1. Well you can be a teacher assistant without doing a teaching assistant course. You need to apply through agencies. 2. PGCE with QTS is required to begin teaching profession in the UK

Well rejection is part of application process, my application waa also rejected by two courses providers, maybe you can consider improving your personal statement or you can wait for other providers for their decision
