Crossair Flight 498 was a commuter flight from Zurich, Switzerland, to Dresden, Germany, that crashed two minutes after takeoff in the Swiss municipality of Niederhasli on 10 January 2000. The seven passengers and three crew members aboard the two-turboprop engine Saab 340b aircraft all died on impact.

Due to a tranquilized soviet captain, who mistakes a western ADI for a soviet one. The FO did try to tell the captain to turn left and supposed to say: "wait, you're turning the wrong way" instead of "please, standby".

On November 12, 2001, the Airbus A300B4-605R flying the route, crashed into the neighborhood of Belle Harbor, on the Rockaway Peninsula of Queens, New York City, shortly after takeoff. All 260 people aboard the plane (251 passengers and 9 crew members) were killed, along with five people on the ground.

There is so much to think about when flying that for someone that don't like to fly anyway I want to fly less. Maybe I watch too many of these crash videos. It's amazing no more planes crash than happen. Anyone that doesn't have a healthy fear of flying is knave about what can happen in the air.

The Aeroflot Nord crash was caused by a first officer who only knew how to fly crop dusters handing the controls over to his captain who was drunk and suffering from fatigue. All eighty eight passengers and crew were killed instantly on impact. The captain's muscle tissue was tested and found to contain alcohol.

Great vid, but... what about the Papa India Air Disaster from 1972? This crash lead to changes in crew resource management, introduction of cockpit voice recorders, rules on conversations below 10,000 ft, a baulk to stop the droops retracting before certain take off milestones.. Unfortunately 118 people died for these changes to happen but the changes have saved millions more.

The strobe light was out of service that day. And nobody told her that the light was not working if someone did the crash would not of happened

And the shiny light that appears on the runway? Its a tin roof, not a strobe light. Not only that, the pilots were fatigued due to insufficient sleep.
