Firstly, SUPER idea to review just one principal dish! The five restaurants price per dish was between 25-39€. All said and done the dish with the pasta @ 39€ was boring. The three @ 25€'s were truly great values! No great Beef Bourguinon here in Miami Lakes!
I make Boeuf Bourguigon to my great grandmother’s recipe (she was French)and I always do pomme purée with it. Cooking it takes time but it’s totally worth it ❤
We were just in Paris last week and stopped by Chez Fernand based on this recommendation. Being from New Orleans, we're used to good food but WOW!!! Funny enough, the waiter was French-American with family in Shreveport, Louisiana so we had some things to talk about. He kept bringing us bread and we kept sopping all that sauce and drinking wine. Suffice it to say, it was HARD walking around the rest of the afternoon.
I love you both so much. I plan on making this at home even though I wanted to pause the video, catch a plane and come to Paris. Maybe one day. I really appreciate all the sacrifices you two put into making these videos (hee hee). I do like that you post the prices because we can see it isn’t too expensive but realistically affordable. Merci mes amis. 🤭
I went to Au Bourguignon Du Marais today with my wife to try the Bouef Bourguignon. Wow! Exquisite! We came to París this whole week to celebrate our 10th year anniversary. Thanks to your videos we are having a better experience here in Paris.
We spent the month of May in Paris and we went to Chez Fernand 3 times! Just for their Beef Bourgogne . It was the bomb! Also, their razor clams are the best appetizer! Right around the corner from the restaurant is Cafe Laurent a small jazz club off the lobby of a hotel. …. Just perfect for an after dinner drink and some smooth jazz.
I don’t know how you could possibly choose-they all looked fabulous to me! But the best part of any of your videos is watching you enjoy yourselves; your enthusiasm is contagious. Joyeux Noël Colleen, Antoine & Vincent & your families!
First time I traveled solo to Grenoble For April 30, 2024, to Honor the 500 anniversary of the Chevalier Bayard’s Death. thanks to you. I took the train. I took the metro and didn’t have any problems. It was so smooth and effortless. Greetings from Paris. I fly out tomorrow. You’re wonderful guide made my three year project a success without any problems.
We had the sweetest experience at Au Bourguignon du Marais: I wasn't expecting much in the way of service from what I saw as a more tourist-oriented spot, but even after a misunderstanding with the reservation the maitre'd was gracious and thoughtful we had a lovely time. A complimentary glass of champagne, and then there was the boeuf! OMG.
Bonjour Guy's! We are here in Paris for 2 more days. It would be great to meet you and grab a bite to eat!. We been watching your videos for quite a while, you guy's are awesome!!
We tried beef bourguignon in a few places during our 7 weeks from St Remi to Paris. Everyone seems to make a great BB but our favourite was at the city market in Bourges which is about 2.5 hrs south of Paris. We were staying only a few streets from the market and a young lady had pots of home cooked BB, something with rabbit, a pigeon dish and a couple of other things. We took ours home with a nice bottle of Chateau Neuf 2020 which matches perfect with the BB. Unbelievable, I was transported to BB heaven.
My wife and ate at Au Bourguignon du Marais and it was the best boeuf Bourguignon we’ve ever had. Now, I can’t wait to go back and try your favorite places! Thanks! 😊
Delicious beef dish - that I love - in five very different ways. A pleasure to watch the table service, the typically French places and the food. Furthermore, your review is helpful to know how expensive casual French restaurants in Paris are right now and how careful you have to be when ordering such "small" things as a glass of wine or dessert as your bill will easily go over your budget and your expectations.
It was amazing!!! My waiter waited on you all and said you were so nice.😊 I’m taking my husband there tomorrow for dinner… I’m recommending Chez FERNAND to the whole flight crew. I got extra business cards from the restaurant to pass out.
Your videos are inspirational. I will be in Paris in April and will go to Chez Fernand (new to me). I have been to a couple of the restaurants in this video-all notable!!!
Hi guys, I’ve only just discovered your channel and it’s fantastic, I worked in Paris for a couple of years around 2008/10 and it really brings back memories, very happy times. I live in London and you just cannot compare the two, so jealous 😢
Le bœuf bourguignon challenge!!! Another great video you guys!! 👏👏👏Love Antoine’s maestro symphony after tasting the dish at Chez Fernand. As a foodie myself I just knew from his dancing fingers and sparkling eyes that this was the one for him. Colleen you were a little more difficult to read. Your videos are so so helpful. We’re planning a trip to France next year and are definitely going to eat at some if not at all of the restaurants in this video. You map it out for us so nicely. BTW love to see the bill at the end, and really like when you let us browse the menu at each location. Thank you so much for these great France escapades. Merry Christmas to you!!
We went to Chez Fernand tonight on your recommendation… just wow!! It was amazing. I had the Beef Bourguignon and it was exactly as you described. Even had the waiter serve me up my first plate, who then told me he was the waiter that served your plate too!! We had the razor clams and the snails for entree and they were amazing too!! Thanks so much for your awesome videos!! Made our three days in Paris a lot easier! Especially since Chez Fernand is just a 3 minute walk from our hotel! Thanks again, uou are both amazing people 😊
I would love to travel with you guys and eat my way through Paris or France with you. IDK what it is but the food there does not disappoint. Thanks for sharing!
Bonjour Monsieur Madame, Happy Christmas from Ireland. We go to Paris on the 26th of January. We can't wait. Have a wonderful Christmas and a peaceful New year. Merci beaucoup for all your information. Kind Regards, Margaret Majella Sorenson ❤❤❤
@@LesFrenchiesTravelwe just finished a fantastic dinner at Cafe des Musees. The escargot and beef bourguinon were both as yummy as i imagined. thank you for your invaluable suggestions-keep having fun, you two!
