I switched to a keto/carnivore diet, lost 50lbs., got divorced recently and my sex drive is back. I started going to the gym 4x a week doing weights and Pilates and walking 3-4× a week as well. My energy levels and sleep also improved. I'm in my mid 60s and thankful for this transformation. I did use estradiol cream for a bit but no longer seem to need it.
started taking progesterone and i went from average 2-3 hours sleep to 6-11 my testosterone is low and i am trying to convence my doc to give me some to see what it would do for me. love your videos thank you for sharing ❤
I took Addyi because I could not find a gyn that would prescribe testosterone. The side effects were awful and it did not help with my HSSD. I am back to trying to get testosterone. It is incredibly frustrating that getting testosterone for women is so filled with hurdles.
I'm heading to the start of menopause in 53. My sex drive is here as I believe in love & sex till the end. I do not use supplements, medicines, HRT/BHRT as I'm pretty healthy and I have shatavari, red clover and lady's mantle tinctures, teas and powders in my stash always. (have a degree in ayurveda and for me health is a hallmark of whole life, habits, emotions, body, nutrition, sleep etc.). I have one question though; when I'm having sex now I get so sleepy and relaxed afterwards that I need a minimum one hour to be back in active mode. I usually take a shower, putting some of natural cosmetics and put clean and fine clothing. Sometimes, I do not like my body as before as it is slightly had changed. 😉 Your information is such a valuable asset!
This needs to be taught to all women. Sex drive changes are normal and husbands need to understand this. We need to understand this as well to stop beating ourselves up. My drive disappeared after my second child was born which coincided with the onset of my perimenopause around age 35. I'm 44 and worse now than ever. About to loose one (maybe both ovaries) due to cysts and torsion. This will put me in surgical menopause and almost guarantees a dead sex drive (with the loss of most of my testosterone) here in Canada doctors do not treat witg T (unless you find a unicorn doctor). I'm scared and frustrated because I desperately want to test my testosterone and try a low dose... I am on estrogel and some of my peri symptoms have improved but it hasn't done much to treat the shell of a person I feel like.... urgh Please can we get our natural hormones back!
1 & 3 = Yes, 4 =N Hope this helps. BTW, I am 71 years old male. weigh 124ibs and height is 5'-7" ( I use to be 5' 8" in my younger days.) I am mostly healthy other than memory issue. Cook my own food and switched to vegetarian food which I cook myself.
That's very frustrating. Of course it takes two people to have a great sexual partnership, so I need to take care of their own health issues as well, and see their urologist to take care of their part!
I’m 68 & widowed with a boyfriend of sorts. He’s younger than me, and has a tough time keeping up with me but so far it’s okay. I do need help with the dryness issue though.
No one has ever established an optimal level, but we try to keep it at the upper end of where females would fall physiologically - so in our practice we generally keep levels somewhere between 60 and 100 but it differs for different patients. There's no one number that's right for everybody. We absolutely don't want levels too high- when we get levels that are 200 or higher patients run into difficulty with side effects like acne or the skin hair growth, etc. so that is certainly not a good idea.
I’ve been using the biote pellets and taking supplements. My problem is him, my husband wants me to continue with this expensive regiment but he isn’t interested in sex so why am I doing this?
I have the same problem. I talked him into getting viagra from his Dr for his problem but he won’t take them so why am i doing this? I’ve gained 15 lbs on these supplements and they aren’t cheap. I think I’ll quit it all.
@@drsusan my husband used to take testosterone shots which helped a lot but then he was diagnosed with secondary polycythemia so his hemotologist said no more shots because it raises his hematocrits and hemoglobin.
If you google it, many meds listed are comments on male erections. But women's clitoris also becomes erect, and it makes sense that it affects women too.
As you can see, it's a very complex situation and there's no one treatment for every person, but I'd be delighted to see you if you can find yourself in Houston!
Can taking estrogen (estrodial) on its own without testosterone help improve sex drive, i.e. if atrophy goes away, feeling better could that be enough? I started pellets with both and I am wondering if I really need the testosterone.
Well, absolutely getting rid of vaginal pain and dryness can certainly increase desire, so give it a try and if that solves the problem, then problem solved!!
