Not as easy as you think... Holding breath a certain way can make you rise to the surface. Less air makes it easier to walk and stay on the bottom, but you would need to come up for air or you will start drowning.

I can float like wood in water when I try to swim deep into water🙄 and drown like a stone when I try to swim.. you can understand my swimming abilities 🥲
I can't.. I mean I can let out all the air and jump downwards using the pencil type pose... But going down with half filled lungs is difficult... Sometimes I am unable to either go up or down and would stay half way deep in the pool
i am a level 5 swimmer i can duck dive without weights. and i can walk on air not very well tho . i can blow bubbles and swim through and drop to the pool dead bounce on the floor and keep laying olny for like 7 seconds tho. the olny one i cant do is walk on rhe bottom of the pool (deep) 13 metres
Basically how they go underwater and they don’t go back up is that they release all their oxygen and you’ll know when you move down and release all your oxygen you won’t float

Walking on the bottom is easy, you just have to blow out all your air. Of course the downside then is that you don't have long before you have to come up for air.
