Hey Robert - appreciate the input. You're right - I've heard that some tree places will take pallets, but I haven't found much luck finding one in Central FL. It's definitely a worthwhile option for others to look into.
@@thepalletpro some places in northeastern Florida will. Especially if there's a Coal Fired power plant. Some of these recycling places will have contracts to Supply the chips to put in with the coal at the electric generating station.
Where I live the people steal your pallets! They sell them to the pallet makers for five dollars each. The odd sizes they leave . We were always having to buy pallets. We ended up storing them inside the shop.
Unfortunately, from what I can tell the same thing happens everywhere. Keeping the pallets inside or in a secured/gated area is the best way to prevent it.
Really appreciate you taking the time to comment, but I respectfully disagree. The average life cycle of a new wood pallet is 3-5 years, depending on weight put on them, distance traveled, amount of repairs needed, etc.
Hi Natosha - thanks for your comment! You're right, burning is certainly an option. Now that I think about it, I know of a local landscaping supply company that regularly burns them off to the side of their property. Unfortunately, a lot of businesses I've spoken with don't have the space to do so. Please keep in mind that this isn't meant to be an all-inclusive list - just a few options off the top of my head in an attempt to help. Have a great day!
@@natoshacasey8544 They burn broken sod pallets. I don't have an interest in them, and the landscaper is happy with how they're handling things. No point in pursuing further if both parties aren't interested in making a change.