The Beef Bourguignon at Chez Fernand look absolutely amazing!😋 The broth/sauce is SO deep & rich….a bit thicker, & looks “to die for.” Would love to try it there the next time I’m in Paris.
You went to my favorite spot, josephine dumonet! Colleen, when i was last there, a well-heeled regular walked in, took a look at my table and said "c'est plein de touristes, hein?" 😂 Love these "best..." episodes. Would be interested to hear your favorite duck confit (to me, it's Josephhine) and sole meuniere (IMO, Paul Bert)😋
We just got back from Paris. I have beef bourguignon a few places and Chez Fernand Cristine was the best. I have never had anything so rich and delicious. The french onion soup was excellent, too. Les Marmottes was stellar as well. Thank you so much for your videos.
We dined at Chez Rene our first night in Paris last summer, there was a crazy thunderstorm and we lingered long over dinner, hoping the rain would stop! The Beef Bourguignon was amazing, they brought a large pot for the three of us and we didn't even finish half of it!
All I can say is I’m so happy you didn’t mention my favorite because now I know I can still get a seat. Nothing against the list but saving a favorite to myself is priceless! 🍽
I can't wait to try these in March. This past fall we ate several times at Aux Crus de Bourgogne: 3, rue Bauchaumont, and one time, the boeuf bourguignon was literally the best dish (of any thing) I've ever eaten. The other two times it was very good. The magic of cooking.... I may try Le Café des Musées first! Thanks for the heads up!!!
I love watching your videos..but this was definitely one on my favorites. I think i will take Antoine's advice and buy that plane ticket and get to Paris ASAP....can't wait😊😊😊😊
Im from Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean and I came across your videos today and I have to say i am hooked. I love your videos and I must say you both are very informative and engaging. Can't wait to revisit Paris and eat at the spots you recommended. ❤❤❤
Merry Christmas and Joyeux Noel to both french and american heritage! Because I always think France is my homeland even I'm not living there, you are very important for me to keep me in touch with my love.
Thanks for the recommendation for Le Perraudin. I went there tonight and it’s simply amazing. And just so you know the table of 4 next to us mentioned you as the reason they went as well. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us novices!
I love when you eat something so incredible you smile and laugh when you eat it. It all looked so amazing and my kids, who love escargot and mushrooms, would love that one appetizer.
My mom made the most amazing beef bourguignon, and her onion soup broth was outstanding. People used to remark that my mom could make anything from any national cuisine, and based on my childhood diet, I believe it. This episode reminded me of those meals, so thanks for the unintended nostalgia. Especially at the holidays. I think I have to cook one of my mom's meals this weekend...
I had the bourginion at Chez Rene!! It was heavenly!! We had the bone marrow and my husband had the ginormous steak for 2...and he finished it. The waiter you guys had kept coming to watch and cheer my husband on with his steak!! It was an amazing experience.😊 I just need to go back!!
Bonjour Antoine and Colleen when I was in the 8 th grade in NYC our French 1 teacher took us to a museum and then to a French restaurant. I had the boeuf burguyeon. Memories 😊 Joyeux Noel 🎅 et Bonne Annee🎉🍾
Oh my gosh...I am salivating all the while you are explaining what you are eating...and not only explaining. It's kind of exciting to see you both eating while you seem to perpetually reside in 7th heaven. Again...what a wonderful vlog 🙂. Merry Christmas xxx
It is so enjoyable watching your videos. Love Antoines symphonies and cracked me up when he asked Colleen are you going in from the south - on that dessert 😋 Merry Christmas I am imagining what food you will have for Christmas omg. Been and done here is Boxing Day in NZ
Greetings from Oregon! Colleen, Antoine and Vincent - you are a great bunch of the nicest people I had a joy of watching this year on RU-vid ! Keep up a terrific job ! Viva LesFrenchies!!! Have a Very Merry Christmas this Year! Lia
This is great content! Maybe one day at the French butcher you can show us what cut of beef to use, as every country cuts their meat a bit differently!
Thank you for this video. It is both informative and enticing. Someday I will go try all these restaurants. Just a question though: if I cannot finish the dish in one go, do Parisian restaurants provide to-go boxes for me to take home the leftover? Thanks.
Guys so enjoy your channel and content - I thought the one with the pasta looked good too, Merry Christmas and a very Happy, Healthy, Foodie 2024 - looking forward to watching more videos thank you 🇨🇦🎅🏼
I love to watch your videos I have loved Paris since I first visited many years ago the food is fantastic and I follow your guide when I visit, unfortunately my doctor told me I had high cholesterol so my visits to the lovely restaurants have to be curtailed 😢.
I cannot believe Antoine is French. He speaks English, to me, without an accent.I am Vietnamese, lived in France 1979-1981, and moved to the US. I came back every year to visit... Thank you for doing this show..I have more addresses to visit in July 2024...😊😊😊
I thank you for doing all the taste testing, as always a yummy and funny video. Wishing you joy and peace, happy holiday and a blessed New Year. Can not wait for more wonderful and insightful videos for 2024.❤
Thank you two for giving great places to eat there in Paris!!! And thank you also for giving great information about some good places to go there as well. I hope your New Year fir 2024 will be just as nice if not more than 2023!!! Thank you soo much!!! Happy New Year to the both of you!!!🎉🎉🥂 🥂 🎉🎉😅😊
Thanks! Those are all quite touristic places and over-the-market priced though - you should do a tour in the 11th and 20th to show what's up there also If i may suggest. You can have very good food if not better at a more decent cost :)
