your last tip describes how I try new techniques exactly! I currently have a part painted Ettin sitting off to one side I work on from time to time. I just pick it up once in a while and make a little progress. I think everyone needs a "chill out" miniature - doesn't matter if it ever gets finished or if it's any good, just paint. great vid yet again :)
Spot on mate. I think that you've covered the biggies nicely, here. There's not much more that I could add to that without getting all long winded and going in to great detail. Happy to go over bits n bobs in discord, though. If I'm able to help out with anything, then I'm only too happy to 😃
Thanks for this! I think my goal for 2023 is just have a tabletop High army that looks consistent across the range and to not rush (done by summerish). I'm really bad at just accelerating though an army and I'm never happy with the end point since some look way better than others. So consistency is the name of the game for my 2023 :)
Great tips mate! I'm looking forward to what I'll accomplish thru painting next year, this year I had 2 things that helped turbo charge my painting: I finally cleared up space in my garage to have dedicated work bench and using speed paints. Putting my work in to fight the gray!
I started (returned to after 20 years ) Dnd last year and I changed my painting focus from armies to a single miniature and I've experienced my skill improve too.
After coming from Legion (Empire player) and painting so much white and black and then starting to play MCP it's been great. Loads of colors, trying new things, spending a little extra time on each model has really opened up my painting. Also, I've learned to not compare myself to others. If I'm happy with it then I'm done. I shouldn't stress out over it.
