About to start my first job in September and this was so useful! I'd heard other top tips for new grads but never found them that useful because they were vague like "dont get stressed xo" but these are all things I will try to carry through with me and remember!
That makes me so happy to hear!! Yes I felt exactly the same in terms of available resources, lots of weird nebulous concepts that you literally can't put into practice because there's nothing actionable about them!! So I'm really glad to hear you felt this was helpful. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment. It's made my day 😊
As a recent grad, THANK YOU!! Especially tip 5 over costs. I moved to an area with a higher cost of living so expected a higher fee schedule but have felt some of the charges were exorbitantly high. However, you are so correct, I need not to feel guilty over what I can’t control and be creative in ways I can. Please make more videos! Your content is golden!
I'm so glad you found it helpful!!! That's made my morning!! And yes I want to make more content as I'm now working as a sea turtle vet in tje maldives but it's quite all consuming 😂 I'm on insta as @minniethevet if you want to follow and feel free to reach out if you have questions!
Thank you Dr Minnie for these insightful tips! I graduated last year and also recently started a RU-vid channel and will definitely make use of this valuable information in my career moving forward. Best of luck with your channel. :)
Great tips from a great vet!! As a new grad vet nurse a lot of these were relevant to me too and definitely things I will keep in mind going into my first grad job. Fab video minne! 🥰
Thanks for these practical tips! I'm starting as a fresh grad next week and am worried I'll forget the most basic things :( But this has made it seem less daunting, so thank you!
I worked in a practice that had a more senior team so I did have vets to call upon and I definitely sought out their guidance. But I found myself asking less questions quite early on just because I found myself so busy!! But lean on the team for sure, especially at this delicate phase in your career
