all the new knowledge as you do, but it's ok, i'm in a different place and circumstances, but i can see gradual progress in my life, even though it's really small and taking its sweet time! 😅 i'm new at realization that i might be neurodivergent, even newer at having it (partially) confirmed (strong adhd with a touch of 'tism, as they say (that "touch of 'tism" for some reason amuses me a lot, and i love the way it sounds in my head)), so i'm gradually working through half a century of misunderstandings between me and the rest of the world. anyhow, i'm happy i found your channel, and of course i subscribed.
@AutisMinasClearingClutter
@AutisMinasClearingClutter Год назад
Thank you so much! That really means a lot to me and even more so because you're like me with only saying things genuinely. Your comment really made me smile (and the other one too, which I'll answer to after this one). I'm not sure when you 'met' Auri but please know I've been following her almost since the beginning and only now start to actually accomplish things haha. Although I must say I started cleaning better around a year and a half ago or so. I truly believe learning completely new things in a entirely different way than what you were used to takes time. Needs time. I was always like 'from now on I'm gonna do everything right' and it never stuck. Only now that I've decided to tackle each part seperately (decluttering being the first, along with better eating as that kinda came with the decluttering I think) do I really start noticing a difference. I feel like there's all of a sudden way more (mental) space now too and I think it's because of that (or partly at least). So hope that helps as an added perspective 🩷 I love your description, for me it's 'autism with a dash of ADHD'. No idea how I came up with it but I just think it sounds cool or something. And I totally get how it sounds in your head! Welcome and I hope I'll be able to help you sort through all of it in some way, shape or form 🩷

Thank you so much, I'm so glad you feel that way of having 'met' me and I really appreciate you saying that and all the comments you left me. So happy to have you here 🩷 Can I ask where you live? I once posted some sort of poll on Facebook on how people got diagnosed where they live and to add their country. Turns out it's SO different all over the world! If it's the US you live in then I believe, if I remember correctly, that you should go to your PA and they could refer you. I myself only recently got diagnosed (at 37) and it changed my life for the better. Knowing where certain traits come from and understanding it all has to do with our brains being wired differently has been a huge help to me. So if you're able to, I'd definitely look up how to seek a diagnosis. But if you're not able to, for example due to financial reasons, then I'd definitely look into all the things that you can find on both ADHD and ASD through Google and go from there 🩷

@@AutisMinasClearingClutter I live in Australia. My husband definitely has autism though we didn’t really learn about it until a few years ago. He hasn’t seeked an official diagnosis mainly due to costs. We know for sure he is on the spectrum. I have wondered for a while about myself and suspect I am on or near the edge of the spectrum. Diagnosis would cost a lot of money that we don’t have to spare. May I ask what country you live in? I was curious when I saw the writing on your washing machine.

@andeebee2530 I'm sorry, it's awful how difficult it can be in certain countries and how expensive it can get. Creating the post I told you about made me realize even more how lucky I am to live here, as insurance pays most of it. Without the insurance it would've cost me around €2.500,- and that doesn't even cover the meds appointments as those are over a €1.000,- more and still ongoing. I don't have that kind of money and it saddens me that not everyone has the opportunity to seek a diagnosis and get help.. ❤️‍🩹 Of course! I live in The Netherlands, it's Dutch. I was actually wondering if people would notice and get curious when I filmed my washer haha.

Mina, congrats on the tiles!😍🤩 What a great progress you'd made! I love it that you are kind enough to yourself to let yourself rest when you are tired and just go back to the project, when you have regained your strength. What was the paste you were using to make the spaces between tiles white again? Is it hard to get the extra residue off the tiles later on? It seemed very exhausting - all the work done in the video, so thank you for letting us know that it was done in several sections and over a few days even. I noticed that you have a lot of skin/hair care supplies. And you stacked them nicely 4 in a row, in 4 rows. What is your system on reaching those in the back? It would take me too much energy to restack to get to the one in the back. Thank you for telling us about how it feels for you. Many of us can relate ... to certain parts at least - and it helps to get to know myself better and know I am not alone ... I am also all over the place - you can see from the comment :D
@AutisMinasClearingClutter
@AutisMinasClearingClutter Год назад
Thank you so much! I'm so excited about how shiny they turned out 🩷 The 'funny' thing is that I was certain I'd be done in a couple of hours tops (I'm obviously terrible at assessing how much time something'll take, which is apparently an autism thing so it luckily has now become easier for me to accept and I just try to laugh about it and adjust the plan). So I really needed to adjust because I think I would've literally tumbled over if I'd continue for too long (which I must say I'm also horrible at as I don't really feel/sense my boundaries too well). It was definitely exhausting! I know how disheartening it can be when you think others are able to do something in a certain way and within a certain timeframe, so as soon as I realized it would take more time, I wanted to make sure to be transparent about it. Because I most definitely wouldn't want any of you feeling the same way! The past is a 'grout freshener', also known as a grout pen I believe. It's from the brand Alabastine, of which I'm not sure in what countries it's sold. I'm sure they have similar products in other countries though. My grouts are gray and they make the bathroom look darker. I chose the white option of the grout freshener so that it reflects light more. It's not necessarily hard to get the residue off afterwards, but you do have to make sure it's wet - it's way easier then (and is the reason you see me keep going over it with the shower). However, it again took way more time than I thought it would and I would divide it into several steps with such a big area. Ha, I didn't even realize I did a 4 x 4. I tend to do these things automatically, so funny. I'm not sure yet if this system will work (I mean look at how they ended up before 🙃 although I didn't organized them this way to begin with so maybe it'll be different this time). But I made sure the ones in the front are the ones I use the most (it's why you see me switching them up here and there). And then I try to get them out over to the right, because that part is lower and so that they don't bump into eachother if that makes sense? So all the other bottles should stay in their place when whichever one is moved... theoretically:) I'm glad it helps you to know you're not alone! It actually helps me as well when people like you comment to let me know, because I've thought for so long that I'm the weird one and it's just me, that it's sometimes kinda hard to keep remembering it's not. So thank you! And I love it haha, let's just say I script my videos for a reason and even so I wonder if they aren't all over the place 😆

Thank you so much! I hope I really do indeed 🩷 The grout stuff is a 'grout freshener' from the brand Alabastine. Not sure if that's a Dutch brand that isn't available anywhere else, but they should have products that are alike in other countries should you not happen to live here as well:) They're also called grout pens. If you look closely you can see that the right side of my bathroom had gray grout and the part around the sink and shower was white or partly white/gray. That's because I used it around 6 years ago and stopped just past my shower only to never get back to it until now. I think it stays quite well (for example look at the wall across from my shower, only a few spots turned gray again) but doesn't really cope well on spots that get a direct water stream. It does need some extreme cleaning before you put it on though as it won't stick if any greasy or whatever residue is left. Hope this helps!
